Zara Stoneley is the USA Today bestselling author of The Wedding Date.

Born in a small village in the UK, she wanted to be a female James Herriot, a spy, or an author when she grew up. After many (many) years, and many different jobs, her dream of writing a bestseller came true.

She writes about friendship, dreams, love, and happy ever afters, and hopes that her tales make you laugh a lot, cry a little, and occasionally say 'ahhh'.

Zara now lives in a Cheshire village with her family, a lively cockapoo called Harry, and a very bossy (and slightly evil) cat called Saffron.

Zara’s bestselling novels include 'The Wedding Date', 'The Holiday Swap', 'Summer with the Country Village Vet', 'Blackberry Picking at Jasmine Cottage' and the popular Tippermere series - 'Stable Mates', 'Country Affairs' and 'Country Rivals'.

The story alternates between Flo and Daisy who have been friends for awhile. Flo lives in the fabulous setting of Barcelona right in the heart of the city which couldn’t be any further from the rural village that Daisy lives in. I have to say I loved both settings. I could easily envision both and whilst Barcelona definitely had it’s temptations, I must say the cottage and small village where Daisy lives, won my heart.

Both women have come to a bit of a halt where their love lives are concerned. I loved the idea of the pair of them getting away from their problems in different countries to hopefully find the answers they are looking for. Something I’m sure we would all love to do from time to time.

This story has a real feel good vibe about it. There is quite a bit of humour in it which I enjoyed. Whilst the heart of it maybe romance, it’s also about women doing it for themselves. Daisy and Flo are quite different in personalities of which both love interests couldn’t be any further from each other also. I liked that each character very much had their own strong voice and I couldn’t help fall a little bit in love with both men that Daisy and Flo were falling for.

The Holiday Swap was an engaging and fun read. Some parts had me laughing whilst other parts made be go awe. I so enjoyed the blossoming relationships between both couples and it certainly kept me entertained. A great novel to pick up and enjoy at any time of the year.

I did like this, Hugo James was my favorite character he reminded me of Rupert Campbell Black, all he needed was the roman nose and he would have been the same!

The story was slow and a little predictable but still a feel good, was a little disappointed it wasn't more festive, but still a sweet easy read, very similar to the holiday film for plot. I liked the descriptions in Barcelona although the girl only ever ate Tapas. lol

Thank you to the TBConFB family for allowing me to get all festive in August!

I'll be honest, the first thing that came to my mind when I read the title was the movie 'The Holiday'! I think my fingers were slightly crossed for it to be similar because I ADORE that film, but I have never read a book that had the same feel to it. Until now.

I am quite ashamed to admit that this is the first book of Zara's that my eyes have had the pleasure of reading! However, it is safe to say that after reading 'The Holiday Swap', I will quickly become her groupie and buy her other books!

Florence and Daisy both live lives that people would dream of living but in completely different ways. Florence classes Barcelona as her home now, yet Daisy knows 'no place like home', after all, she hasn't flown too far from the nest. Despite having quite obvious differences, both ladies have something in common; men. As both ladies try to figure out the next step in their love life journey, a change of scenery becomes their only option for self happiness. But how far are they willing to go?

I am probably not the only person that will dislike both men, I thought that they had been dragged up and not brought up! One of them was living in their own arrogant dream world, and the other, well, what an absolute.....read the book, the character can explain himself more than I ever could.

Every chapter of the book that I read, gave me the excitement and cosy feeling you get when you're unwrapping a present on Christmas morning. I couldn't wait to find out more about the characters, their lives before and their lives now. Would Florence and Daisy get a happy ending? It was a question that didn't leave my mind the whole way through. Zara's cosy and warm writing pulled me into the book with such force, I just yearned for the ladies to be happy and to live with no regrets. They had such a fantastic opportunity, a chance to find themselves, it would have been a travesty not to go for it.

For me, the storyline was quite predictable. That said, it didn't ruin the enjoyment that I got from reading the book as it was such a joy to read. I didn't have to think too much, I literally curled up on my sofa with my Kindle and surrendered myself to Zara and her enchanting words within 'The Holiday Swap'.

