So overall, very good werewolf trilogy, sad to see it finish. Blackmore is by far my favourite indy author and I hope he gets to work on a new horror series shortly (more Isosceles Moon please). I enjoy his writing style a great deal, he's pretty good at creating down to earth, funny characters that are easy for the reader to like, he usually includes kickass female characters, and he has no problems with having the main characters getting their butts handed to them, and having the male characters whine and whimper (a bit annoying, big bad sissy werewolf??), rather than making them invincible. He's pretty good with action sequences and writes a really nice story.
He starts off the novel with a couple of surprises that really pissed me off, and for the first quarter or so of the book the main character is simply walking, and freezing, from A to B. I found myself saying "change into a werewolf to stay warm and move faster you dumbass."
He does an excellent job with tying up all the loose ends to the series in this novel and he has created an interesting werewolf creation myth. The series was fun and well worth it.

Really enjoyed all 3 books. Shames it's just a trilogy. Looking forward to what is next from Mr Blackmore. Especially if it's a mountain man novel!

Really liked the action and direction of this book. Starts off with a…bang 🤯 very nice way to wrap things up. I could read more of this story! Sad it’s over

Great trilogy, very well written and I loved the characters.
I am a little disappointed as this is the last book in the series.
Detailed descriptions of fight scenes and transformations.
Full of guts and gore!
I especially liked the direction story was going towards the end, I enjoyed the ending, The epilogue was okay.
I was shocked with some of the main characters deaths. But I enjoyed the characters developments and their questions that had to be answered.
without spoiling the story all I can say is it's very well written and you will not be disappointed.
Only start from book 1, It's not a standalone book.
I am very tempted to Kieth C Blackmore's "Mountain man".
I have read a lot of good reviews about this particular series.
Enjoy.!

The last book in Blackmore's series opens up the cast and the world even more. The author continues to lovingly describe people and kill them (which reminds me of Stephen King, really). I would not be surprised to check the page count and find out this book was at least twice the size of the previous two, which I was quite happy with since Blackmore kept the story moving and let it take up the space it needed with the exception of the very end which felt rushed. I would also have been satisfied if he'd made it two books.

The violence/adventure is good, but then he goes and enlarges on that trickle of a romantic thread that played through the second book. Well, I can forgive him because this still definitely wasn't a paranormal romance series.

Finally, if you hate being able to spot what the "big reveal" is at the end of the series, well, walk away from this one because it was completely obvious to me near the start of book 2. I enjoyed the journey, but I can also see where some would find it too predictable.

I have just finished all three books and I highly recommend this series. The story line is unique and had me glued to it. The only thing delaying me was a cracked kneecap. Finished now and I know I will read this series again. I had read the Mountain Man bk 0.5 and 1.0 which had me searching for more by this author.

This was a fab ending to this werewolf horror series!

Breeds 3 had some very unexpected twists and like the other books in the series it had plenty of gore and action.

I can't review this book without spoilers so read at your own risk.

This is book 3 and the series continues to go downhill. At the start of this book Morris knows absolutely and Kirk should know that the werewolf "elders" are tying to kill them. In spite of this Morris fails to plan AT ALL. Worse is the STUPID way Morris is killed: A young woman shows up at Morris's door asking to use his phone but, when Morris sticks his arm out the door to give it to her she refuses to come closer claiming Morris may be trying to lure her within reach to pull her into the cabin LIKE HE COULDN'T JUST COME OUT AN GRAB HER IF THAT WAS WHAT HE WANTED. WORSE, RATHER THAN JUST THROWING HER THE PHONE OR TELLING HER TO GO AWAY MORRIS KEEPS SCREWING AROUND UNTIL THE SNIPERS KILL HIM. ESSENTIALLY MORRIS' IS AN ABSOLUTE MORON FOR EVEN BEING IN HIS HOUSE WHEN HE KNOWS THE ELDERS WANT HIM DEAD, THIS WHOLE SCENE IS JUST BEYOND BELIEF STUPID.

