DARC Ops #4

Dark Control

Rate this book
They’d probably figured out who Matthias was. He was fine with that. Let them know everything. Let them know the face of vengeance, first for the fallen, and the rest of it, for what they’d already put this sweet girl through. Let them know his name. Let them know his wrath.

Laurel Blackwood is a coder. A damn good one. Good enough for a government contract programming tracking software. So what if her bosses think she’s a total screw up, her abusive ex won’t stop hassling her for money, and the only person who believes in her wants to meet in hiding, scared for his own life. She’ll prove she can stand on her own. She’s determined to. That is, until the bodies started piling up. Until she’s linked to a scheme involving the murder of a government official—the murder of the one man who’d believed in her.

Matthias Wade might look like a strong, black ops merc. Or a biker. He was both—until the day a bullet ripped through his body and he fell into a pool of his own blood. Shaky hands, flashbacks, nightmares. They happen so often now it was almost routine. PTSD, they said. He called it weak. But he refused to be weak anymore. When Laurel’s life lands in his hands to protect, they can’t shake anymore. He’ll prove her innocence and save her life. Even if he has to give his to do it.

Dark Control is book 4 in the DARC Ops series, and can be read stand-alone. Characters from earlier books do appear as secondary characters in this book.

Matthias and Laurel what a good read. Both having anxiety issues even if both for complete different reasons. But together? They can face any of it and come through the other end.

Laurel is a hacker who is in a world of trouble and doesn't realise it. When she meets Matthias though she feels...right. But alot of weird  and deadly stuff is happening to her and she doesn't know who to trust or what to do.

Matthias is suffering from PTSD and is slowly getting back to his normal self. Riding with his brethren is part of it and maybe even getting back on operation with Darc Ops but the biggest help has been a hottie he met Laurel. Also happens to be the reason for his mission investigating her.....AWKWARD!!!!

Brilliant read of these helping each other. Fighting against everyone to prove Laurel is innocent and Matthias head in on straight. I adore how Matthias seems to get is nerves under control, for her.

Dark Control is the fourth book in the DARC OPS series by Jamie Garrett. This book is full of more action, twists and turns than a game of snakes and ladders. There is mystery upon mystery as we walk through this world of military men who help to make the world better.

Laurel is good at what she does and her bosses know it but what she doesn’t know is that she needs to watch her back. Everything points to her and she is in over her head but that is something she doesn't know. With people dying she does the only thing she thinks will put a stop to it but what she finds is that she is not safe anywhere. She can not trust anyone, except for the one person who believes in her, now he just has to convince the others.

I love these men of DARC OPS world and love the way they take care of each other and the ones they love all whilst taking the bad guys down.

A fantastic sorry about overcoming the odds when they are stacked against you

In the fourth edition to the DARC Ops series, we pick up after the incident in the hospital in Jasper's book. This is Mathias' story. And in it we meet the sweet and innocent Laurel. She's in over her head and doesn't even know. Being looked at as a leak that possible for people killed. But Mathias doesn't see it that way. And he wants to make sure to clear her name. This book was so much fun and Mathias has been one of my favorites from the start. It was so much fun getting to know him and Laurel. I love the men of DARC ops and I'm excited for what's in store for them in the future!

I love this series of books. They are so well written, interesting and informative. It's great picking up snippets of IT info that you vaguely knew or had heard of. Plus hot techy guys!!
The characters are great and their dialogue is realistic. The romance is hot and the suspense gripping. Everything comes together in a very hard to put down down book.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Next........?

This book in the series is good but was a little harder to get into because a lot of what the main characters are going through is a rough spot with me having some with PTSD and needing therapy myself. The book has some scenes that a bit unrealistic as well and hard to follow but I still think the book is really great and worth the read. I also love the concept and the characters wish to deal with and fix the problem that they have together.

Going from hacker to being hacked

Laurel is a hacker and recently got a promotion but she saw some disturbing news and that's when everything started going bad for her. But what she didnt know what Matt was there to spie on her to see what was going on. Matt was sure that they had the wrong person but to prove it was another thing. And while trying to prove it he had to dodge other things coming his way.

Action Packed and Steamy

Wow! This action gets more suspenseful and the sex gets steamier. Once the surprise after a one night stand wears off, Laurel and Matthias find they have to work together to clear her name. They each have past baggage they need to overcome and end up being a soothing balm for each other. Great story.

She's trouble, that one.

Matthias has finally healed physically from his wounds in the last Darc Ops book, but mentally, he's still having problems. Getting pulled in from vacation to help with a case, he meets Laurel. What a hot pair these two make! This whole series has been one thrill ride after another. I can't wait to see what Darc Ops gets up to next! Enjoy!!!

Matthias is suffering from PTSD. Sent on a mission, he encounters Laurel, but Laurel is in trouble. Can they be each other's salvation? This story has everything you come to expect from the Darc Ops series, suspense, secrets, heroes and bad guys. A great story and a fantastic read.
