Love Unplugged #2

The Feeling of Forever

Rate this book
Juliet St. Clair has spent her life under Hollywood's spotlight. While being America's favorite girl next door has had its perks, having to testify against her stalker to put him behind bars certainly wasn't one of them. But when she thinks about walking away from it all, she can't help remembering the enormous pile of medical bills her family is drowning under. Bills that just keep on coming.

Felix Donovan had it all--stunning good looks, gorgeous women, and a spot as the drummer to a band that's sitting pretty at the top of the charts. Until one life-altering decision left him paralyzed from the waist down. He doesn't know whether to laugh or cry when he wins this year's Sexiest Man award, but the one thing he immediately does is send out a Non-disclosure agreement. Hiding his condition from the public is hard as hell, but he's not ready to face the world while he's still struggling to accept his new reality.

Except this year's Sexiest Woman--Juliet St. Clair--never looks at him with pity, only desire. But falling for Juliet means a permanent spot in the tabloids, a decision Felix isn't sure he's ready to make. And when Juliet's stalker re-emerges from her past, Felix's secret isn't the only thing at stake, it could cost Juliet her life.

All I know, that is feels like forever
All I know is I love the way it feels
All I see is how good we are together
And I never wanna see it slip away
I'll never let you go
Cause all i know...

Feels like forever by Joe Cocker

One photoshoot of the sexiest man and woman of the year winners for a Celeb magazine brings together Felix Donovan , a drummer in one of the hottest bands and Juliet St. Clair , a top A list's actress, as they instantly connect and develop a sense of companionship.

Felix was hiding for a year after his accident made him settle with a life in a wheelchair, his whole life perspective changed for worse, the band is on hold and this kind of events were out of the picture to begin with, but it was time to face the facts and deal with the cruel truth. Meeting Juliet St. Clair will change his POV in many ways but most of all she will awake the will to just be himself and try harder to take the best of the situation he's currently in, no matter how desperate it seems.

Juliet St. Clair is a sought after actress who both likes her job and her life, and dislikes it at the same time mainly cause of the constant spotlight. She made a huge sacrifice for her family, so she could take care of her sick little sisiter and her step-father, settling the huge medical bills BUT she also suffered and endured fear from a deranged stalker in the past and she's still reeling from the terrifying experience. Meeting Felix meant setting herself free again, the connection and attraction she feels when near him only fortifies the need to take a step further…she's determined, open hearted, kind and resilient…and she sees beyond Felix's condition.
“There are a lot of things in our lives that we don't have any control over, but being happy isn't one of them. I choose to be happy.“

They start a relationship that is hard to keep up steady with the hard and overabundant schedules but they are trying hard to make it work, when Juliet gets another threatning letter from the same stalker, as she learns he got out of the prison…the things around them intensify and become a chaos of keeping Juliet safe BUT somehow the actions her supposed stalker makes in harming her look more personal and when the realization hits home, Juliet will have to fight to protect the person she loves, even if that means leaving him, but also for her bare life when the threat personifies in a form of a person she kept too close.

But Felix won't stand back and watch it all go down cause she gave him smth he thought was lost with the accident and now his condition, and he wants it all with her, by his side, and in his life forever.
“I want all of my beginnings to be with you. Every first I've got left, every single last. And this feeling - the way I feel every time I look at you – I want it to be that way forever.“

This was an insta-attraction, friends to lovers story with a suspensful twist implemented and it was really easy flow in storytelling, thanks to the author's effortless writing. The characters were likable and the supporting cast of friends was right there beside h/H filling the space with funny banter and support. I also liked the suspense and goosebumps anticipation towards the end but, even though I did see it coming and guessed the villain, somehow that whole part made the main characters less together in the scenes for them developing and interacting more. I did feel that they went pretty fast into the love sphere but that, due to a really good writing and easy flow while reading, didn't bother me per se.

Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to the next instalment in the Love Unplugged series by this author.

I liked the love story and human message of it (H was disabled).

Loved the heroine.
Best lines I read lately (told by the heroine):
"Nothing in the world made my mood nosedive faster than someone making a snap judgment of someone based on their appearance. I’d seen it happen a million times with my sister—the flat-out stares on her bad days, the sideways glances on even her best ones—and at least as many times with myself. Blond? Well, I must be stupid. Willing to do partial nudity in a movie? Well, I must be a slut. Guy in a wheelchair? Well, obviously, that made him less attractive.
What. Bullshit."

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and I was totally sucked in by the blurb and cover on this one so it didn't take much persuasion on my part to read this book.