Kirk's story line is equally as stupid. Suspecting the elders are trying to kill him he lets a stranger into his home on the dumbest of pretexts, without even attempting to verify his cover story. Dumb luck that Kirk, feeling sorry for himself, keeps his blinds closed and stays inside so no sniper possibility. Dumb luck that Kirk gets the one assassin who can't kill him with a gun at point blank range. Then Kirk, the idiot, drives to Morris', the one place he should know the killers would get to ahead of him. Of course Kirk forgets to grab his phone or keys when fleeing his apartment because that would have made too much sense. Dumb luck that Kirk escapes the assassins at Morris'. Then Kirk begins a cross-country hike to his ex-girlfriend that is virtually nothing but dumb luck: Having to scavenge clothes, Kirk ends up dressed like a crazy person, yet he gets picked up hitchhiking. Then he injures himself and his super healing powers fail to come to his aid so he is taken in by a nice man who feeds and shelters him. Then, worse of all, and for no real reason, Kirk stupidly gets taken prisoner by a couple of normal humans who just so happen to be in the business of kidnapping and selling humans for their organs. This whole story line serves no real purpose- sure the author uses it to motivate Kirk to explore his werewolf powers but I would have thought running for his life could serve that purpose. No, this whole story line is contrived and stupid.

After the organ harvesters, Kirk, connects with his ex and they finally do some intelligent things that amount to quickly and easily finding two elders, killing them and taking all their stuff.

Bottom line: This book wasn't terrible to read because the scenes were well written but when the story is taken as a whole the MCs are morons and conclusion is bizarrely convenient.

Fantastic Read for horror lovers!

The author has outdone himself in the modern horror genre in this third book of the Breeds series. I don’t want to create spoilers…so I’ll just say it’s about modern-day werewolves, and that reading the first two books of the series first will enhance your enjoyment of this one. It has a great ending…leaving both the reader and the author to end the saga here as a fulfilling conclusion, or expand on the “wereworld” at a future date if the author is so inclined. There’s a satisfying amount of action, blood, and gore, combined with a good storyline. PS-LOVED the twist at the end!!!

Just brilliant! This trilogy is up there with James Herbert’s The Rats Trilogy (and that’s saying something!!)

Doesn’t happen very often but I’m quite sad I’ve finished these books! They were so good, from start to finish. I had to read one after the other too as I just couldn’t wait.

If you love a werewolf story you’ll definitely love these. So much Action, obviously gore, really likeable characters (I was rooting for the were’s the whole time!) Plenty of twists and surprises too. Got quite upset at times but I was brave and carried on!

Just read this trilogy. I’d bet money you’ll love it too. 💙🐺

Robust and fitting...end?

I really enjoy when I have no idea where an author is taking a story. I read a lot. Like a lot. And it's rare that a story takes pivots and directions that I don't expect. This story took multiple and admittedly I had no idea where it was going or how it was going to conclude while tying all loose ends. However the author did that splendidly. Great work!

Looking for a Lycan-based trilogy that will not only keep your attention, but will have you looking forward to your evening reading time in the middle of the day? The character development is neither overly nor under seasoned, and it's all served up on a high paced platter of well-done excitement. The only drawback to this mini series is that it ended!

Amazing series

I typically read in bed to help me unwind, relax and fall asleep with plans to read 20-40 pages a night. That’s what I did with the first Breeds book and it took me about 5 days to finish. But once I started Breeds 2, I finished it in 3 days and then immediately started Breeds 3 and finished in just over 2 days.

Enjoyable and great series. Highly recommend.

Great finish to Keith Blackmore's Trilogy though I am sad it is over. I enjoy the way he jumps straight forwardly into story - I couldn't put it down and read it all night! What a great story teller!

3.5

Took a long time to finish as there were a few character deaths I wasn't happy about. (shakes fist at KB). But overall decent werewolf story. The fight with the bear in the forest was hilarious stuff. I'll miss Kirk and Morris. Looking forward to reading this author's zombie books.

couldn’t complete

I always finish books. But couldn’t finish this one. The main character continues to be very poorly written.
Not worth time. Concept interesting but development not good.

Another great book! Keith C. Blackmore is definitely one of the most underrated authors out there. His writing is great and his metaphors and similes are second to none.

Were’s

Not the best of the 3 but excellent. Descriptive sentences get a little over the top here & there. Great story. Recommend the trilogy & would read a 4th if Keith wrote it.

Solid finish to the story, and did not have a predictable ending. I wonder if KCB will ever revisit this universe in the future.

Really Good!

Not quite as good as the Mountain Man series, but pretty darn close. I would buy the next book in the series, if there was one.
