Lana set out to paint the whole town red and I was here for every single moment of it 🙌

This book held true to its name as I went through soo many different emotions—both good and bad. I went into this almost blind, but I knew it involved a serial killer named Lana and an fbi agent who is falling in love with her—not knowing she’s the one he’s after, so what could go wrong.. or right for them. The concept was pretty brilliant lol but I didn’t expect all the insane stuff that I would be met with?! Just prepare to be ready for anything and everything

Lana’s persona gave off literal Dexter, the punisher and Emily from revenge vibes and I think they would be proud with Lanas wrongs and rights to which I support. I do have to say how the aspect of moral ambiguity is apparent here but it wasn’t questionable for me in retrospect to the trauma and just everything she had to endure. My heart broke for her, but I admired the strength she had and I was rooting for her ALL THE WAY throughout her quest for revenge.

I appreciated Logan and Hadley for the role they played in Lana’s life, even though I had some issue with them at one point but thankfully they redeemed themselves. Now Lana and Jake?? Absolutely loved those two and that ending? We ultimately love a supportive man lol

I consider Lana to be a fav among fmc's I've had the pleasure to read about with how much of a mastermind and how badass she was 🖤 I understand the hype

So at first, I was really scared to read this series. I mean, there's no way that there's a series that literally everyone is obsessed with; it's just unrealistic, right?! No, it was realistic. This series was perfection; it has everything anyone could want to read not everything everything. The series shocked me in the best possible way; it mind-fucked me in the most perfect way. I'm literally obsessed with it.

I must say you need to check the trigger warnings. This series has a lot of graphic scenes (most of it actually), and it deals with really sensitive topics, so not everyone can read it.

The writing was really not the best at all for me. At the first book, it really bothered me, and I was actually so disappointed because I thought it was going to be overhyped as I thought, but when I got to the second book, I was begging to overlook it. I mean, it wasn't getting much better, but you won't have time to think about whether the writing was good or not (literally), but I can say that I felt it was really improved at the fourth and fifth books.

This series was super fast-paced; it wasn't from the first page; for me, it was from the last of the first book. Then,  when I literally became hooked on it, I was flying through the books and devouring them. The story became so addicting that I wasn't able to stop reading and thinking about it. It's just that you'll constantly want to know what happened, what she's going to do, and how her story will go! And also, one of the best things about this series is how short the books are. That was really perfect. I feel like if it were as long as the normal books, I would get bored at some point and wouldn't be as hooked as I was.

I can't tell you enough how perfect this plot was and how much I loved it. This is what'll make you overlook anything you don't like and every cliché moment in the series; you will be constantly reading, turning pages without pause; it'll keep you on the edge of your seat all the time. It was truly captivating. That's all I have to say.

The author didn't focus so much on the romance, and that was totally fine for me. I usually don't love insta-love, and I know most of you don't either, but it was really fine here. I mean, a slow burn with revenge and suspense would be too much. As I said, the romance was mostly just a subplot, but I loved their moments together so much. It was rare, but maybe that made it more enjoyable. Loganlana were so good together; their chemistry was everything; they were just made for each other.

not going to lie. I thought we were not going to get the ending that would satisfy us, and that was really scaring me, but thank God I was wrong; it was really such a cute ending. I have to admit it was rushed, but considering how short the books are, it was an inevitable thing.

The best thing about this series, in my opinion, is how it can make you feel all the emotions at once. I was giggling and smiling for one second, and then, at the next, I was bawling my eyes out. It was a roller-coaster of emotions in every sense of the word, and sorry, but if a book (a series) can make you feel all the types of feelings at once, what else do you want? 
 
This was such a wild ride; it was so overwhelming, the amount of emotions it gave me was crazy. And, omg, it was so painful to read about, but I really love these dark and painful books. I love when the book touches my soul and leaves its mark on me, then when I just know this book is going to stay with me for a lifetime. It just I kind of hoped it was written in a better way, but still, I'm going to love this forever.

Aaa Lana, my queen. She's everything to me. She's my favorite FMC so far hands down and Jude and Oraya; she's such an incredible, strong, and survivor woman. She has been through a lot; I can't imagine anyone going through the same. My heart aches for her so bad that I want to give her the biggest hug ever. Her revenge is non-negotiable; this sick, twisted town and those sick bastards deserve everything she did to them and even more. Every time she does anything, I have this stupid-ass grin on my face. I'm not gonna question my sanity, I'm totally fine It just Justice in my eyes.

