From the author of the popular, Single Wide Female series… 199 pounds! Any 200+ lb woman on a weight loss mission, will tell you about the magic that happens when she steps on the scale and sees those magic numbers for the first time. Onederland! I’m not alone in this, right? I mean, I felt pretty amazing when I stepped on the scale and saw that number the other day. Somehow in the midst of a divorce, starting my own business, celebrating a big birthday and too many other things to mention, I’ve managed to continually work on my weight loss while tackling a few other pretty huge milestones. And on that note… I’d like to invite you to the grand opening of my new cafe, Common Grounds. My friend and mentor, Samantha Bradford, will be speaking and I’d love to fill the place up with woman who’d like to support one another and be inspired. The “Single Wide Female” books are written for every woman out there who has struggled with their weight, self-esteem and any number of issues that we all face as we work to become the best versions of ourselves that we can be.
They are meant to be light-hearted and fun, but I do hope that they will inspire you to live your life to the fullest, loving yourself completely as you do so.
** I received a copy of this book as a gift from the author in exchange for an honest review.**
'Common Grounds' was a fun and pretty inspiring read. The storyline was well written and well thought out. The way the characters were brought to life was real and faced real issues. I think that's what I love most about Lillianna Blake's work. Alex is right where some women are, and some women aim to be. I love Alex's outlook. She's such a kind and gentle soul. Willow is a hoot. I love her 'in your face' attitude. She's awesome and makes a great friend. I look forward to reading more of the 'Alex on Onderland' series. A great add to your tbr list.
I love how real the characters feel. Alex with her confidence, yet doubtful nature. The characters are mature and entertaining. I laughed out loud a couple of times and had to share a scene with my mom. Books like this are winners to me, because I feel the need to share the plot or activities of the characters.
This is a fun, new series. Loved Ms. Blake's other series, and I was hoping this new book would be just as good. It did not disappoint! I couldn't read it fast enough, and was laughing out loud as I read it. Can't wait for more. I would highly recommend this wonderful book to everyone, I think you will love it too.