This time the story is focused on drummer Felix who has been paralyzed from the waist down in a tragic accident. When we catch up with him, he's in the depths of despair and struggling to accept his new reality. He meets Jules, a very successful, famous actress when they both win awards for Sexiest Man and Woman, respectively. There's a spark and it's the first time Felix has felt alive in a long time.

I loved Felix and I felt his struggles and his pain. He was hot and sexy and the chemistry between our couple was through the roof! I thought the romance and sex scenes were very well done. Through his connection with Jules, he finally opened up and was able to face the challenges ahead.

I ADORED Jules - she was an amazing character. Nothing fazed her even when her life was falling apart. She wasn't a complainer and even though she's had her fair share of struggles she still remained upbeat and hopeful. I also loved how she wasn't a diva and she was grateful for her success.

I figured out the stalker plotline quite early on and I was disappointed that Jules didn't figure it out. That wasn't very plausible to me as Jules is portrayed as an intelligent woman and she couldn't see what was in front of her eyes. That left me a little frustrated.

The writing is great, and the plot moved along at a nice, consistent pace.

The ending was a bit cheesy and felt rushed but then I find most epilogues are.

Overall, this was a great second installment and I'm very invested in this series and I look forward to reading Gavin's story next.

4.5 “Juliet, let me be your stalker” Stars

ARC via NetGalley

Thank you, Swerve.

Yeah, from that title up there I guess you already know I love Juliet, right? The deal is, I don’t just love her. I love LOVE her. Like Ella Harper from Paper Princess level of love.

Unlike Ella, who conquered my heart last year with her sass and take-no-bullshit attitude, Juliet made my favorite female characters ever list by being super sweet, completely relatable and pretty much perfect. I know some will say “but perfect isn’t realistic and blablabla”. Here’s my answer:

description

She’s just the best.

Before I get into how and why Juliet is book-girlfriend material, let me just thank (and congratulate) Jamie Howard for writing, yet again, a character I fall madly in love with. In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, read my review of Until It’s Right. This author is responsible for creating one of my most precious book boyfriends, Mr. Kyle I-still-love-you Lawson, and now she’s giving me a book girlfriend, too. Well, Jamie, if you haven’t noticed this from the fact that I’ve read all your books, then know you have a fan in me.

description

The Feeling of Forever is the second book in a series that focuses on the love lives of the guys in a famous band, and even though Felix, the drummer, was also an amazing character, his love interest and the female leading lady was the one who stole the show for me.

Juliet St. Clair is one of Hollywood’s favorite actresses and the Sexiest Woman of the year. She’s also nothing you’d expect from a rich superstar. Instead of demanding, Juliet gives. Instead of looking down, she sees the best in people. Instead of acting like she owns the world, she seeks peace and privacy. Juliet is good, and she’s just what we need in such a bad world.

Plus, Juliet has impeccable taste, as you can see from this:

“But hey, there was no such thing as having too much Joshua Jackson in your life.”

description

Juliet establishes herself as a force to be reckoned with early on in the story. Her attitude when she meets Felix is as perfect as it’s honest. Her confidence is reassuring, because she doesn’t have to be loud, bossy or sassy (there’s nothing wrong with those things, mind you) to show everyone around her that she knows what she wants and she’s not afraid to put herself out there. I love my sassy characters, but it’s not often that we see Juliet’s kind of confidence. A quieter but still powerful confidence. I was so, so pleased to see it.

I absolutely loved all the ways Juliet showed Felix that she was into him. How she helped him, in a not obvious way (another great thing), to move past his own fears and insecurities. How she handled herself with grace in every situation, no matter how hard life was kicking her. How she never complained or stop believing things would get better. How she fought for what she wanted/deserved.

“You deserve better and you know it.”

She shot to her feet. “I deserve whatever the hell I want. You don’t get to decide that. (…)”

description

With all of that and much more that you’ll get to see if you read this book, Juliet won my heart.

But, okay, enough of Juliet (for now). Felix will also make you feel and win your heart!

To contrast Juliet’s brighter personality, Felix has a darker side to him. I’m not sure if he’s always been like that or if it’s a result of the accident that left him paralyzed… maybe both. But even though he isn’t exactly an optimist, Felix is dealing with his paralysis much better than some other characters out there. And Jamie Howard is portraying disability with the respect it deserves.

Sure in the beginning Felix thinks himself unworthy of the best things in life, because he thinks he’s a burden—to his roommate and best friend, to the amazing, beautiful, smart and sexy girl who’s invinting him to movie nights on her couch (where things much, much hotter happen), but I kind of expected this behavior from him. Some more evolved people out there might deal with changes in their lives in a more balanced way, but most people, me and Felix included, aren’t like that. And this has nothing to do with a disability, but everything to do with change.

