2.5 STUD IS A DUD STARS



The ideas of these stories are much better than the actually story to me. The first one was okay but I have to say I felt very let down by the whole book.
There are 5 stories of 4 different couples plus a Christmas story 3 years later.
I won't waste my time with every story and storyline, you can read that for yourself, I will just state why this book failed for me.
1- each couple are poorly developed as a couple. They are just two individuals that are together.
2- they say they love each other, but I don't feel it. It mostly sexual and nothing about sharing real intimacy.
3- their passion is too contrived for me and I couldn't help but feel, is this how they are with their past partners!? We are given limited information about that as well.
4- it was not engaging enough that I had to turn the page to find out how it all ended.
5- without the Christmas story I wouldn't have known if these couples would have lasted because their bonds are very weak to me. It felt like at any minute the hero or heroine could break up.



Now, the whole book is not bad and generally the stories are well written but to say I would read it again, NOPE.
Not worth it for me!

I read the first 2 stories but got bored by the third. As much as I enjoyed the first 2 stories (Clint and Jake)they were just a tad bit OTT with insta love and it was just a tad bit on the cheesey side for me. Overall if you are looking for fast stories filled with hot alpha males and insta love with little to no drama then look no further:)

I really enjoyed Stud Farm by Joanna Blake. This is a novella that is about the cousin to the Delancey Brothers and her life and the romance. Clint McRae is a rugged man and he took a job training this spitfire of a young woman to get her all the way to the National Championships. The young woman in question is Pheonyx Delancey, She is super talented but boy is she spirited, like those horses she rides. Her cousins Jackson,Daniel and Jake, are very protective of her and treat her more like a little sister than cousin. Pheonyx is a 22 year old Phenom horse rider and has the potential to go very far in this career but she needs that little extra push. So that is where we meet Clint who becomes her trainer who is going to make her that superstar . Thing is, there is whitehot chemistry between them She drives him insane with lust and with her sassy mouth. One moment she is driving him nuts with her sassiness , the next with her body and with the heat between them. Oh I loved their chemistry and how Pheonyx realized this older man was it for her. The story flowed perfectly and had a wonderful Christmas theme and provided a lovely future look for all in the Delancey family. This was a short and sweet ending to the Delancey series, it appears but it any future books were to appear, I would gladly welcome them for I love this family.

I really loved Pheonyx Rising and I liked the fact all the Delancey brothers and family were all wrapped up in this fantastic book.
This book has a little for everyone in it.
Pheonyx Rising is about Pheonyx Delancey a cousin of Jackson,Daniel and Jakes who they treat like their little sister and are VERY protective over her.
Pheonyx is a 22 year old fantastic horse rider who's got a potential fantastic career in front of her.She rides her horse Apollo to near perfection but she just needs that little extra push.
Enter Clint McRae the extremely handsome trainer who is employed to take her to nationals and make her a star.
The only problem is that the sassy little spitfire drives him crazy.
This story has chemistry,white hot panty melting snippets and enough alpha testosterone to fill a tack room.
A very Delancey christmas is the perfect ending to this book and shows us a glimpse into the future of all the Delancey family and it's a perfect, short and sweet ending to a fantastic series.

I absolutely loved Clint and Phee's story. The chemistry was off the charts between the two. It was amusing to watch the relationship develop and stumble a bit. Once they were on the same page...it was instant fireworks. This was a very hot and steamy read...one of my favorite types to read!

My favorite part in the whole book was the Christmas epilogue of all of the Delancey's. I especially loved the part in regards to Casey!

I highly recommend this book to everyone...it was a phenomenal story and I can't wait to see what Joanna comes out with next. Well done!!

When it comes to his Phe, Clint is hardheaded, dominant and doesn't take the word no very well.
Ride With Me:
Elle was just adorable and her thoughts we something else, "Jake Delancey was hard. Jake Delancey was hard down there. He grinned down at me unrepentantly, not the least bit concerned about his massive erection. And it was massive. Abnormally so."
Bound To Me:
Daniel is determined when it comes to his Francesca, the man does not give up.

This is a definite must buy. Each one has their own story that is intertwined into one big story. It was fun, exciting, humorous, romantic, hot and oh so much fun to read. I just loved it. Best one I have read in a long time and I will definitely read it again and again. If you like cowboy bad boys and their women and everything between them you will like this one.