✧ ˚. ᯇ Logan Bennett ୨୧

Aaa, my charming ssa Bennett, he was so perfect. We didn't get as much depth for his character as Lana, but that was understandable, and I still felt that I knew him well enough. I loved him so much, and I really felt sorry for him for being lied to. Until he did what he did, oh god, I was so angry I wanted to chock him with my bare hands, like no man should ever do that. But at least he admitted his fault right away.
Did I forgive him? yes. Am I going to forget what he did?! no, never. 

Still, he was such a sweetie for her, and what he did in the ending was the cutest, so I still love him so much. 

꒰ ִ ֺ ⊹ Because Lana Meyers has been in my head since the day I met her, and it'd be nice if someone noticed I was missing. - the risk ⊹ ֺ ִ ꒱

Omg, there were so many side characters. Every couple of chapters, someone new would pop out of nowhere. I was so lost between all of them. But there's the most important ones. the ones I remember

Jake, he's my genius man. I loved this man so much; he has a very big rule with Lana's revenge plan, and his love for her was everything. He was such a cute patotie. 

Hadley, I love this girl so much; she made this series, in my opinion, better. And she has a red hair.

Leonard was such an amazing character. I loved how he was defending her without even knowing her. I loved his side story. He was so smart.

i’ll admit i was a little skeptical going into this series. i kept wondering “how good could it possibly be?”, but wow, y’all were absolutely right—this series was AMAZING and deserves all the hype.

i was originally going to rate it 4.75 stars, but i haven’t been this consumed by a series in a while, so 5 STARS IT IS!

the books were incredibly fast-paced and action-packed—not once did i feel bored. i was so invested in lana’s revenge and the romance that i didn’t even bother trying to figure out who the true villain was lol.

lana and jake were geniuses. their revenge plan was so meticulously thought out and flawlessly executed. their bond went beyond friendship—they were like brother and sister, supporting and loving each other unconditionally. it was truly heartwarming to see them always stand by one another.

First of all, where has this series been all my life, because this was everything I wanted and more!

The protagonist Lana Myers is the victim of horrible crimes against her and her family, and this is the tale of her revenge.

When I say 'crimes' that's putting it lightly. What they suffered at the hands of these monsters left me feeling numb and sick to my stomach.

To defeat a monster, you have to be twice as monstrous.

This series is a trigger-warning galore, and it's absolutely not for sensitive readers.

For ten years, Lana bides her time and hones several skills necessary to bring them down. She has the help of Jake, a family friend and her dead brother's boyfriend. The two of them have planned their revenge perfectly over the years, and now its show-time.

There’s a certain high you get from fooling the world into thinking you’re the lamb instead of the rabid wolf.

Amidst her revenge-spree, Lana meets and falls in love with Logan Bennett, an FBI profiler who is investigating the Scarlet Slayer killings (it's the name media gave to Lana).

She's not delusional, and knows what will happen when he learns of her identity.

I’m just a girl in love with a man who’s destined to hate me when he learns the truth.

This five-book series was intensely addictive, and I devoured it in less than 48 hours. It was incredibly fast-paced, and kept me at the edge of my seat.

I thought love would rip my heart out.
I thought it would set me on fire.
Instead, it turned me into ice.

I loved the connection between the characters, especially how the bond between Lana and Jake is depicted.

“You know you’re my second favorite brother, right?” I ask him, a joke I’ve said since we were kids.
He laughs against the side of my face. “Yeah. I know. Just like you’re my favorite sister, but only because you’re the only one I have.”

Lana is a kick-ass protagonist, and she's officially the strongest female character I ever read about.

As for Logan, he's a sweet and kind man who is conflicted between what he knows is right, and what he feels is right.

Nothing else mattered at all.
Nothing I stood for was worth more than her.
Nothing I valued held any true value at all.
Everything I have is pointless without her.

Now that I'm done with this series, I have no idea what to read after this, because there's no way anything can ever compare to this! Even the epilogue was freaking awesome 🖤 ✨

P.S.: The series cover looks like a twisted version of Twilight's and I love it!

