This novella is a sweet and heartwarming addition to the Volkov Bratva series! Most chapters are narrated by different members from this series as well as characters from the Den of Mercenaries series. This shortie starts on Christmas Eve, transitions through to Christmas Day and then some, with lots of surprises and a bit of recapping included. At the end of this shortie is a special and welcome sneak peek of another London Miller project! En-joyed!
Somehow I missed this beautiful little gem of a novella in the chaotic nonsense that had become my life. I don't get to read nearly as much as I want to on a regular basis, although I am trying to rectify that.
So yes, I had to grab this and clear everything to read it when I found it again.
And it is wonderful. An enjoyable peek at all your favorites from London's VB and Den series. Hello, Red ... that was quite a way to welcome your twins, my problematic fave.
Favorite line from this book?
It comes from Luka, of course.
"But did you die?"
London has the best way with words - and she really knows how to make problematic heroes you can't help but to love.
If you're a fan of VB or the Den, this is a must-read.
The twins, Mishca & Lauren Volkov with baby boy Sacha, Vicklaus & Reagan Volkov, Luka & Aleksandra Sergeyev along with Amber & Kyron (The Bratva familial) celebrate Christmas. A quick and interesting read.
Christmas is all about catching up with family and making nice to each other regardless if they grate on your nerves the other 364 days of the year! Now of course I wouldn’t be referring to my family. I’m blessed our family enjoys being together at Christmas and agree we need to catch up more during the year. The Volkovs left me with a similar feeling, not that they said as much but the inference was there at the end of the book.
The challenge for them all is to be able to put down their weapons and come together to celebrate the festive season. This is not a simple feat with their work taking them at times to other countries! Then there’s the sibling angst, that while getting better still had a lot of room for improvement. Fortunately their wives work their magic in convincing all to put their grievances behind them to indulge them this Christmas.
Wow, present giving was taken to a level that will put most of us to shame LOL. The planning and the gifts they gave to each other were all wonderful with the final one so perfect, it topped them all! That’s a big call because each and every present was chosen with an abundance of love and thought. One of the many highlights for me was Sasha asking if he should say ‘surprise now’ to his mother. It was so cute and my heart melted each time he asked his father. All the men featured in this story live, love and fight with an unquestionable passion. We get to spend time with each of the couples, with points of view being shared equally among them all. Each time a new couple entered into the story, I was reminded why I love this series so much.
Instead of the usual blood, love is what ebbs and flows all the way through this story . While the men are Bratva through and through, the only stars in sight in this story were the shining brightly kind. Well except for one occasion and that was in the festive spirit. This is a book I could easily pick up and read again. The big bonus was the note at the end promising there will be more stories ahead from these wonderful characters!
Gahhhh! I love this! The Morning is such a sweet, funny little interlude into the Volkov Bratva couples that we've come to know and love. We get Mischa & Lauren, Adorable (to me at least) Luka and Alex and of course Nicklaus & Reagan. It's a perfect little novella for the holidays and keeps us up to date on our favs! Trust me a lot happens in this Novella so your going to want to read this! Enjoy!

It's fitting that my last read of 2016 come from who will undoubtedly be my first in 2017 also.
A nice short update on all the characters we love and their very own Christmas stories. It's good to see the couples acclimate to their new normal and how they share phone calls across Christmas Eve and Day as the networks and friendships thicken.
Though some of us might have already drawn our conclusions as to what to expect from London come 2017 read the acknowledgment on this one because it is just as promising as the story :)
None of the usual, it's just a peaceful Christmas tale with a few "tails" being chased ;)
I did like this book for what it was, which is a fun little holiday novella. However, I wish there had been more Luka and Alex and Misc and Lauren. The other couples didn't interest me. That prologue alone made this book worth it for me--I just love Luka!
This was a perfect little novella that gave us updates on all the favorite couples. I honestly think Luka is my fav. "I'm probably going to get an eyeful, but that's the cost of being a labor buddy, understand?" hahaha I love that crazy Albanian
With so many POV it felt all over the place. Nothing Christmas-y about it , it’s actually the birth of K/R’s twin’s birth with little bit of this n that. Would have preferred more Mish n Lauren n Sacha.

I really liked this book, it was short and sweet and it was nice to see snipets from all their lives.
My fav part was definately Alex/Luka and tbh i'd love another book about them so we can see more about Luka dealing with his torture etc and just overall their relationship was really fascinating for me and the highlight of the book.
Also another great part from me was Mish/Lauren. I kinda missed them since its been so long since i've read about them and it was really great to see their relationship continue.
The other couples' stories are great and as always Klaus/Luka interactions were hilarious :P
Also I was supper excited to hear about more books coming yay!
If you're looking at book 5 in the Volkov series, there's a good chance you love her work. No one sticks around to read shit after all.
The Morning is a perfect little touch stone back into the Volkov family that we all love. I'm SO DAMN HAPPY that we'll get two more books that I'm dancing. My toddler doesn't know what to think.
Thank you London Miller for making my day and fleshing out characters I absolutely love.
I had a glimpse of my favourite characters. It was a smart move when the writer gave us a hint about Irish mob and their ties with Red. I was curious to know what his biological mother wrote and how she gave him up willingly . i can't wait till i get the whole story . I was disappointed when I read "Celt" because they have more to show and tell. I hope you give them one more chance . they deserved . London miller proved she is a talented writer when we fell in love with Volkov family. Because we loved evil and saw them angels . They are killers but they loved deeply . They can destroy anything once they feel their loved ones are in danger.Volkov series is my number one series. I fell in love with them but you are right they had their chance. focus on your new characters and your new projects. please write more books
First of all am super grateful for this novella because i simply can't get enough of the trio mish-klaus-luka. How Klaus keeps rubbing on Mish' nerves and how he tolerates him, how Luka and his dry humour drives Klaus crazy not to mention maybe half of the time they are together Klaus is planning how to kill Luka. Throw in the irish mob as holiday spice, and everything lights up the sky. Irish and russian to share territory and be family? I cant wait to see how it goes. As to a novella, the Morning really wraps up beautifully the lives of those entwined with VB. it's full of love, due to xmas spirit and simply just because.
This novella is SO cute. I couldn't keep a smile off my face while reading. I've missed everyone from the Volkov series. This was a great, fun short read that I finished in one sitting. I throughly enjoyed reading. Luka, oh how I missed my favorite crazy Albanian, and his banter between him and Klaus.. London Miller, thank you for writing this holiday novella. Looking forward to the next TWO books in the Volkov series. (Doing a happy dance)
What a tease! Just a quick tip... READ Red AND Celt from the DoM books of you don't want spoilers. I had to stop in the middle of the novel and catch up!!
I voluntarily accepted an advanced reader copy for an honest review.
Oh, how I missed all of these characters! This was such a nice update on everyone! Luka, his craziness, Niklaus, his anger, Celt, his sexy Irish self and Mischa, the main man who brings out the tenderness for his family. For anyone who loves all the past stories as much as I did, this is something to read this holiday season!
