Aaron

I always thought love was black and white. You meet a girl, and within the first meeting, you'll know if she's the one. If she is, you live happily ever after. My concept was a little off, but it worked for me. I don't waste my time with women I don't see a future with.

The day I met Whitney, I didn't get hit with the love bug. Nothing spectacular happened, at least not how I expected it to.

She's everything. Everything I didn't realize I needed.

I know that Whitney is my future. Now that I've found her, it's time to prove to her this is where she belongs.

Whitney

The last year has been a constant struggle to live with the heartache and the pain. Needing a change, I picked up and moved to Kentucky to live with the only family I have left. I didn't expect to feel at home like I did. I didn't expect him.

The day I met Aaron, I was sure he would run for the hills the next time he saw me. That's not what happened at all.

With his sweet gestures and words that melt my soul, he worked his way into my heart.

I want nothing more than to be with him, but how can I stay with this dark cloud that follows me?

Unfortunately, this one ended up being just OK for me. There was a definite lack of chemistry between the hero and heroine IMO. For the first 30-40% of the book, Aaron came across SO indifferent towards Whitney. Oh sure he thought she was gorgeous and enjoyed hanging out with her, but where were the sparks? The chemistry? The lust? She pretty much could have been a cocker spaniel for as much interest he showed in her. As the book progressed he starts to show more interest, but I still never felt like this was some GREAT romance. Like she was his ONE. More like she was "the one AVAILABLE" if that makes sense?

description

Now, Whitney, I liked from the beginning and was looking forward to reading more about her. Alas, as Aaron got better Whitney got worse. I got pretty tired of her constantly whining and crying because her mother died of cancer a YEAR earlier. Yes Yes, that makes me a cold-hearted bitch. I know people just don't get over that death of a loved one overnight, but honestly, it just got on my nerves. On top of that, she started acting stupid. Like claiming Aaron wasn't her "boyfriend" they were just hanging out. I don't know about y'all, but I generally, as a rule, don't let people I am just hanging out with finger my vagina. Plus the whole "mamogram" fiasco...sigh. Really??

On a positive note. It was well written. The pace moved along fairly well. The little girl from the first book was ADORABLE. So really this was more of an "it's me" than the book being bad.

Southern Pleasures was one of my top 10 books for 2016, which naturally led me to stalk Kaylee and read Unexpected Reality (another top 10 of 2016) and I have to say I am officially a fan so as soon as I saw this one pop up I had to have it. And I have to say it lived up to my expectations. It has all of the depth of emotion I have come to expect from Kaylee Ryan’s writing and from the first page I was in tears and unable to put the book down.

I was already half in love with Aaron from Southern Pleasures. He was such an amazing brother, uncle and best friend and he was so sincere in his search for “the one.” And the more I saw of him the more I loved him. He is pretty much the perfect book boyfriend.

“I love you. I’ve waited for you, the one woman who would own me, and now that I’ve found you, I don’t plan on ever letting you get away.”

Whitney was a bit of an enigma. I didn’t really know what to expect from her or how she was going to live up to be everything that Aaron deserved. But she pulled it off and I loved her from the very start and I so wanted her to get over her heartbreak and live happily ever after with Aaron.

As always the secondary characters were amazing and I couldn’t get enough of them. And I was thrilled to get even more of Evan and McKinley and their growing family. Hopefully this series will continue so we can get even more of both couples and some more of their great friends and family.

This book is oozing a tons of sweetness. Bordering to cheesy. Almost 80% of it. Aaron is too good to be true. Worshiping the ground Whitney walks. Literally.

But then..... thats wherr it ends for me. Yes i do love perfect boyfriend material like Aaron. He is the bomb. But i would like it more if the author invests in more plot of the story. Not just cheesy sweetness.

I dont even know why Aaron falls for Whitney. I dont think it was explain in the book. Of course i understand why Whitney falls for Aaron. He is a perfect boyfriend. And the secret Whitney hiding can be more dramatic.

Oh well, overall this is an OK read for me.

“Trust me.”
“Always.”

It was not a super steamy captivating read, but a beautifully written love story of a girl who lost her mother on cancer and an amazing caring man, who gave her not only his love but a new family.

I was completely smitten with the hero! Sweet and caring guy, but also manly and sexy man.

The book was not only about love between the MCs, but mostly about the grief of the heroine - how she learned to cope with her lost, how she tried to let it go. It was about her fear of cancer and her fear to let people love her when they could lose her.

My heart broke many times for the girl. I never judged her and always understand her anxiety and the walls she built around her. She saw her mother fighting the decease and losing the battle…, she knew the feeling when the person you love the most leaves you. And I could understand why she didn't want to share this experience with anyone.

The book wasn't that sad and tear-jerking, there were many nice and even funny moments. There were much light and love.

