The secrets this family is known to keep continues to grow, but in this latest hit series that has everyone talking? It’s time for Tia to give birth to the next generation of Carters, and find out once and for all, which Carter brother could possibly be the father.
Just here to update this profile. I'm actually not 25 anymore but I'll be 30 next year haha. Still writing. Wow. Can't believe it. Current book I'm working on as I type this; Moon Child.
I am in love with this series. I started from the beginning Fore the Love of ATL because I just wanted to see what it was like. And I saw where I could stop after that if I wanted to. So I tried it thinking if I didn't like it at least I could stop. Well I was hooked after that. So I moved on to the Carter Boys. And i just wanted to know more about them. I thought it would be hard to follow all of the characters, but it is really easy. I really love all of the different personalities and how you get to learn about all of the Carter's. I feel like I am reading a soap opera. I gotta say that Elijah and Jordyn are my favorites. But after this book I'm liking Shiloh more and more. Andrew is really good for Olivia too. I don't want to say too much more. But I really do love this series. I know I am late getting started, but I'm glad I found the series. I also like the facebook page where people are posting what they think the characters look like. Makes me want to watch it on TV. Just wanna say you have done a great job with this series so far. I'm ready to start part 5. By the way you are making my work days unproductive because all I want to do is read. Can't wait to see what happens next. Waking up at 3am for a drink of water and then I have to read "one more chaper". LOL I end up staying up for another hour. OK I've rambled on enough.
OMG, there were so many issues that I don't know where to start. At first, the Carters were known for their musical talents, but when you look deeper into the Carters, the family had more skeletons than a graveyard. The original Carters included the father, Marion Carter, who was Olivia's best friend, father, and confidant. Olivia was indeed a daddy's girl, but how could she be so close to her father, after she knew what her father was a sick man that did things to her brothers?
There were a family history of mistreating and abusing women. Marion wasn't the only person to hurt the Carter boys, but the mothers knew what was going on, and in fact encouraged it, or didn't do anything about it. It definitely explained the dysfunction and dynamic of the Carter boys relationship with each other.
There wasn't anyone that could've read this book in this series, and not feel a type of way. Desirée did a great job when it came to this one, and it gave a great insight on something different in an urban book. I would definitely recommend this read.
When I think about Book 1 of THE CARTER BOYS when TIA FIRST DISCOVERED HER PREGNANCY, hunted Jaheem down from the ATL to another part of GEORGIA to inform him his rape of her resulted in her being pregnant, then his & his brothers' reactions caused her to REACT VERY BADLY I MIGHT ADD--WITH ALL THE ALCOHOL INTAKE & Such IN THE CLUB, kind of prepared me for WHAT SHE WOULD ENDURE (MISCARRYING). That plus all of her morning sicknesses & whatnot in TCB TIA went through seemed like a precursor for what would happen in the end. I STILL DIDN'T LIKE JODY/ELIJAH & JORDYN'S CHARACTERS & WONDERED WILL ALL THE CRAP THAT HE'S PUTTING HER THROUGH CAUSE TO STRESS OUT & ALSO MISCARRY. SHILOH CARTER'S LOVE FOR AMARI IS WHY I WOULD BUY THIS IF IT WERE AVAILABLE IN PHYSICAL COPIES, THAT IS!
Didn't expect book 4 to end like that. I so missed Andrew and Olivia. Seems like they just disappeared after the mom dropped that atomic bomb on her and they went on vacation... Jeremy is completely buggin out without Amari. Good for that ass, shouldn't have never went back to Tiffany stank butt in the first place. Had that girl all the way messed up. Hopefully we don't have to wait too long for the finale for the Carter Girls. I am anxious, wanting to know how it ALL turns out for the Carters.
After reading For the love of Atlanta and the Carter boys and book 1-3 of the carter girls this has been the best one so far. I could not put thus book down once I started. Definitely one of my favorites. I am so proud of Olivia because she has grown so much. All the stuff that was taking her down she over came it. Andrew was the breath of fresh air she needed. Some parts of this book were so sad. I won't mention it in the review you gotta read it yourself.
You did your thing again Desiree. What a great beginning and I want more ending. Yessssss!!!! I can't wait until The Carter Girls 5. Poor Tia losing her babies. Trent going through a lot in this one. And Jade, what a hoe.
The story continues about the Carter family. More characters and just enough information on them to understand their part in this story. I love how this author writes. It makes me feel like I'm there seeing all of this drama happening. This book bring out a lot of secrets. It also shows you a different side to each characters. Some are being spiteful, petty, and changing to a different person. Family is what it's suppose to be with the Carters but it's really coming out how they are. Now to the last book. You need to have these series in your library.
The ending tho! Omg I felt so bad for Tia. No one deserves to go through anything like that. I'm glad the person she least expected to be there for her was there. Shiloh mad me mad at his birthday party. His cousin Demarco is a weirdo. Levii and Cj are the cutest. I hope Olivia and her brothers can work it out. I hate that they did that to her but, that's all they know. Few small errors. On to the final installment.
Lots of drama between the Carter brothers as they begin family meetings to discuss and understand more about their unusual childhood. They meet another Carter brother/sister, CJ and his twin sister Hazel, who are the spitting image of Trent. Their women, LOTS OF WOMEN, also have stuff to deal with in the relationships with the Carter 👦s as well as other family members. Only one missing is Olivia.
This a very good long thick series. After reading there is still so much to know. Some new happening and new character tying into the Carter clan. Glad there is a book 5. Definitely wish I had known about this author back in 2014. She would have been on my go to author list. I still so much more to catch up with the Carter gang. Trent surprislely found some emotions, poor Tia I cried that whole scene. Like that was so unepexcted.
Close to the end of this side of these Carter boys. Trying to stay in order of how the storyline goes with each book but it's hard. To not read forward. Waiting for book 5 so I can play catch up in the series.
It’s crazy how insane the Carter family is. But they’re just like most families ..... I am going thru so many emotions as the family secret is slowing being revealed .... jeezee
I knew something was up with Anthony. He the one going in the boys room at night when Jordyn thought it was Joy. Who he been messing with besides kids and Joy???
Loved this series, kept me interested in all the characters, storyline had some good surprises, I loved how the author had no heros in these books, still interested to read more if more were published. Definitely recommend to anyone who into reading a good series.
ed to read more if more were published. Definitely recommend to anyone who into reading a good series. Can't wait to for hopefully more books
This has been a great series so far and now I am about to get to the last book.. I am thoroughly impressed by the writing in this series, the relationships that have been created and loss. The love, the hate, the indifference, laughter, the FAMILY. The books have taking on such a different aspect of love and hate that although I have never experienced this type of life, I can relate to so many of these situations. Desiree you have done an outstanding job. Ok.. Moving on
I have never been so intrigued with ratchet behavior as I have with The Carter Girls and Boys. Start at book 1 of the boys and work your way up. It is so worth it!
I have not been able to put this series down; I go from one straight to the next. This book is so serious, I didn’t even stop to do reviews until I was totally finished.
Say it ain't so, Stella!!!! Man, not even...you have to read this series, it makes sense on so many levels. I love a good drama, since I live a life that keeps me in isolation due to chemotherapy, I can't have people around me. I've always loved drama, but not to be part of drama...I love dramatic t.v., movies, and books....once it's over, no side effects...Haha this author just does it for me.