➼ In this story, we follow a double pov, Lana Myers, who is a serial killer with a desire for revenge for something that happened in her past, which is revealed little by little, and Logan Bennet, an FBI agent, who pursues serial killers and is investigating Lana's case.

➼ I recommend reading the trigger warnings because they may hurt the sensitivity of some readers, the content is a bit heavy and on several occasions my heart sank with the story of Lana's past.

➼ This book presents you a moral dilemma about what is right and what is not, about whether it is right to take justice into your own hands in certain cases and it really does not leave you indifferent in any way

➼ Now, about the plot and pacing of the story, it was amazing, super addictive, quick to read and easy despite some strong scenes. For readers who read in English, but this is not their first language, the level of English is easy and simple.

The characters were all incredible:
- Lana: Of course, the best character, an incredible main character with whom you manage to empathize despite the barbaric acts she commits, she makes you want to join her crusade and see how she hurts all those who made her suffer. A strong, determined woman willing to do anything to reach her goal.
- Logan: I really liked him as a romantic interest even though the romance was a sub plot for me. His morals are tested during the books and the decision he makes is… let's leave it interesting hehe. (read it and you will know).
- Jake: STEP AWAY, LET MY FAVORITE CHARACTER PASS, BISEXUAL KING AND HACKING GEEK. He is funny, intelligent, and really supportive, what else y'all want??
- Leonard and Hadley: Amazing secondary characters, especially Hadley. They both contribute a lot to the plot and you end up becoming very fond of them.

✦ 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬, what she went through is what no one should go through. I wanted to cry, throw up, hug Lana because not a single person deserves that. The way this girl survived the depths of hell, I read the pages, and I bawled my eyes out for her while she took a knife, lifted her head, and promised to herself and everyone who's suffered from that town that she’ll get justice. That right there is what you call badass. My heart was cheering every single time she killed one of those sick fucks, I could feel her anger and hatred in my bones. She is a survivor, a boss, a queen in a million different ways and I will forever aspire for her bravery. Lana supremacy forever.

✦ 𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐭, this book didn't revolve around the mmc however I couldn't possibly ask for a better one. He was the most caring, sweetest, HOT person ever. I mean the way he won her over in like a minute? Smooooooooooooooooth. I loved his character so much and how well he fitted with Lana. The way he made Lana feel like she belonged, like she was alive, he truly was the missing piece to her jigsaw puzzle, and I was here for it every single moment.

✦ 𝐉𝐚𝐤𝐞, he was, hands down the best. My heart ached for him so much, to know how Marcus and Lana suffered but not a single soul listened when he tried to tell them what happened to these siblings. The fact that his love for them was forbidden was one, but when no one even turned their head and covered all the mess and blood, that ripped my heart out, it made me cry for him. I loved how protective he was of Lana, his brotherly vibes radiated so much in the best way possible.


✦ 𝐇𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐲, her sudden friendship with Lana made my heart melt. I loved how protective she became of her, I literally love her so much, and my heart reaches out for her, my angel girl, you didn't deserve anything you went through and it's not your fault, never your fault. Also stop - she is a redhead, i repeat a redhead. One, I personally love red hair but also because that color becomes very important in this series and symbolizes many things, but more than anything, it symbolizes justice. It was as if Hadley was always faithed to find this path of life, and I love that.

✦ 𝐋𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐝, his character was so precious, he took so much effort convincing Logan to see why the serial killer is doing this and it's for justice, he was defending Lana so much I wanted to give him a hug and tell him he's the best.

✦ 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, FBI x serial killer, that should say everything!! This series didn't make the romance the main highlight, but I'm totally fine with that and I still ate up all their moments together. It was also very insta-lovely but i genuinely don't care because omg their duo is world shattering. I loved their scenes together, their dynamic and their chemistry. The romance was written flawlessly even though it wasn't the main focus. They just couldn't be more perfect for each other.

✦ 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, I'm going to be real; the writing could have been a lot better; it was initially really hard for me to get invested in the book and start my binge fest. However, I loved how pain was written because I was hurting. Bad. It clawed at my heart and shattered it into a zillion pieces. It made me sob for hours (not joking), it made me close the pdf to just breathe, it made me get up and leave, it made me binge sad music because I could never ever imagine what it would feel like to go through such an experience.

