Rate this book
Being the personal assistant to one of the most famous rock stars in the world comes with its perks. For Elle Bowman, however, she has yet to see them. Her client comes in the form of the gorgeous, wild and extremely damaged Autumn Anders, renowned for being the meanest woman in show business, and for her all-consuming appetite for the ladies. With Elle's childishly romantic views on love, and Autumn's negative opinion of it, there's an immediate clash of personalities. One too idealistic and naive, the other emotionally unavailable, the last thing either of them expects is that they'll learn something from each other. The lesson: Beliefs are worth very little when you're in love. Strummed is a steamy lesbian romance novel.

This book started off pretty good but now that I've finished it, I'm seeing red. Congrats to the author though, I don't think I've ever hated a character more than Autumn. Although Elle comes pretty close.

The following are hidden as spoilers for a reason so read at our own risk because it will spoil A LOT.

The last time fictional characters made me this angry I was watching Game of Thrones!

Another enjoyable read written by Ms Lowe. 2 interesting MCs in Autumn and Elle. Autumn’s character can be downright heartless. We know why she put on such a facade but still I find it ‘cruel’ that she’s flaunting all her one night stand right in front of Elle’s face. And Elle...sigh... ever the romantic! I thought she would have thrown in the towel much earlier.

I recently read this again and I enjoyed it just as much the second time. This is a good hot read if you want to be taken away for a couple of hours. The two lead characters are very different although we read it from Elle's POV. The chemistry between the two women jumped off the page. This is exactly what it's meant to be, a hot romance between a stunning rock superstar and the blushing young assistant.

Effortlessly Captivating!

“What's wrong with wanting to be in love? To love someone so deeply that if they leave the room for even a second, I can't breathe. That waking up every morning, knowing that no matter what the day brings, I've found my soul mate, so I will always be okay. To feel whole, realizing that all the time you spent without them you were only one half of that whole.”

“You don't know how to be happy. You don't even want to be. Because being happy would mean moving on, getting past the pain.”

“It was excruciating staring at someone you had feelings for, knowing that you could never mean enough to them that their ex did. That if the impossible happened and they fell in love with you, it would be an inferior love.”

Absolutely wonderfully written, the story just flowed so comfortably & easily. Despite being able to anticipate the outcome, that didn't diminish the desire to read on to see how it actually played out.
Loved this journey of self-discovery, grief, vulnerability, fear & love was marvelous!! Would love a follow up— or even a series) that could give us greater insight into Autumn's perspective, seeing how the relationship unfolds now that Autumn & Elle were officially girlfriends & definitely a prequel that would introduce us to the story about Nancy & her relationship with Autumn & the back story behind the A & S band. — (I still don't know how Nancy even died!) .
Highly recommend this book.

Do I love some lesbian angst romance? Yes, yes I do. Thank you.
Suspend all reality at page one and surrender to the sweet, sweet torment.
Autumn Anders is a hot mess. A flawed, mean, hot mess.
Sheltered Elle is looking for a career and.. a paying job. She finds herself in a PA role for rock star Autumn who lives large with a different hottie in her bed every night.
Elle's sexual awakening at the hands of Autumn's sexy charisma and savage putdowns is VERY HOT.
Autumn's raunchy teasing is a lot of fun.
I was oddly fascinated and turned on during a scene where Elle is on a date and Autumn meddles and turns on the charm.... We've all got our quirks.
The sex scenes are HOT even as Elle tries to resist inevitable.
Elle's got a lovely defiance and sense of self which softens Autumn's cold heart.
Let's all get what we want!

Nice love story

It was a really nice and steamy love story... In some ways a different take on a story of two people falling in love..

It started so good it had so much potential but the way autumn treated Elle wasn’t just “oh sorry I’m traumatized” it was just awful

It was really a heartfelt story about heartbreak, loss, and learning to love again. Great read. Really enjoyed, especially the ending.