Change is hard, and it takes time to adapt your mentality to it. Felix is in that phase, but he isn’t alone. He has a great support system. His friends are the best (I loved the Xmas scenes at Ian’s house with all of them sleeping in the living room). His girlfriend never, I mean never, makes a big deal of the fact that he can’t walk. She never even thinks it’s an inconvenience, and that certainly helps him understand how to move forward. All of that, combined with how layered his arc is and how respectful the author's approach is, makes watching Felix embrace the big chance in his life even more pleasing.

Felix is a good guy and Jamie Howard knows how to write good guys well.

Aside from Juliet's awesomeness, Felix's arc and the incredible chemistry between them, this story stands out because of the suspense aspect. As the blurb explains, Juliet has been suffering with a stalker for years and he's back to haunt her and try to take the joy out of her life. The whole mystery wasn't as hard to figure out as some might like (I had a pretty good idea of what was happening, who was responsible and what the motive was pretty early on), but it brought something new to the story, so I appreciate it.

Truth is, with or without the stalker element, this book would've still been great. Juliet St. Clair would've made sure of that.

Now, I NEED Rachel and Ben's story, which I'm guessing Jamie Howard will be saving for last, because we already got a sneak peek of Gavin and the red-haired woman who broke his heart and I'm betting that's what we're going to see next. No complaints here because I want to know what happened, but can we pretty please get Rachel and Ben soon?

I fell hard for Juliet and Felix. Felix was going through something monumental and needed someone like Juliet in his corner. The plot dealt with sensitive issues in a tactful manner and had me engaged.

The thing I absolutely loved the best in this book is Juliet’s complete acceptance of Felix’s disability. It is never an issue for her. He is always more than his chair for her and while he is still struggling to come to terms with it, I loved that it was never a source of conflict between them. Jules likes and loves him for exactly the person he is, regardless of anything else.

In fact, I just loved Jules. She’s so completely down to earth. She’s sweet and nice and of course beautiful and successful, but she’s also geeky and fun and absolutely perfect for Felix. The way she copes with everything going on in her life and the love she has for her family are just… I think she’s superhuman at times, but I found her incredibly likeable and wanted only good things for her.

Felix was great too. His struggles are real and I like that they’re not simply glossed over or pushed aside. Jules plays a major part in him coming to terms with everything, but he has his own strengths and in turn provides a haven and support for her to cling to. The chemistry between them is scorching, but I loved that they have depth in their relationship and work really well together.

When it came to the stalker plot, I found it a bit too obvious and was a touch frustrated that others didn’t join the dots sooner. I could see why certain assumptions were made, because why wouldn’t it be the obvious choice, but likewise, when certain things didn’t add up it might have been nice if someone had asked questions a bit sooner.

Elsewhere I really liked Jules’ sister and that she was given a personality that wasn’t simply her condition. I also liked getting to know the band and seeing how their friendship worked.

In all I really enjoyed this, and although it might be my first taste from this series and this author, it definitely won’t be the last. Luckily I have the first book to catch up on while I wait for more. I’m looking forward to it already.

Four words: I. Love. This. Book!

Ok I lied, I have so many things to say about this book. The moment I saw it on Netgalley, I just knew that I need to have it. And words cannot begin to explain how excited I got when it got approved. I was worried that I was too excited and it somehow pushed my expectations too high, but boy I'm glad to find that The Feeling of Forever does not disappoint. I simply love every word and I just can't stop grinning like a fool for every banter between the main protagonists.

Our Hero, Felix Donovan, drummer of a famous band, was forced to change everything that he knew due to his injury that left his legs paralyzed. When he won the Hottest Man Alive, the last thing he probably expected was to find his half in America's sweetheart and all time famous actress, Juliet St. Clair.

I simply can't get over the character and relationship development, everything just flows so naturally, nothing forced nothing unnecessary. The writing style had sucked me in directly from the first chapter, and the plot are totally five star worthy.

Overall, if it wasn't clear from all the compliments that I uttered above, yes. I am absolutely recommending this book to all of you romance book lovers out there! Now, I need to find more books like this. It's safe to say that I'm definitely picking up more novels from Jamie Howard.

