"Christian Crisis Hotline. How may I help you?" For once, it was phone counselor Felicia Trahan who desperately needed to dial in. She'd come home to her apartment to find Jolie, her roommate and coworker, dead. And few clues to the killer's identity: There was a shady boyfriend. A rival at the crisis center. And disturbing phone calls from a distraught young woman who was becoming increasingly unhinged. So much so that the center's tough-guy pastor feared for Felicia's safety. Spencer Bertrand promised to protect her, even if he lost his heart in the process. Yet drawing out a killer hiding in the Louisiana bayou could be the only way to save them all.

The heroine of this book is enough reason to read it: Felicity Trahan, Christian crisis hotline operator, strong independent woman. And did I mention she has cerebral palsy, yet is doing intensive physical therapy in an attempt to learn to walk?
Winnie, a caller, leaves disturbing messages for Felicity and she worries that someone may get hurt. Her roommate, Jolie, is then murdered and Jolie's boyfriend is immediately suspected. With the aid of her overprotective brother, Luc and his fiancee, CoCo, Felicity must find out who killed Jolie. Along the way, she is wooed by her pastor, the reformed Spencer Bertrand.
It's nice to see Felicity not blame God for her handicap, and issues about dealing with one's past are explored through Spencer's character. Makes you wonder how the apostle Paul felt when visiting synagogues filled with people he used to persecute.
I am really enjoying this author. I love the south Louisiana setting, the incorporation of Cajun culture and language, and the fearlessness of her primary female characters. These are not your typical Christian romance novels. They have plenty of mystery and suspense. This one in particular had quite a bit of violence and a couple of well done action scenes. I'm looking forward to more from Robin Caroll!
Enjoyed reading - it is one of those stories, you just don't want to put the book down - a mystery that keeps you guessing along with all the Southern charm of south Louisiana. Look forward to reading more by this author.
This series is really getting interesting to read. After the death of Felicia Tranhan boyfriend and the operation to help Felicia to walk again; she leaves home to start a new part of her life. She helps out at he Christian Crisis Center were she takes a called from a woman who is very very very sick in deep depression who wants to murder her ex boyfriend and his new girlfriend,so when things starting to escalate and the New Pastor Spencer Bertrand have to team up find out what happened so the Pastor to find out who killed Felicia best friend and now it's trying to kill Felicia and new the Pastor.
Felicia was an annoying character to me. Too stubborn to the point of stupidity and I didn't like how she reacted to Spencer's confession. I also found the yes? At the end of every sentence repetitive and annoying. The killer I figure out well before everyone. BUT that said, I still really enjoyed this book and the writing was superb and seeing the characters from other books come back made me happy. I'll be sad to end this series!
This is the third book in that Bayou Series and I think my favorite so far. I really loved the sweet heroine and hero and was so happy they got a happily ever after. I highly recommend this book.