I have to say I'm a huge fan of Joanna Blakes work. Love all her books. The redo of the Delancey and new character it was hot and steamy. I was not disappointed at all. It had everything I was looking for in this book. Virgin, head strong women and hot alpha males who took control. Can't wait for more to come

One of the best box set of books I've read in a long time.
I loved reading about Clint and Phee and the other Delancey boys.
Love some sexy cowboy stories. Book one, Pheonyx Rising, was so sexy! Clint keeps things heated up.

Playing For Keeps!

Funny, romantic, sexy stories of 4 dominant alpha males! Each story was full of light drama and escapades. Stories of finding love when you are not looking and the hurdles each couple overcomes to find their HEA. An enjoyable read.

An Awesome Read!!!

I absolutely loved reading Stud Farm(Delancey Brothers Book 1)! This was a fabulous read because the entire family was in this book. Each one of the brothers and their cousin Pheonyx had there own story. I highly recommend you get this, because each story is better then the first. They are a horse breeding farm and everybody has a stake in the business. The first book is called Pheonyx Rising and it’s all about Pheonyx a sixteen year old Trick Rider who wants to win the championship and her new Trainer Clint McRae. He’s the best Trainer in the business, but he does not like Pheonyx at first, he thinks she is reckless and Wild. And the feeling is mutual with Pheonyx and Clint! The author wrote a story about a young girl who thinks she knows everything, but is about to find out life is not a silver platter!! Read about Pheonyx & Clint and watch the sparks fly as they butt heads as they get back to basics! Book 2 is called Ride With Me and it’s about Jake Delancey the youngest brother who likes to go out on the road and travel, around the country on his motorcycle living life on his terms! Using daddy’s money to get established in each town, and then using his hands to either fix bikes or bartender to make ends meat, before moving on to the next place. When he decides to go home, because his dad is sick he meets Elle an Irish girl who works at the club down the street from there farm. He likes her but eventually he gets her fired, and offers her a job at his farm. The author wrote a story about a young girl who has lived a very hard life, and keeps getting knocked down only to stand back up and keep fighting. Read about Jake & Elle and see how sparks fly between the two, as they navigate everyday life! Book 3 is called Bound To Me and it’s about the middle son Daniel who is extremely hard working and handles the day to day training on the farm. He’s just come in from a long training ride with Black Jack a very spirited Stallion, when the head stable guy tells him his appointment from last week just showed up. He takes Black Jack from Daniel and suggests he might want to get cleaned up before meeting the pretty woman! Daniel decides since she blew him off last week, with no word as to where she was or if she was planing on coming to breed her mare, she would get him how he was sweaty and all dusty from caring for his horses. He’s shocked when he walks into the stable and see’s her leaning against Thunders door letting the stallion nuzzle her check. Apparently Thunder is a very nasty stallion and does not like anybody but Daniel, and he’s flabbergasted when she reaches into her purse and gives him an apple and he eats it and then nuzzles her check again! The author wrote a story about a wealthy women who is very much entitled and treats everybody including Daniel like he’s the Help! She decides she needs a distraction while her horse is being breed, and she has chosen Daniel! What she later learns is he is not the help but an owner and she does not like having the tables turned. Read about Francesca & Daniel and see what makes them tick, as they navigate thru her wealthy life! Book 3 is called Branded and it’s about the oldest brother Jackson. He runs the day to day business takes care of all the paperwork and all the breeders all the staff and all the groundskeepers and any trades that need to come in to help keep their farm and breeding establishment running with very little problems. He’s out after tying one on the night before working with the tree guys and his head is pounding and it feels like a jack hammer has taken up residence in his head. He vows next year not to make appointments the next day so he can nurse his hangover in peace. Yesterday was the anniversary of his mom’s death, and it’s the only time he allows himself to get drunk. While he is out on the property with the tree guys going over there recommendations, his brother Daniel shows up and mentions that the Jenkins place was just bought by a City girl and her sister. Just then Angelina Randall comes along to tell them to stop taking her trees down. According to Jackson the trees are on his property and if they pose a problem for people or horses the trees will be removed. Angie goes back to her house and gets the zoning paperwork of her property, and as it turns out some of the trees are on her property. But she sees reason and is allowing the tree guy to take down the trees that pose a problem for her neighbor. Read about Jackson & Angelina and there love hate relationship! Book 4 is called the Delancey Christmas, and it’s about all the brothers and their wives and kids and their cousin Pheonyx and her husband and children and Casey and her husband the Vet and her daughter. Christmas at the Delancey is completely chaotic and they would not have it any other way!! I loved reading all about the Delancey’s and I hope you will as well!!!