Nice, fresh story about normal people, with real problems, character flaws in everyday situations. They are very ,,normal´´ behaving despite being celebrities, h and H are very sweet together, i loved h for her attitude towards H and his disability, loved how she helped him, when they met for the first time to relax and feel comfortable. My only problem was poor research about SCI injury, how it changes your life and what it means for man to have to deal with this type of disability.
3.5

Thanks Netgalley for an oportunity to read this book

*This book was received via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*

This was a really good read that not only had romance and drama but also substance. The fact that it was not only about Juliet and Felix's struggle with fame but also about their struggle to come to terms with illness (Felix's disability and Juliet's sister's condition) really made this a more enjoyable read than the run of the mill contemporary romance. I did however find Felix's aversion to be seen in public after his accident quite annoying towards the end. I forgave him, however, as it's understandable with the trauma he went through and because he overcame his fears in order to do what was right. I really liked the ending and did not see that plot twist coming; it was a real shocker. Overall, this was a really good read that not only had substance and dram but heart.

So good. Read on a plane trip, and I actually got mad when my first flight landed, forcing me to take a break.

Juliet and Felix are both interesting, well-rounded characters. Their relationship develops naturally, and the story is well-paced.

4.5 stars -- OMG you guys, I was sucked into this one from the first chapter all the way to the very end of the epilogue.  I didn't want it to end!!  And this love mostly came down to the characters.  I am in love with both Juliet and Felix!!  I tend to develop book boy crushes on a regular basis, but my girl crushes are more rare...so I adore it when it happens!!

I've wanted to read this book since I first saw a review on one of the blogs I follow.  I mean, a celebrity romance and the hero is paralyzed (yay diversity!)?  Sign me up!  I know that sounds silly, but I was just so intrigued!!  And this book totally lived up to the expectations I had for it...actually it surpassed those expectations.

I actually read it this month specifically for one of my diversity challenges, and it fit that bill perfectly.  We got to see some of the struggles that Felix faces (physically, with society, and most of all mentally) as he continues to learn to deal with being a paraplegic, but we also just got to have a fantastic hero who just happened to be in a wheelchair.  Kind of the epitome of a great diverse read, where the diversity does come into play, but it's not all that the character/story is about.

And Felix was just a fantastic hero.  Definitely flawed, and my heart broke for the Felix we first meet, but then soared as we watch him get back to himself, and really grow into a better, stronger man.  And really learn all that he has to offer, and that it's not wrapped up in whether he can physically protect Juliet.

Juliet was just EVERYTHING.  Like I said, TOTAL GIRL CRUSH.  You get a hint in the blurb that she's not a typical celebrity, but she just isn't a typical ANYTHING!  I fell in love with her right from the photoshoot.  She was just so down to earth and straightforward, which don't sound like sexy qualities, but when you watch her just go after what she wants, and not accept less than she deserves, it's just...GAH!  LOVE IT!  And she's delightful!  So fun and knows how to embrace happiness and sunshine and light!  Obviously not all the time, she does have her own struggles, what with the stalker and all, but...I don't know.  I just wanted to be her friend.  I wanted to know her in real life.

And the two of them together were just magic.  I loved that when they had some struggles, they weren't typical, and they didn't end the way I expected.  I love it when couples embrace their love and fight for each other.

There was a pretty big element of suspense/mystery to this book that I guess I kind of wasn't expecting.  Not a bad thing, though I did figure out who the stalker was pretty early on, so it was frustrating to have Juliet and Felix not see it.  But that's the thing about books, it's so easy to see things when you're on the outside looking in.

The other major coup for this book was the secondary characters.  I am in love with Gavin...I just saw that his book is next, and I cannot wait.  Actually, I can't wait for all the band member books, and I really want to go back and read Ian and Bianca's book RIGHT NOW, even though I have other reading priorities.  We'll see if I last.  The band members were total stars, and I loved the friendship they had with each other.  I loved how they were with Felix too...supportive and pushing at the same time.  And while we didn't see much of Juliet's sister Elle, I really loved the relationship Juliet had with her, and well her whole family.

So yeah.  Totally loved this book.  The only reason it's not full 5 is because I grew frustrated with the stalker angle.  But everything else was so amazing, I almost don't even care.  I seriously, 100% happy sighed when I finished this book.  If that doesn't tell you something, well...

Juliet St. Clair is one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses. Felix Donovan is the drummer for one of the country’s most popular bands. Neither of them is particularly thrilled to find they’ve been named the year’s Sexiest Woman and Sexiest Man, but according to their publicists, there’s not much of a choice in the matter. They’re especially not thrilled to find that they’re required to do a photoshoot together. Juliet, because she was really looking forward to some downtime after her insane schedule the last few months. And Felix, well, he isn’t too happy about it since he’s been hiding from the press after a recent accident left him paralyzed from the waist down.