'The Holiday Swap' is a story about second chances, grabbing life by its baubles and making every single moment count. It is also a book that will reignite the magic of the festive season, bringing the true meaning of 'family' and 'love' to the forefront of my mind. I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'The Holiday Swap', a lovely, easy to read book to curl up with any time of the year.

The Holiday Swap by Zara Stoneley, published by Harper Impulse, will be released on the 2nd September 2016, but is available to pre-order right now from Amazon UK.

I love holidays, I love Zara Stoneley books, I love Spain and Tippermere and I love romance. If you are like me and love even some of those things, then I would suggest you may really enjoy The Holiday Swap. It's a story that feels like its loosely based on the festive film The Holiday, but with slightly less focus on Christmas, and more on the circumstances for the swap, and the two destinations.

For fans of Zara Stoneley, yes I mentioned Tippermere, we return there, but more to the outskirts, although there are brief cameos from those at Tipping House, which was a very pleasant surprise. There are also horses and dogs as you would perhaps expect, including the most adorable Irish Wolfhound.

The story is set between Barcelona and Tippermere. In Tippermere we encounter Daisy, who after she is proposed to, realises that she wants more than what her life would be if she was to say yes, and that she wants adventure. In Barcelona, we have Flo who walks in on her boyfriend cheating on her, and is eager to have any distraction from what was there shared life in Spain.

Flo, and Daisy, with the help from their other friend Anna decide to swap locations for December with the swap back to be on Christmas Eve. What neither are counting on is that there are some men that will distract them completely from their own troubles.

I loved seeing Javier show Daisy around the various parts of Barcelona and also enjoyed the talk of the tapas and wine tours which sounded tasty. I also loved seeing the sparring going on between Flo and Hugo, as she settles back into country life, including various amusing incidents, usually to do with fires or animals.

Both locations are described in details and I'm not sure I would be able to decide which I liked best, if pushed and yet both ladies have to make some fairly tricky decisions, as time runs out on their stays.

I found myself loving every second of the sun and the snow in this story, and thought with the exception of the 2 men they start the book with, that all the characters were likeable and incredibly realistic and I could really imagine them.

If you are looking for a book to ease you into the festive season then this is certainly a good start, the festiveness is not over the top, but is part of the story, due to the story being set in December. I didn't feel like I needed to set up my Christmas tree in August as a result of this book, but did find it a brilliant way to spend a Bank Holiday.

Thank you so much to Zara Stoneley for this review copy. This was my honest opinion.

Firstly, another big thanks to TBC and the author for allowing me a copy in exchange for an honest review. I have started my Christmas reading early with this one (EXCITING!). This story reminds me of the film The Holiday as its similar with the holiday swap idea BUT totally different. Yes. I loved it. The cover is beautiful, it is written beautifully and it gives you a free vacation to Barcelona! It also has the perfect ending and I am a sucker for a great ending. The Holiday swap is the perfect chick-lit, romance, drama, adventure and Christmas filled story for all you chick-lit lovers, its perfect. I do not have a bad word to say about this story at all. If you are an animal lover this is also the book for you.

I must admit I find myself very similar to Daisy who seemed to be happy in her home and little town not much of an adventurer, but the difference is I have LOTS of books to keep me company and to travel away in my mind. Stories like this do make me want to go and adventure the world but my bank account says NO. maybe one day. Anyway, I would highly recommend this book to you! It was a feel good, funny in parts read for me which I enjoyed. The perfect weekend read. Enjoy, I did.

Definitely recommend this book.
I just love books about Christmas. And as soon as I saw the cover and name I knew it was one I wanted to read. Similar story to one of my favourite movies, The Holiday, so I was hoping I would enjoy this as much. And it didn't disappoint.
Daisy is shocked at a proposal she receives from Jimmy and Flo is devastated at not receiving a proposal from Oli. Both needing time to think about their futures, they decide to swop homes in the lead up to Christmastime. Flo heads to Daisys cottage on the edge of the village of Tippermere in Cheshire, and Daisy finds herself in a city apartment in Barcelona.
A beautiful story of friendship, love and new beginnings. I loved how the the author drew me in with the wonderful descriptions of both places. (So much so that I have decided to visit Barcelona).
You will definitely enjoy this book curled up and cosy with a hot drink or by the poolside with a cocktail. Thanks to TBConFB and the author for allowing me to read for an honest review.

