Secrets of the Heart is Book #1 of 3 Christian Suspense Romance books and offers a Preview of the Crystal Cove Story. The story begins with Heather Parks predicament to keep from falling in love with a wealthy widowed bachelor when she is assigned as a nurse to care for his sick daughter.
I didn't care for this book. The employer and employee liked each other to quick with no depth. Certain things were supposed to happen the next day and didn't with no explanation. Then you have to read the next book to find out who harmed Heather.
Ugh! I was not expecting this to be a cliffhanger. Looks like I need to get the second book to read on. A sweet story thus far. A few errors, but easy to overlook. If you are looking for a quick and sweet read this is it.
This is an interesting book. I enjoyed reading it. I'm looking forward to learning what happened to Heather. I'm interested in knowing whether or not Michael will come to his senses and understand that God did not bring tragedy on his family.
I chose this book after having read another book authored by Ms MacBride and of course because of its interesting synopses. In this brief read, is lead female character Heather. Heather is a nurse and her agency has given her a new assignment; something she has never done - care for a terminally-ill child, a young girl (Evelyn). Evenlyn lives with her father (Michael) and their house staff; her mother died a violent death when Evelyn was much younger.
Michael is a well known and respected business man - he is also angry with God for "allowing" the bad things that has happened to him and his family. Heather is a great nurse with a great attitude and very much strong in her Faith. Heather tries to convince Michael that God lives all of us. This assignment is going to be a challenge. I loved this, the mix of sadness, happiness, tragedy book and then it abruptly ends. Now I'm on "assignment" to read the remaining two books in this series. I must see how things for out and what life has in store for Heather, Evelyn, and Michael.
Great read! Enjoyed the two different places where scripture was clearly referenced. Great characters. Good story line. However, it leaves you hanging in the middle of the book. I know there are three books to the set, but it's like it just stops in the middle of the book.
Heather is a nurse who works in patients home. She is assigned to work with Evelyn, a child with leukemia. As Heather settles in she grows to love Evelyn and has growing feelings for Evelyns dad but resists these feelings because he no longer believes in God. Great story but its not a standalone
I felt that it ended in an incomplete way. It just stops almost in mid sentence. Its goid and I really like the book but the ending needed a better format to carry it over to the next book.
What is wrong with being truthful and stating this would stop with a cliffhanger!!!! I am on a limited income, I need to plan a purchase. And buying books that end in cliffhangers to get me to buy more of your books is dishonest in my opinion!!
Ok I enjoyed the book for what it was. It’s not the best book I’ve ever read. The writing to me was very... blog like. Also there is no ending. You have to wait until the next book to find out what happens. The book goes from 0-100 towards the end.... not sure if I’ll read book two
Great book! Really pulled me in and forced me to purchase the 2nd and 3rd books to find out what happens. Unique and interesting. It is a 3 book series.
The book seemed to move really slow, but the frustrating part is that this was dubbed a mystery, but nothing mysterious happened until the last chapter. And in order to find out the rest of the story, you have to buy the next book. This is not right!
This was a good book. I realize this was a prequel to a series of books. Am used to books finishing in one or maybe two books. But to have to read three books to find out what's going on.