While neither of them expects to get too much out of the shoot, what they find is that they’re perfectly suited to each other. Felix is thrilled (although a little suspicious) when Juliet doesn’t even bat an eyelash at his present condition. Juliet appreciates that Felix seems to see past her celebrity status and piles of money and actually like her as a person. It’s not long before they’re spending all their free time together, but can a relationship between an A-list actress and a reclusive drummer actually work?

Alright, I absolutely loved this book. Both Juliet and Felix felt real, and I never once doubted their connection. Their relationship built naturally, and I loved that Felix’s paralysis was never brushed aside, but was also never used gratuitously to advance the plot. I loved that Juliet saw Felix for who he really was, and not just as some tragic story in a wheelchair. I loved that Felix cared so much for Juliet and tried so hard to protect her.

There is a side plot of a stalker from Juliet’s past who comes back to haunt her. Though this is usually the type of storyline to make me throw a book aside in disgust, I thought that Jamie Howard handled it really well. This type of storyline is usually very over-the-top, with the stalker making bold, uncalculated moves to throw the victim into a frantic state of worry, and I wonder how exactly the culprit gets away with it, and how exactly the police can be dumb enough not to find them. In this case, though, it’s more subtle.

Juliet gets an ominous note, often just a sentence or two, in an unmarked envelope. She gets a photo in the mail of a moment she thought was private. There are big moves, too, things that it would seem weird for a random person to get away with, but somehow it makes sense. Honestly, the only reason I took a star off of my rating is that I saw the identity of her stalker coming from a mile away. I can’t fault the author, though, because it’s the only outcome that makes sense.

Everything about this book was great, from the pacing to the writing to the balance between romance and drama. Excuse me for a moment while I add Jamie Howard to my list of must-read authors.

Thank you to Netgalley and Swerve for the ARC!

I bought this one after reading Phoenix77's review, and I'm glad I did. I found Juliet and Felix likeable, authentic characters and their story engaging. I downloaded All The Ways You Saved Me (book 1 in the series) as soon as I finished The Feeling of Forever. I've been burned by too many purchases of books by new-to-me authors recently, but this one was a winner.

Original review: A Novel Glimpse

Note: I received an ARC from the Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an unbiased review.

I was super excited to be approved by NetGalley for The Feeling of Forever. I've never read a book by Jamie Howard before, but I've heard amazing things about her books and have wanted to read one. I'm so happy the opportunity came about with The Feeling of Forever. I absolutely loved this book!

Juliet and Felix's relationship was adorable from the moment they met. I don't think Jamie Howard could have come up with a better meet cute situation for a couple of celebrities. I adored everything about Juliet and Felix's relationship from that very first moment they saw each other. Their thoughts about each other made me smile so much. As the story went on and their relationship strengthened, I fell in love with them even more. They were perfect for each other.

Juliet is one of my favorite female characters ever. She was such a good person. Her movie star status didn't turn her into an entitled brat. Instead, she used her stardom for good. I loved the relationship she had with her family and how it made her see the world. I loved how it made her see Felix differently than other celebrity women might have. Even in her worst moments, Juliet put others first.

Felix could have been a frustrating character to read about, but Jamie Howard ensured that he wasn't. His new path in life was tough and he hadn't given up, but he wasn't quite living to his full potential. Meeting Juliet changed his life in a good way. She gave him that little push he needed to get out of his own head.

All of the supporting characters in The Feeling of Forever were fun, too. I hadn't read the first book in the series, but it didn't really matter. The Feeling of Forever didn't give away much from it. I was also still able to make connections with the characters that originated in that book. It was like reading a standalone novel, but it made me excited to go back and read All the Ways You Saved Me and any upcoming books in this series. I'm hoping there will be several more!

The only complaint I can see anyone making about this book was that it was a little predictable. That didn't bother me. I had so much fun waiting for the story to unravel and reveal what I thought the outcome would be. There were still little surprises in store along the way.

New adult fans need to get their hands on this book when it comes out! I can't rave enough about how much I enjoyed The Feeling of Forever. Jamie Howard has a new fan.

I loved - like crazy loved - the first book in this series. All the Ways You Saved Me basically knocked my socks off, so I was beyond excited to get my hands on The Feeling of Forever and even more excited to say that I loved this book nearly as much. There's no sophomore slump here - I felt the same addictive pull to the story, the same intense investment in the characters, and the same blissed out happiness at the ending.