I received a copy of The Holiday Swap from TBC THE Book Club in exchange for an honest review.
Daisy and Flo are friends who find the perfect solution to their respective problems. A bit like a certain film they think that each would be happier in the others life.
The story flits between both friends in an easy and very readable way. You immediately warm to both characters and, although you can see what will happen, you aren't in a hurry. I read this on holiday and felt as though I was flitting between Barcelona and Tippermere, unable to decide (and constantly changing my mind) as to where I would prefer to be.
The story builds up to Christmas which was a lovely twist, I'm already longing for the crunchy snow and woolly hats. A thoroughly enjoyable book.

My favourite Christmas film of all time is The Holiday, so when I read about this book I just knew I had to read it.

I certainly wasn’t disappointed. The characters where lovely and Zara’s writing makes everything seem so real and cosy. This book is a hot chocolate, curled up on the sofa with a snuggly blanket kind of book. Its a fabulous heartwarming what’s going to happen next book. All in all I really and truly drank in this book in one sitting as I could not put it down.

This book will make Christmas feel extra magical
Thank you to the publishers and netgalley for allowing me to review this scrumptious Christmas read xx

A fun and festive chick-flick for fans of the film “The Holiday” however, don’t get hopes too high as they are not the same. Very similar in that Flo and Daisy swap places and whilst doing so discover themselves and someone else. I started the book comparing the stories and felt the start of the book slow to get into due to this. I soon reminded myself that it wasn’t meant to be a comparison and after that enjoyed the story a lot more. Would recommend.

Get ready to raise a glass of Cava as Tippermere is back but with a little Spanish twist! I love the Tippermere series (I have to admit that my own Cheshire village comes very close to all the fun and drama but maybe doesn't have quite as many gorgeous single men!) but here we get twice the fabulous settings as the cosy Cheshire village is romantically twinned with bustling Barcelona for a Christmas treat! And although Tippermere is the location for one of the swaps this is a standalone book so you don't need to have read any others (but you should anyway!!)

What I adore about Zara Stoneleys books is that you get a real sense of her locations as she writes about what she knows. All the way through I could practically taste all the wonderful tapas dishes and feel the warmth of the Spanish sunshine then, when I turned the page, I was immediately back in the Cheshire countryside, in the snow, hacking down country lanes. And then she fills her authentic settings with the most wonderful characters who are gorgeous and funny and feel like they are your friends. I adored both Daisy and Flo, who decide to swap their lives for a few weeks. Daisy isn't sure that she wants to accept her boyfriend Jimmy's proposal and Flo is expecting a proposal but she gets rather a different kind of shock instead! So it just makes sense to try living in one another's shoes, it always brings things into perspective...doesn't it?! One of the things that made this book work for me was that I loved both girls stories equally. Often when there is a dual point of view I can find myself racing through one person's chapter just to get to the other storyline but here I felt at home with Flo and with Daisy and enjoyed both of their journeys of self discovery. If you don't feel happy and relaxed and full of Christmas cheer by the end then your name must be Scrooge!

This book has been promoted as addictive reading for fans of the film The Holiday and I have to back that up 100%! I don't feel it's really Christmas until I've snuggled down under a cosy blanket with a fully loaded hot chocolate and a plate of homemade mince pies to watch The Holiday. It's a Christmas tradition that I undertake with one of my daughters every year as its her favourite film! This year I have to say that I have already preordered the paperback of The Holiday Swap to pop in her Christmas stocking as I know she will love it as much as I do! The cover alone makes me smile so I can't wait to see her face on Christmas morning (although it may backfire on me when she's too busy reading to help peel all the veg!)

I always recommend this author to fans of Jilly Cooper especially ones who love Jilly's quick witted humour and puns but struggle with the huge cast of characters and animals. This book had me smiling from cover to cover and I loved the pages of little tips at the end too. Christmas in Cheshire is going to be fabulous this year!

Excuse me while I SQUEEEEEEEEEEE! This book is so cosy and adorable it left me with a feeling of contentment which I wish I could contain in a bottle and get a little bit out each time I need to feel comfortable.