✦ 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐞, the books were really fast paced from the moment I got hooked, I was struggling with the writing in the book for a while so only when things started to accelerate in the plot, I started to binge it. I especially loved how short the books were because as im in a hiatus i'm doing my best not to pick up the series, but this one could easily be finished in less than a week for sure and it made the br so much easier.

✦ 𝐏𝐥𝐨𝐭, without a doubt, the plot was the biggest strength of this book, it was executed so perfectly and left you on the most suspenseful cliffhanger after every book that if you don't start the next one write away, you'll die. The plot slayed so hard I didn't have time to concentrate on all the negatives when S. T. Abby had me sitting on the edge of my seat. This book has a lot of content that many people could be sensitive to so please read the trigger warnings before you decide to read this series. It gets very heavy sometimes and the descriptions can actually make you sick so once again, please read the trigger warnings.

╰┈➤ Listen, if there’s one character I’d sell my soul for, it’s Lana. She’s absolutely lethal, murderous, and the biggest sweetheart ever. I adore her entirely and nothing can ever change that. But, as you guys probably know, she is a serial killer. She hunts the very people who ruined her life, and nothing can stop her. Not even love! I’m not one to defend serial killers, but I mean it when I say I stood up and cheered every time Lana killed someone. She’s a layered character, she’ll make you cry and laugh and then she’ll flabbergast you with her utter brutality towards the men of her past. I’m a woman and I still said “ouch” every time she cut someone’s.. genitals.. off.

➳ anger. that is what this book makes you feel for the entirety of it. followed by the finale, which offers you complete satisfaction. I think a good book is determined by how good it is at making you feel the very emotion it wants to convey. this book conveyed MANY emotions but rage is the strongest, pure feminine rage at a world so corrupt that actions don’t always have consequences. complete anger at the realization that justice is a rare occurrence. sadness, anger, and finally satisfaction. a good author knows how to execute that, S.T. Abby was a fantastic author.

In fact, I’m currently still suffering for my temporary hate towards Hadley.

╰┈➤ Almost called him my second favorite character but no, he’s equal to Hadley. This is the MVP of the entire series. Literally everything that happened would not be possible without my man Jake. Plus the relationship between him and Lana is one of my favorite parts of the series. All they had for years was each other, pulling one another out of their own little hell. They genuinely love each other like siblings, and knowing the context + the backstory makes it all so much sadder. They needed each other. In the last book when Jake was talking to Lana when every thing was burning down.. oh man I was crying so so hard. He was there for her, and it was adorable.

Whatever reasons you may have for casting it aside, don’t. This book is fantastic, enticing, entertaining, fun, and emotional. If you want a book to snatch you up and take you away from reality for hours at a time, this is the one.

As a "Criminal Minds" girlie through and through, I love this book with all my heart.

🖤🩸 Let's start with Lana Myers.
A.K.A. The MF top of the list when I say " I support women's rights but most importantly I support women's wrongs.
She is one of, if not the most, ICONIC FMC that I have read and I say that with all of my chest and my heart.
Her backstory is absolutely heart wrenching and heartbreaking. No matter how many times I read it I cry each and every single time because it is absolutely horrendous.
The way she takes power back into her own hands is what I think the true message is in the end.
Yes the killing and everything but also the fact that this horrible experience made her this badass woman that she is.
She is iconic. She is the moment. And she is just amazing imo. She is also written in a way where we can see Logan start cracking her shell and while she is afraid she still goes for it because she feels something can be different. We see all her different sides with Logan. How she wants to protect him but she also wants to be selfish and I love seeing those sides of her.
Anyway to summarize Lana Myers is ICONIC… fight me…

Side note, I did not realize that Logan is blonde until I reread again now. Like I did not remember that at all.
Now I don't have an issue with blonde MMCs it's just they always give me "nice guy" vibes (and not always in the best way) but Logan Bennett is on the short list of Blonde MMCs that I have absolutely no issue with.
Now, should he have realized the connections sooner? Maybe… probably… anyways I think it was him falling in love with Lana that made him "blind" to everything surrounding her and the connection to the case if that makes sense…
His absolute obsession makes me so happy. The way he protects her even before they actually get serious is so cute!!! I love it!
And also the end scene where he is sitting with Christopher, I don't know why but that scene is so hot to me… I mean proving he will do anything for Lana and we love to see it.