If you aren't reading Jamie Howard books yet, you're missing out on something special. I can't put my finger on exactly what the draw is, but I'm pretty sure it's the masterful storytelling. The story is so easy to fall into - it hooks you from the very first page and keeps you on the hook until the very last. The dialogue flows effortlessly and authentically - from flirty banter to serious, heartfelt discussions. The whole thing just feels so real, and I loved every minute of it.

Speaking of love...

I have a mad, mad crush on Juliet. I want to be her girlfriend. I absolutely adored her in a way that I have adored few other heroines. She's straightforward and kindhearted and brave. I just loved that she didn't pull any punches. She stayed true to herself and she held Felix accountable for his behavior. MAJOR girl crush going on here.

And Felix? He's not too shabby either. In fact, he ticks most of my "favorite hero" boxes: wounded, crabby, alpha protective? Check, check, check. I adored all of these things about him and more -- his growth over the course of the story was completely rewarding and his relationship with Juliet? Ugh. So good.

I loved everything about this story - from the slow burn start to Felix and Juliet's relationship, to the completely satisfying conclusion (and all of the pulse-pounding plot points in between). I figured out the mystery well before it was revealed, but because I wouldn't classify this as a mystery book, it didn't really bother me. The romance is hot and swoony and the characters are 100% loveable and - in the end? So was this book. ~ Shelly, 4.5 Stars

After loving the first book in Jamie Howard's Love Unplugged series, I couldn't wait to get my hands on THE FEELING OF FOREVER.

Paralyzed from the waist down after an accident, famous drummer Felix Donovan keeps his disability a secret from the world. When he meets actress Juliet St. Clair at a photoshoot, sparks immediately fly and their flirting quickly grows into a relationship. But going public about their love means Felix must also risk going public about his paralysis, a detail he's not sure he's ready to share. And when a stalker from Juliet's past reemerges, it's not just their relationship in danger, but Juliet's life.

There is so much to love about this story.

First of all, the banter between Felix and his best friend Gavin is hilarious, and I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in this series to see Gavin get his HEA. All the boys of The Downfall (their band) are all so different and lovable, and in addition to their romances, I enjoy seeing their friendship as well.

Juliet and Felix are both flawed, real people, and I loved watching their relationship unfold. I could feel the chemistry between them, and their banter was also adorable.

In addition to the romance, there's a great mystery element to this book. While FEELING OF FOREVER is definitely a contemporary romance, I think it will also appeal to fans of romantic suspense.

I enjoyed seeing familiar characters from ALL THE WAYS YOU SAVED ME again, although FEELING could also be read as a standalone.

My fourth favorite thing is a spoiler so I won't share it, but there's an awesome twist in this book.

I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

Short and Sweet Review:

I loved Felix and Juliet’s story. Even though the plot wasn't anything new, this was one of those rare scenarios were originality wasn't necessary. I thought both of the characters were perfect for each other. I fell in love and rooted for them as individuals and as a couple.

Unputdownable and gave me all the feels! I'd definitely recommend this book for those who love love and love getting behind good characters and cheering them on!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book!

This is the first book I've read written by Jamie Howard and I loved it! The main characters are engaging. I found the story to be well-paced and well-written. The dialogue was snappy. I loved that there was drama, action, and humor. But most of all, I loved Jules and Felix themselves. They totally came alive for me and I can't help but wish this book was turned into a movie!

Btw, I had no idea this was book #2 of a series so it can definitely be read as a stand-a-lone. I will definitely be looking up more of Jamie Howard's books.

Thank you, Ms Howard, for writing a great romance with a differently-abled hero. We need more diversity in mainstream fiction, and I thought The Feeling of Forever was a wonderful example. It manages to deal with Felix's disability without dwelling on the difficulties involved too deeply. It's a fine balance when you're working with the romance genre, but I think Howard hits that balance well. Now I've got that off my chest, I can concentrate on the rest of the book.

I read and loved the first book in this series, so when this one came up on Netgalley I jumped at the chance to review it. Although I almost passed it by based on the cover - so not the usual rock star romance style, which is good in a way but bad for lovers of the genre. Because no matter what they say, we do judge books by their covers! Once you get past the sweet and fluffy cover picture though, you're treated to a romance that follows all the usual rules while managing to keep its own voice and individuality. The Feeling of Forever is well-written, with characters that make you want to know them in real life, while at the same time maintaining that element of escapism that we all love in this genre. As a fan of rock star romances I've ploughed through a lot, and I'm happy to say that the Love Unplugged series weighs in at the high quality end of the scale, books I'd be happy to read again and look forward to the next in the series.