I was rather dubious reading a 'Christmas' book in September but there is a lot more to this than that, yes it does gently guide you towards the festive season but the whole story is set in a very short time-frame with a huge amount of action.

Close friends Daisy and Flo have both had a rather awkward moment with their respective men so the third in the trio Anna comes up with the ingenious plan .. swap lives and re-discover themselves. As the title suggests it's a holiday swap, set between glamorous city life and the countryside.

I loved the Barcelona aspect, having been to many of the places mentioned I could relive it myself. The atmosphere and sultry Spanish guy didn't disappoint. Javier was a sweetie and such a gentleman, it would be awesome to have a tour guide like him!

While I thought Daisy's story was my favourite part I was quickly switched back to Flo. The animals were an enjoyable addition, the humour had me in fits of giggles, how many times can a poor girl end up on her bum! I was born and bred a country girl surrounded by various animals so some of the situations were extremely plausible. Hugo was a fine art edition!

Both leading men were likeable in their own way, it shows how there really can be somebody for everyone .. if love finds you grab it with both hands!

I connected with all the girls, they made it easy to like them although I felt inclined to offer them both advice at times. A superb read, simple to fall into and be easily absorbed, plenty of romantic moments and a little nostalgia included. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will highly recommend.

Thanks to Netgalley, Zara and Harper Impulse for my copy ... this is my honest opinion.

Flo and Daisy are old friends. After spending a weekend in Barcelona they agree to swap homes for a couple of weeks to give each other a well needed change of scenery. They are both at a crossroads in their personal lives and the break gives them both a hint of new romance and able to make decisions about their futures.

The characters are all well drawn and interesting. The settings in Barcelona and the Cheshire countryside provide great contrasts and ideal opportunties for unexpected romantic embraces. I loved the story and the characters and would love to read more.

I have loved all of Zara's books and hope to see a follow on to this one!

With many thanks to Net Galley for a copy of this book.

Two women, two very different lives – one perfect solution to escape festive heartbreak!

Tucked away in the idyllic English countryside, Daisy Fischer’s cosy little cottage has always been her safe haven. But when her completely dependable boyfriend issues her an ultimatum, Daisy realises there’s a whole world out there she’s missing out on.

Florence Cortes’s life couldn’t be better – gorgeous apartment right on the beach, fabulous job and dreamy boyfriend, or so she thought. Suddenly, Flo’s life isn’t so perfect after all.

When the girls house swap for the holidays, it’s not long before Daisy is being distracted by sun, sea and sexy Javier while Flo finds herself snowbound for Christmas with only handsome neighbour Hugo and a house full of animals to keep her company.

Love actually does seem to be all around this Christmas, but in the places Flo and Daisy least expect to find it…

Daisy is a dog- groomer who lives in a cottage in the country village of Tippermere with her grumpy horse and naughty dog. When her boyfriend proposes her she finds her heart is pounding for all the wrong reasons. Deep down Daisy dreams of being swept off her feet and falling madly in love.

Flo lives in Barcelona, in a lovely apartment with a great job. When her boyfriend takes her to Paris she is hoping for a proposal, but the trip is not quite what she imagined. Both of these characters have come to a crossroads in their lives and decide to swap homes for a holiday, and find their lives change in ways they never expected.

A really enjoyable light-hearted read. Would recommend.

Daisy is quite content with her life in Tippermare until her on/off boyfriend Jimmy proposes out of the blue, suddenly she realises that she wants more from life, she wants to travel and see the world and if she marries Jimmy she will probably never get outside the UK

Flo thinks she has everything in life, a great flat in Barcelona and a gorgeous boyfriend Oli who she owns a business with, so when he books a trip to Paris on their anniversary she is convinced that he is going to propose. Unfortunately it was all a mistake and she caught him cheating on her in the next room!

Flo used to live in Tippermare and has stayed in touch with Anna and Daisy so she suggest that they come over for a weekend break and while there Anna comes up with the idea of Flo and Daisy swapping lives for a couple of weeks returning to their respective homes on Christmas Eve. This would have been a great plan if it wasn't for Daisy meeting Javier in Barcelona and Flo meeting Hugo in Tippermare.....will they be able to leave them and carry on with their lives!

