A new collection from one of the brightest new talents on the literary scene, Transition is the second volume of poetry from acclaimed young writer Rhys Milsom. The author explores the connection between modern life and the timeless yet evolving nature of our surroundings. The collection incorporates the important themes and challenges facing our world in the twenty-first century, interspersed with thoughtful descriptions of and reflections on the diverse beauty of Wales. Honest, heartfelt and uplifting, the poems in Transition offer hope and reflective messages, as well as deep-seated reflection on life today.
I love EAJ, its small plotline of the beach and the crows, it reminds me of things I've seen standing while standing by a railing at the seaside. I thought the separation of letters in Daydream was pretty clever. I liked that. All of the poems were well written, I just... didn't get them. I think the deeper meaning flew over my head because I just got a sense of what I feel were depressed thoughts written down on paper. The changes between topics (from the dangers of West Wales to accents to cows to immigration) really threw me and I struggled to find that deeper meaning behind the poems.