Jamie Howard is a book genius that I rate right up there with Kristen Ashley and Jill Shalvis!! She did an absolute awesome job with this book. Not only do you have romance but you have some suspense and intrigue going on. I loved Jamie's writing style. It kept my attention from the beginning to the very last page and I'm on pins and needles as to the next book.

Felix, oh Felix...I freaking love you!! When I read a description of a book I look for something that literally tells a story. I want a plot....I want a beginning, a middle and an ending. I want the full monty. I like to have the fullness of a story told to me. This was that and more. Felix wasn't your average guy. He's a drummer and a year ago he was in an accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. To say that he's a little down on life is an understatement. He doesn't really think that he'll ever date or go out again but then he has to do a photo shoot for Sexiest Man of the Year and he meets Sexiest Woman of the Year and they just click with a game of "Would you Rather." Jules is down to earth and she carries the world on her shoulders. She doesn't want to live in the spotlight. In fact, she'd be quite happy living her life in the shadows and being a nobody. Her assistant is the one who makes all her appearances for her since they look so much alike and she likes it that way. She can live on the quiet side of town while her assistant lives in a swanky apartment uptown. The only thing that throws a wrench in everything is the fact that she has a stalker and he just doesn't want to leave her alone...cause hello - stalker?! The thing about this book is, just when you think you know what's going to happen...you're wrong and it's taken in a completely different direction. I thought I knew what was going on because I have some keen detecting skills but I kept going back and forth. Who's the stalker? Will they get to Jules in time? It keeps you on the edge of your seat for the last 25 percent of the book and it's horrible if you have to work the next morning. I came to love Felix's roommate and I can't wait for his book. Seriously, there are just some books where you are like "I read that author, I love that author, I have to read all her other books if she has any." That's the kind of book this is. I would get this for my mother and I believe this is the one I woke her up at 3 a.m. over because of a crucial part in the book because I was like "You will never guess what happened in the book I am reading?" Yes, we are THAT type of family...we wake each other up if we read something that shocks us, makes us laugh, or makes us cry!!!! Well done Jamie Howard on this book!

I was given a copy of this ARC from the publisher on Netgalley for a honest review. All of the above comments are my express opinions and no one else's.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for sharing my fair and honest opinion.

Having been a huge fan of Jamie Howard since Until It's Right, I was excited to dive into The Feeling of Forever. This time, she brings together the Sexiest Man and Woman alive for a photo shoot that sends sparks flying between Hollywood starlet Juliet St. Clair and recently paralyzed-from-the-waist-down drummer Felix Donovan. Their romance certainly isn't easy, what with Juliet's stalker to contend with and Felix's unwillingness to bring his injury into the eyes of the public or accept that Juliet could possibly love him, even though she's the only one that looks at him without pity.

As I've come to expect from Jamie Howard the romance in the novel was great, and the characters realistic flaws and reactions make for a fantastic read that you'll want to devour in one sitting. Juliet and Felix are a couple you're going to want to root for, even when Juliet's stalker and the couples' own insecurities do their best to keep them apart. I definitely recommend for romance fans - will make for a great beach read this summer! This review was originally posted on Electively Paige

Jamie Howard has a way of creating deep, dynamic characters that reach from the pages. Juliet is a sought after actress and Felix is a rocker who is wheelchair bound. They meet by chance on a photoshoot. Its insta-love.

Juliet's stalker adds some suspense and danger to the building relationship. As if a relationship between an actress and a rock star isn't already difficult enough, once you add the stalker, it becomes nearly impossible. But, Felix isn't giving up and I loved that about him! Juliet tried to push him away to keep him safe (Not my favorite plot device) and I was thrilled that Felix saw through that.

In the end, I think the ID of the stalker and how it would all play out was predictable, but it didn't really dampen the story for me since the stalker was more of a sub-plot. For me, the real meat of the story was Juliet and Felix. What Howard has written is a very character driven story about 2 people in difficult professions with difficult histories making love a priority!

I absolutely adored the first installment in the Love Unplugged series. It brought me to tears and tugged at my heartstrings. I loved it so much, I immediately went and bought books 2 and 3. I finally finished The Feeling of Forever and had mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I really wanted to love Felix and Juliet the same way I loved Ian and Bianca's story. And while Felix's journey after an accident confines him to a wheelchair was inspiring, I had a difficult time relating to Juliet. She's a superstar actress and suffering from the usual pitfalls of fame. Her backstory made her much more likable and pitiable, but for some reason, I just couldn't connect to her and Felix's romance. All the Ways You Saved Me felt so grounded in reality, that the conflict surrounding Juliet's stalker and the big reveal was a little too predictable and a bit too larger-than-life. However, I still enjoyed hanging out with familiar characters and getting to know Felix. The Feeling of Forever was also just as well written as I've come to expect from Jamie Howard.