A great fun chicklit book - ideal beach read with lovely characters and humerous incidents - my first book by this author but I will be looking for others

A lovely story of two women who's lives are changed by unexpected events. This is not my normal type of genre but I absolutely loved the story so much I stayed up until 3.20am to finish it!
The story focuses on Daisy and Flo, friends from school with very different lives, one stayed in Cheshire the other moved to Barcelona. As events in each of their lives take an unexpected direction a mutual friend suggests that they go to Barcelona for a break... This leads to Daisy and Flo swapping places, and this is where it got interesting.
I loved all the characters, even snooty Hugo. It was an easy and enjoyable read and I have now found yet another author I would read again.

What an absolutely heart warming read - a total huggly book!! Being a fan of Lindsey Kelk and Sophie Kinsella, this was totally on my wavelength.

Daisy lives in Cheshire in a cosy cottage. She has a comfortable life working as a dog groomer and looking after Mabel (her dog) and Barney (her cantankerous horse). Her boyfriend Jimmy thinks they should settle down but she's not convinced.

Flo lives in Barcelona and works on a lifestyle magazine with her boyfriend Oli. She has the perfect life and can't wait for Oli to propose...

Events intervene in both their lives leading them to swap houses for a few weeks leading up to Christmas. Can Daisy break free and realise her dreams? Can Flo mend her broken heart and find happiness?

I'm left with a craving for the sights and tastes of Barcelona...with a hint of crispy, British snow and a crackling fire.

Thanks to TBC for a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

The holiday swap focuses on the lives of two friends Flo and Daisy who are both having difficult times at home with the men in their lives. After a weekend spent together, they decide to swap lives and houses for a couple of weeks before Christmas.

I really enjoyed this novel and it flew by as I was easily absorbed into Barcelona and Cheshire. Daisy and Flo were lovely characters who were well described and rounded along with the new men who had appeared! The descriptions of the different locations was brilliant and made me wish I had read this before I went to Barcelona in June! The details with all the animals added a fun aspect to the book.

The holiday swap was a really enjoyable read and I enjoyed it greatly. Thanks to TBC for sending me a copy.

I was given this book by TBConFB in return for an honest and impartial review.

This was a great story and would be wonderful read during the festive season however, reading it on a beach in the summer did not detract from the story.

I enjoyed the author's portrayal of all the characters and quickly formed an attachment to the leading ladies. However the main men left a lot to be desired which again made you want the swap to work for the girls. The story is a little predictable but a very enjoyable read and I would recommended this book to anyone who enjoys easy reading with a Christmas theme.

This is the first book by Zara Stoneley that I have read. I loved her writing style and all of the characters. This book is about getting a second chance at love and life. I loved the fact that the story jumps between 2 settings, the tapas and wine tours seems like something that I would enjoy tremendously.

The ideal holiday romance as well as something to read when on holiday or when you just want to escape everyday life.

Thank you to #TBConFB and Zara for the opportunity to review The Holiday Swap I really enjoyed it.

I think I have read most of Zara Stoneley's Tippermere books and enjoyed them all. This story and slightly different characters and settings was even more satisfying than the previous.
You sort of know what will happen but both stories are credible and set in a relationship place. I do love Aries that follow characters but also, as in this case, series which follow a place so main characters in previous books are in the corners of this tale.
More please.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from TBConFB for an honest review.
Two school friends living complete different lifestyles need some space to get away from their current partners.
Having swapped to each other's locations, we read how they begin to claim back their lives and decide on their futures.
Great descriptions of the various locations helped to recreate the scenes and build up the characters. A great easy read!

I wanted to read Hallmark Christmas movies in the form of book. So I didn’t have high hopes for this one. It was okay. It felt too much like the movie the Holiday. I love the film but this book felt like a cheap imitation and oh so slow. It was an okay read but I won’t looking to read this author again.

It's not often I read soppy romances because they're just not my type of book. I picked this one up because it was festive and I wanted to read something christmassy in December, but I got ill and couldn't read so I've only just finished it. And I'm glad I finished it just now because the climax of the story was heavily set on New Years Eve and Day. It was cheesy and romantic and just a great pick me up. It put a grin on my face. House swapping is a favourite trope of mine in romance, especially at christmastime. And all the characters were likeable and fun.