The story grabbed my attention from the very first page. I was already in love with Lana and Logan, although I’m a bit upset with Logan for how he treated Lana when he found out who Scarlett Slayer is. I understand that he felt betrayed, but still!😭😭

😼Lana is perfect!😼Every scene with her made me fall more in love. She's a DIVA and a GIRL BOSS.
When I learned about her past, I was genuinely sad; 12 guys 😭 It was just too much for my poor Victoria, aka Lana. 😭😢

This was perfection. Everything I was hoping for since this was one of my most anticipated series. I was laughing, anxious, intrigued, hooked, sobbing SO much. This story got really into my heart, I was rooting for Lana so badly, her story just shattered my heart the more information I got. the ending was just muah absolute chef's kiss 👌😚. And hey let's say if I were to be a serial killer, Lana Myers would be my biggest inspiration. 🤭 Definitely one of my new favourites!!! 💖💖




The Risk: Uhh, WOW?? I absolutely flew through the first book, I was hooked from page 1. I can already see Lana becoming one of my favourite characters, coincidentally a lot of my faves are female serial killers 🤭🤭🤭. Really like Logan as well and the plot was really keeping me enganged, add a little bit of spice 🔥 and that cliffhanger man?? I will be diving into the second one right this instant 🏊‍♀️

lana is one of my favourite fmc ever. i was behind her 100% and watching her take her revenge on the men was so satisfying. every name she crossed off her list had me internally cheering her on. logan’s reaction when he found out the truth about lana threw me off him a bit. i did love that the relationship showed a different side to lana where she showed moments of allowing herself to love and trust again. they had me rooting for them even when the odd were stacked against them. this series was addictive from start to finish. it is graphic and disturbing but that’s what made it unforgettable. i’d read this all over again in a heartbeat.

I honestly can’t believe I didn’t pick this book up sooner. I’ve seen people recommending this series everywhere, and the reviews are always glowing, but I kept skipping it because, let’s be real, it’s chunky and a little intimidating. But wow… it is SO worth it. Once you dive in, the pages just fly by, and now I totally get why everyone’s obsessed. Consider me officially converted.

↝ The Risk:

This book was such an easy, addictive read, the short chapters and alternating POVs between Lana (our serial killer 👀) and Logan (our FBI agent) kept me hooked the whole way through. What really makes it stand out is how it flips the usual dynamic: instead of the guy being the “bad one” redeemed by love, it’s Lana in that role, and it’s such a refreshing twist. The romance between Lana and Logan is surprisingly endearing, and sometimes even funny, despite how doomed it is from the very start. The balance between thriller and romance works so well, and the plotline itself is honestly genius. Did it make my heart race or give me butterflies? YES. It’s so well-written and so well-delivered that I couldn’t put it down.

↝ Sidetracked:

I love how this book doesn’t just focus on the romance but leans so heavily into the thriller aspect too, it really feels like the perfect marriage of both genres. Where Book 1 felt more like an introduction to the characters and the setup of the story, Book 2 dives headfirst into the chaos and embraces the thriller side fully. The tension is cranked up to a whole new level, and you can feel it in every scene.
There’s murder, action, and high-stakes danger woven seamlessly with the romance, and that balance makes the story so addictive. One moment you’re holding your breath because of a chilling twist, and the next you’re melting over a tender moment between the leads, it keeps you on your toes in the best way. I honestly found myself unable to put it down; it’s the kind of book that demands your attention and refuses to let go. At one point, I was literally this close to pressing my face into the pages just to feel closer to the story because of how completely engaging it was. AHHHH

OMG THIS IS GETTING SO GOOD, I just know a lot of shit is about to go down in the last books. I’m on the edge of my seat, anxiety and excitement all at once. After that slower patch in Book 2, it picked up FAST and now it’s non-stop: Logan hunting other serial killers while digging into Lana’s case = absolute chaos but addictive. Lana returning to Delaney Grove has my stomach in literal knots because there’s still so much we don’t know. If I disappear for a few days, it’s because I’m recovering from this emotional meltdown. Send snacks.