4 1/2 Stars!

The Feeling of Forever is book two in the Love Unplugged series. I didn't read the first one, All The Ways You Saved Me, and I was okay reading this one. I didn't feel lost so I would say you can read this one as a standalone.

Juliet is a Hollywood star. Although she is a star she is down to earth and not up tight. Felix is the drummer of a band. He's had an accident and is paralyzed from the waist down. They are both super sexy and voted Sexiest Woman and Man of the year. They meet at a photo shot. Felix is still hung up on being in a wheelchair but Jules is amazing and doesn't treat Felix any differently. They have a connection. I was totally hooked on their story. They start a relationship but they have their crazy schedules, Felix being paralyze, and Juliet have a stalker. They are happy times, frustrating times, sexy times, and suspenseful times in this story. Juliet and Felix are great characters and I loved reading their story.

Hot guy in hot wheels with a pair of hot drumsticks embroiled in a hot romance. That's Felix Donovan for you. Once he was a playboy and had no qualms whatsoever about love and women. But an accident had paralyzed him from waist down and soon he wasn't so sure of himself. Until he met one of the hottest and sexiest woman in Hollywood. Julie St. Claire. He never expected her to love him in return, but Cupid has other tricks in mind, and shot St.Clair with his arrow and life has been a bed of roses ever since.

Until that ex-con stalker was set on the loose. Now Julie received letters and gifts that any other woman would love to receive, except these were laced with threats and malice.

I loved this book from start to finish. I love a character that knows how to see the wrongs of his ways and strives to change for the better. I love the character that doesn't look at the physical disability of a person, but also accept his flaws and shortcomings. I love a character that is selfless and benevolent towards the ones she truly love, and that's her family.

And I love a story filled with loving supporting characters and a plot laced with twists and turns, albeit a little predictable. Yes, this Feeling of Forever I actually need after a stressful week. I love this story by Jamie Howard because it is well-put, well-written and well-researched, too. My first book from Howard and I'm already sold! Would be reading the other Love Unplugged stories really soon!

Winning Sexiest Man Alive would be a honor for most men, but for Felix Donovan, the things he’d have to do to accept such an accolade like photo shoots and actually accepting the award, is too much to handle. Since Felix doesn’t want anyone knowing about his accident or how serious his injuries are. Having everyone involved sign non-disclosure agreements is the best way to maintain his privacy, but Juliet ‘Jules’ St. Clair –the woman voted Sexiest Woman Alive – begins to make him realize that hiding isn’t the answer, especially with the threat of a stalker hanging over both their heads when their relationship puts him in the stalker’s sights. Can Felix and Juliet discover who the stalker is before it’s too late, or will their chance at happy ever after be ripped away? Read More

Heroes are normally large, brawny men who are practically indestructible, so reading about a man adjusting to his new circumstances was a wonderful change of pace. I applaud author Jamie Howard for creating a hero with a disability. The Feeling of Forever is strongest when showcasing its leading lady helping her man move past his limitations to see what he’s capable of.

The editors of Celeb! Magazine have spoken and the year’s sexiest woman is none other than Juliet St. Clair. With her popularity on the rise it’s no wonder Juliet was selected but the photo shoot couldn’t have come at a worse time. After weeks on location for her latest movie all Juliet really wants to do is go home to New York and stay out of the limelight for a well-deserved rest. A mix-up by her personal assistant doesn’t leave Juliet much of a choice but to accept the scheduled appointment with the magazine; however what has her really confused is their additional request that she sign a non-disclosure agreement before arriving at the shoot.

The non-disclosure document is one of the conditions drummer Felix Donovan’s people requested when he was named the year’s sexiest man. His band The Downfall is still high on the charts from their last hit single but a planned tour was put on indefinite hold after Felix was hurt in a freak accident and paralyzed from the waist down. Having to rebuild his life around his disability over the past year has been a tough transition for Felix. He was always the one teasing people who were self-conscious about their appearance, but just thinking about what the fans will say about him being in a wheelchair has made him a virtual recluse. If it were up to Felix alone, he wouldn’t have accepted the silly title or agreed to the photo shoot. The other members of the band are sure the exposure will help the group bounce back from delays in releasing new music. Reluctantly, Felix accepts their decision and shows up at the studio hoping the magazine and this year’s sexiest woman will help him keep his secret just a little bit longer.
