Marcus is a Navy Seal Veteran who lost a limb while serving his country and relies heavily upon his service dog Rex. Despite the lack of a hand, Marcus is a successful investigator who is also sexy, intelligent and a very demanding Dom. He is introduced to Gini, a petite librarian, whose intelligence and inner beauty catch Marcus off guard.
He doesn’t feel he’s good enough for her and tries to just remain friends despite the clawing feelings inside him that he must claim Gini as his own. Gini is very shy, but desires Marcus like nothing else in this world. Will they ever let their feelings for each other known to explore what they both desire? Will Gini get her chance with her sexy dom? All l can say is that we have another wonderful scene with pirates, realistic life experiences, some trauma bonding and some very hot scenes. You will mot be disappointed!!

I’m sorry, but when you write a book about a Disabled Veteran with a Service Dog, please, please make it clear that you have actually run the manuscript past people with experience in the topics you’re covering.
The misrepresentation of Disabled folks & Service Dogs, as a Disabled person, is crushing.
The Author’s Note at the beginning feels patronising & disingenuous.
Knowing someone with a disability from birth is a *very* different thing to understanding a traumatic, debilitating injury, & associated mental illness. Not to mention, the intricacies of working with a Service Dog.
I will not be re-reading this part of the series, though I will happily re-read the books prior to this.
I will not recommend it to others, except by way of a case study.
There were no Queer characters explicitly identified in this book.
The sex is excellent writing. That was the only really enjoyable aspect.
Tl;dr: TALK to Disabled Folks before you WRITE about them & their dogs, their mobility aids, or their mental processes. Make sure someone with Topical Knowledge reviews the manuscript.
Society is what Disables us.

Totally my friggin favorite out of the series!!! You have a lost woman, who meets the man of her dreams but he doesn't seem interested in her... She then finds out that it is his PTSD and he has a dog to help him deal with it. This book took my heart and soul and just made me feel like no other can. Then the sex... Whewww the sex is off the charts hot!!!!

Hooked: Replay by Nia Farrell was a good read. Marcus is a man that knows what he wants but knows his desires are too dark. That is until she's given a weekend at a BDSM theme resort. This was a great quick read.

I won this book in a FB book party. Having not known about the Replay series, and then reading the premise, I bought the first 3 books in the series so I could read them straight through, though each book is great as a standalone. This book brings us Marcus, an injured Veteran with PTSD and Gini, a petite and eager librarian. Gini receives a free weekend at Replay, from her friend Rowena, introduced earlier in the series. Replay, a BDSM roleplaying resort, specializes in historical time periods, being Pirate themed on the weekend Gini attends. Gini wants to learn more about BDSM and test her limits, and after years of pining after Marcus, she learns he is the Dom she is playing with for the weekend. We learn about Marcus, his PTSD, his service dog Rex and how Marcus navigates the world as a sufferer, and a new Dom. I love that Farrell incorporates such issues into her books, to raise awareness in a hot and steamy setting. My only disappointment is that the book ended so quickly. Am eager to read more about Marcus.

I really liked reading about Marcus and Gini!! It was hot, it was sexy and the sex was descriptive and mesmerizing. I felt like I was part of Replay watching a scene happen right in front of me and it made me wish I could actually be there experiencing all of it myself!! But this book is the next best thing!!! So please don't hesitate to buy this book!! You don't have to have read the first three books, but you really will want to and people from the first three are mentioned or make an appearance in Hooked. I definitely recommend this book and the first three Replay books because they are all fun and oh so sexy!!! I also love how the author incorporated Marcus' dog into the story because he was a very important part of Marcus dealing with his PTSD. Enjoy!!

I enjoyed this short, sexy story. Marcus is a Dominant, is a war veteran suffering from PTSD guides Gini in exploring her sexuality. The book is #4 in the Replay series but can be read as a standalone.

OMG! Best book yet in the Replay series! Its your all American romance. Amputeed war hero, cute librarian, amazing chemistry, and one he'll of a happy ending! Amazing job Nia Farrell!