↝ All The Lies:

Bestie… when I tell you I am NOT okay either. This series just veered straight off a cliff and I was NOT strapped in. One second I’m vibing, the next I’m flying through the windshield. The way the ending punched me in the face??? I thought I was prepared for something, but definitely not THAT. I’m mad, I’m heartbroken, and I genuinely don’t know how to function right now.
And then finding out more about Lana?? I swear my stomach dropped into the floor, I’m gonna be sick all over again just thinking about it. That reveal made the ending hurt ten times worse and now, I fear this series is going to send me spiraling into a reading slump because how do you recover from this?? UGH.


↝ Paint It All Red:

This was so fucking good. Honestly, one of the most perfect endings I’ve read in a long time, I’ll never stop thinking about it. I cried, I screamed, I felt every possible emotion, and I know this story is going to live rent-free in my head forever. It’s the kind of series you can binge in a frenzy, but spacing it out made it even more impactful. Definitely a highly recommended read, though not for the faint of heart.
The plot was flawless from start to finish. The ending? Pure chaos in the best way. It had me sweating, my mind spiraling, my heart crashing straight into my stomach. The kind of twist where you have to close the book, stare at the ceiling, and brace yourself before going on. And while I usually read for the romance, this series proved it didn’t even need it, the story was strong enough on its own. Lana is that girl, and I would’ve rated this just as high even without the romance because she carried everything. Iconic, devastating, unforgettable.

And then there’s Logan Bennett, the brilliant, heroic FBI agent who puts monsters behind bars…except he has no idea the woman he’s falling for is the monster he’s chasing.

so A serial killer and FBI romance… yeah, don’t tell me again; I am already SAT. 🪑

this series was insanely good and addicting. Lana & Logan are by far my favorite book couple and i really really wish i can read the series for the first time again..

Lana Myers is def the best and strongest female character I ever read about. i wasnt even concerned that she was a serial killer at first i js thought it was badass tbh. and i was literally giggling every time she killed those mfs because, with all due respect, they deserved every stab and every second of torture they got. period.

Logan Bennet is a fbi agent in love with a serial killer.. sounds weird ik but the fact that he chose lana over literally anything, including his job??! GIGGLING AND KICKING MY FEET AHHH but i was really unhappy with what he did at the end of book 4 LIKE I WAS ACTUALLY CRYING WITH LANA.(iykyk) but he did make up for it in the best way possible! ughh hes such a green flag.

Jake and Hadley: very irrelevant but they were literally so cute <3

- the revenge plot in this series is absolute perfection. the way the author grasps the feelings of the main character.. LITERALLY amazing. and it had just the right amount of spice in this revenge murder plot series. and not to mention it brought out an entirely different side of myself that I did not know existed and I absolutely LOVED it. The plot twists kept me on the edge of the seat like never before !! one of my favorite series ever prob.

SO INCREDIBLY GOOD!! This was a book/series that I initially thought was overhyped since I couldn't imagine it being as good as it was. However, I was very wrong! I knew it was going to be good but never did I think I would love it this much! This series takes you through the dark journey of a serial killer getting revenge for the horrible things that were done not only to her but her whole family. She plans every single detail to go through with this revenge but what she never expects is to fall in love with the FBI profiler that's in charge of her case. This book was such a rollercoaster and I enjoyed every second of it!

This book deals with too many triggers and sensitive matters. The crimes committed against her and her family had me sick to my stomach and I could really feel her pain. All the time when she screamed for help but no one did. All the times she pleaded and begged, all the times she was shunned by the town full of people who were supposed to keep her safe and protected.

Ten years ago, they took from me. They left me for dead.
They should have made sure I stayed dead.

I honestly couldn’t recommend this series more to you guys. I loved every single part of it. From the character development, to the storyline and the plot twists, everything was perfect. I literally devoured it in less than 12 hours and I know I'll be re-reading this one in a few days too.

Nothing else mattered at all.
Nothing I stood for was worth more than her.
Nothing I valued held any true value at all.
Everything I have is pointless without her.

After this one, it feels like I’m ruined for every other book cause no other book in this genre will ever compare.
