Over simplified from what is actually required to keep bees, having kept bees myself this first year, beginner's should be weary of this over simplification
This book is horribly repetitive in a way that makes it seem that the author struggled to meet a word count requirement, which is bizarre since the book is so very limited in actual informational content. It is also far too conversational to be informative. It's actually quite effective for asleep to.
This is a very informative and we'll written guide for the beginning bee keeper. It was short and articulate, just the kind of material for about an hour of entertaining knowledge.
A good very basic, short introduction of under an hour, which answered a number of questions that I had about keeping bees. The book's "beekeeping is a great hobby" message is frequently repeated, so the book and could have been even shorter. And it was written in the US, so anyone thinking about starting beekeeping elsewhere like here in Canada would be wise to also check out more local information. For the particular sections like materials required, building the hives and keeping the hives, illustrated content would be practical, so this audiobook format falls short there.
While this doesn't include everything I needed to know before starting with bees (How much honey do I need to leave the bees for the winter?), it does include enough information, well presented, to help the newbie know what questions to ask.
