THE AMAZING TRUE STORY OF HOW JORDAN BELFORT BECAME THE WOLF OF WALL STREET...
...AND HOW HE CAME CRASHING DOWN.

'What separates Jordan's story from others like it, is the brutal honesty' Leonardo DiCaprio
'Raw and frequently hilarious' The New York Times
'Reads like a cross between Tom Wolfe's Bonfire of the Vanities and Scorsese's Goodfellas... Laugh-out funny' The Sunday Times

1 - THE WOLF OF WALL STREET
By day he made thousands of dollars a minute. By night he spent it as fast as he could, on drugs, sex, and international globe-trotting. From the binge that sunk a 170-foot motor yacht, crashed a Gulfstream jet, and ran up a $700,000 hotel tab, to the wife and kids who waited for him for at home, and the fast-talking, hard-partying young stockbrokers who called him king and did his bidding, here, in his own inimitable words, is the story of the ill-fated genius they called... THE WOLF OF WALL STREET.
In the 1990s Jordan Belfort, former kingpin of the notorious investment firm Stratton Oakmont, became one of the most infamous names in American finance: a brilliant, conniving stock-chopper who led his merry mob on a wild ride out of the canyons of Wall Street and into a massive office on Long Island. In this astounding and hilarious tell-all autobiography, Belfort narrates a story of greed, power, and excess no one could invent - the story of an ordinary guy who went from hustling Italian ices at sixteen to making hundreds of millions.
Until it all came crashing down.

2 - CATCHING THE WOLF OF WALL STREET
In the 1990s Jordan Belfort became one of the most infamous names in American finance: a brilliant, conniving stock-chopper. He was THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, whose life of greed, power and excess was so outrageous it could only be true; no one could make this up! But the day Jordan was arrested and taken away in handcuffs was not the end of the madness.
Catching the Wolf of Wall Street tells of what happened next. After getting out of jail on $10 million bail he had to choose whether to plead guilty and act as a government witness or fight the charges and see his wife be charged as well. he cooperated.
With his trademark brash, brazen and thoroughly unputdownable storytelling, Jordan details more incredible true tales of fortunes made and lost, money-making schemes, parties, sex, drugs, marriage, divorce and prison.

Well, I've seen the movie first so I guess the book was somewhat an easy read. I could easily visualize most of the scenes depicted in it. But I don't remember laughing as much as I did reading the book while I was watching the movie. I guess it's true what they say about books and their corresponding movies.

It's funny how irresponsibility has not been thoroughly construed as one of the prevalent causes of self-destruction. As I read the book, I couldn't help but notice that whenever Mr. Belfort got himself into trouble, he always has a readily available someone/something to blame. I think he even highlights it in one of the pages. How he wrote this book gives a clear and detailed account of how our own perspective regarding the things we do can be tainted by mere self-preservation. Though I still can't seem to decide if whether or not what led to the chapter "SUPER RAT" was well deserved by the victims the followed, I guess that has something to do with what the word "RAT" really entails in a brought sense.

"All men betray", God! Is this just some kind of justification for what was happening, or does he actually believe that? What I thought as I was reading on. But what he concluded in the case of "the Chef" kind of put my mind at ease. Because hooked as I was, and still am for that matter, to the book, I could slowly feel the influence of each page have a grip on me. I think It's kind of inevitable when it comes to certain authors. Understanding that, I guess it's safe to assume that had he concluded otherwise, a man's life would have changed at that instant.

I personally feel the gentleman was a bit harsh on Miss USSR, he knew at first hand that the relationship was going to be a nightmare, but to feed his ego and massage his aching heart, he drag it on until the only exit he could see out of it was a public humiliation. Selfish!!!

BUT!!!!!!

I am entirely grateful to Jordan for his style of writing, he took out the tediousness that usually envelops most of the novels out there. The book is simply written, well structured and it never leaves a the reader wondering, "WHAT THE HELL IS HE TALKING ABOUT NOW".

This book was fucking amazing, no two ways about it.

Jordan Belforts life was one of unbelievable proportions. One most of us will probably never come close to experiencing. Despite that, his underlying message was wrote clear as day: don’t do what he did because it will end in shambles.

Seeing him help the youth of today avoid his litany of drug fuelled adventures and cutting corners is an important one in a world so fuelled by greed. His stories about his children and friends losing him as well as losing himself to his misdeeds really shows why a life of cutting corners should never be considered. With that his message is superbly written.

Reading how he was able to make his riches again through legitimate means by the end of the book was a great read, I was so happy for him to have that happy ending. After all the bullshit he’s been through, he deserves this happy ending.

Being able to have a Birds Eye view at his crazy adventures tinged with comedy was well done too, there where parts I laughed out loud reading them, especially with him talking about himself at the casino penthouse with the Strattonites. If you know you know, I shan’t say more 🤫.

All in all this was an amazing read with an important message. Again its great to see how Jordan’s turned his life around and I can’t wait to see what he does next.

5/5 from me! A brilliant read!

I loved this book. I’ve watched the movie several times. Such an amazing story of a bunch of crazed money making salespeople. The ending of the written story differs from the movie, and I found it realistic. However, I wish it wouldn’t have had such an abrupt ending. Overall, a fantastic story!