Mediocre but it had its moments


I like Clint and Phoenyx. I wish his past love life would have been clarified more, but he didn't seem to be a womanizer before her and definitely wasn't once he met her or starting training her or whatever. It wasn't quite instalove, but it was a quick attraction and with a realistically fast falling in love time period. It was a sweet story, and the conflict with the cousins was amusing and sweet, though over the top.

It was not clear when Phoenyx's story ended. Jake's story started in the next chapter, like it was just all one story instead of separate stories in a book. It was confusing. Then there were Clint or Phoenyx chapters in between the other stories. It was weird.

I automatically didn't like Jake because of how promiscuous he was and how he treats women. He wasn't cruel, but he wasn't careful enough with their feelings, and casual sex is gross, so I immediately had little respect for him and wasn't looking forward to his story because it's hard to enjoy a story when you don't like a main character, and I don't like slutty characters. I did like Elle, but her singing career felt out of place. It was mentioned later too, and while having a good singing voice wouldn't be out of place, being a singer and managing houses and businesses or whatever didn't make sense to me mixed together. I did end up overall liking their story but I think it could have been better. All of the stories could have been better.

I didn't like Franscesca or Daniel all that much in their story, and that really sucks because I loved him I the stories of Jake and Phoenyx. It had a happy ending, but I just didn't like the characters or their story really. I don't know how to explain. It just wasn't good.

I thought I would like Jackson but he ended up being a slut, too. I really didn't think he'd be that way. It doesn't fit his personality. He was so different in his story than in the others and though he calmed down and committed, he didn't want to at first. He was really selfish and only wanted a fling like relationship with Angelina in which he could do whatever and she couldn't. It was all just really...not good. I liked Angelina and Casey though. Angelina was very kind and unselfish and did so much for her sister. It was sad when Jackson's behavior and only wanting sex upset her. He was really clueless and awful for awhile.

I recently read several books by this author that I really enjoyed, so I was really disappointed by this one. I thought that the characters wouldn't be promiscuous because they weren't in the other books, and usually authors have a pattern. The ones that have books with non-slutty characters, I usually seek out the rest of their books. Ugh, I'm really bothered by this series. Only the first couple was really "right" in my eyes.

Though Casey was mostly a secondary character, I really like how she had a couple chapters. The chapters in between main stories was sometimes confusing, but I understand why the were there. They basically combined the 4 stories into one, and it was cool, but it was still confusing at times.

I liked that their mom and how much she loved them was in there in a natural way, and I liked how once a brother found his woman, the other considered her family. It was really sweet how solidified and close the family became, especially considering Jake's background.

Speaking again of Casey, her having the last chapter and all that happened in it was just perfect. I cannot express how much I love when last lines are amazing. It's very very rare that the last lines are really really good. This one was absolutely perfect. It was surprising since the book was mediocre.

Overall, I have mixed feelings. It was both good and bad. Casey had the fewest chapters but hers were the best.

Love it all.

I loved how thus book just continued onto the next set of characters. And how they were all seen throughout the book. It made me smile and actually laugh. It a good read from cover to cover. It was nice to read a book that just about finding true love. To see every one of them to their HEA. I've love every series I have read from Joanna. Can't wait for the continuing books for the other series from her.

Five Star Farm!

I really enjoy and like All the stories, but my favorite was Jake & Elle. I like that all the females where feisty and strong will and made the guys work for there attention. The guys had to get off there Cocky selves and show there love for their ladies. Even though Clint, Jake, Daniel & Jackson are still true cavemen, but sexy as hell.

Surprises are rife throughout the books and what surprises you may see some of them coming, some you won't.
In true Joanna Blake style she kept me engrossed within each book, wanting to know what was going to happen, at the same time not wanting the story to end.

This book was a good quick read with well developed characters and a story line that flowed nicely from beginning to end. The forbidden attraction between the main characters is undeniable. The sarcastic banter between the two makes for a fun light read add some steamy moments to make this book a recommended book.

Sex in the country

If you're looking for hot sex scenes this book as plenty of them. No real substance. I'm an avid reader and after the first two stories I was bored. Didn't bother to finish the book.

Not normally a fan of lust to love stories but this group of stories was different as it had most of the story build up AFTER the I dos were said I loved the after stories after the MAIN story was done. I will definitely read more by this author!

Stud Farm

All of these books were great. I just love the Delancy brothers and their strong women. Each has something very unique to contribute.