The hero was an amazing man.
Perfect!
He cared for the h, he helped her, and he was always by her side. The things he did for her... touching and romantic!
“I’m right here. Let it out, I’ve got you.”

There was no insta-love. Insta-attraction yes, but the deeper feelings came with the time. I liked to read about how they learned to know each other, how they opened their hearts and minds. As I said, it was a slow burn, but never a boring one.
“When I wake up in the morning, you are the first thing I think about. During the day, I wonder how your day is going. I have to make myself not call or text you because I know you’re busy. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what we do, but I want to do it with you. At night, when I climb into bed, when you’re not there, I feel it here.” I place my hand over my heart. “I want to spend every minute of every day with you and every night with you in my arms.” I reach over and cup her face. “So you see? Girlfriend is not a strong enough word. You’re everything, Whitney.”

I will reread this book for sure.

HEA, nice epilogue, but I wish it would be longer than 6 months.

I hope there will be another book in this series.

Listening to an audio version of this book may not have been the smartest thing that I've ever done. It was a great story, but it brought tears to my eyes more than once and that is not conducive to driving safely.

Aaron - I loved him in book 1 and was happy he was getting his story. I wanted to shake him a time or two because he was so hung up on finding "the one" and how he would know when he met her that she was right under his nose and he was oblivious. Everyone else knew but him. He knew he was falling for her. Thankfully he wised up quickly and went after what he wanted - Whitney. Once he did, it was swoon city. Loved him. He was devoted, hard working and a family man.

Whitney- she was a great heroine. Losing her mom and moving close to the only family she had left was hard on her. She quickly realized that the move was the smartest thing she's done. Not just because she was closer to her family, but it brought her to the love of her life- Aaron. While I didn't agree with all the choices she made, the fact she remedied the bad one she made towards the end rather quickly helped.

-no cheating
-zero ow/om drama
- slight pushing away that lasted very briefly
- not overly steamy but a few hotter scenes
- no violence of any nature
-safe
- just ok epilogue. This would have potentially been 5 stars of it had a better epilogue. It was cute but not enough.

3.5 rounded up to 4

It worked for me but I know some may find this boring because it's cheesy and oozing sweetness 😌

Whitney grieved her mother's death throughout the book which I don't find annoying because everyone deals with grief differently. Her fear is realistic and I understand why she's afraid to let someone love her.

Aaron (hero) is a gentleman, he is the opposite of an asshole-manwhoe-ish you usually find in a romance. He's a patient man who knows what he wants and goes for it.

If you are tired of unnecessary drama and want something (extra) sweet instead, this low angst drama-free read will be a nice change.

Safety-gang :
Safe.
Trigger warning : lost of a loved one (h's mother had cancer and died - on page)
HEA - 6 months later, they're engaged. The last book in this series acts as an extended epilogue so you can read more about their future in that novella.

This book was just boring as shit. The heroine came off as a basket case and she cries in front of the hero 4 times before you even get halfway done the book. And she's scared of everything. Hero wasn't great either in my opinion; I think it's the southern thing because to me, because I'm a north east yankee, being a southern gentleman farmer type hero makes me gag a little bit because it's so hooky and like....cheesy.

*This story is for mature audiences only. Contains explicit scenes and language intended for adults 18+

SYNOPSIS:

Finding her way to Kentucky to be with family, she's finally settling and feeling some happiness. She meets Aaron and he's slowly showing her how to live again. But, what Aaron doesn't know, is the deep secret she's keeping from him.

Aaron doesn't believe in spending time with women he doesn't see a future with. Love, to him was black and white, until Whitney found her way into his life.

She's his one and he's her strength.

The overshadowing secret plaguing Whitney's mind drivers her away, leaving Aaron and everyone she met behind.

Will Aaron find his way to Whitney again?

Or was their love something that most people desired and never found?

MY THOUGHTS:
This is the first time I have read anything by this author and I am going to be sure to look at her other work! I really enjoyed this sweet, heart wrenching story about finding love and allowing others to love you!

Whitney has had a tough journey in life and moves to Kentucky to be with the only family that she has left. She leaves behind her home she grew up in and leaves behind her best friend because she needs a new start. She now has her dream job of being a photographer that captures memories and moments rather than the commercial photography that she had been doing. Whitney is working with an amazing photographer that has her own studio on the family farm. Whitney and McKinley immediately strike up a friendship as well a great working relationship. Then she meets McKinley’s handsome older brother Aaron and she is smitten. He is the ultimate sexy and sweet cowboy. But Whitney has a secret and she has a cloud hanging over her life.

Aaron is running the family farm since his dad has retired. He is still living at home with his parents until he is ready to start building his dream home with the woman that will be his forever. He hasn’t been too successful in his search. He is busy running the farm and he feels like he will know her when he meets her and has passed by many a prospect because if the spark isn’t there, he moves on. His sister McKinley keeps telling him that he needs to give the girls he dates a chance, not one and done. Until he meets McKinley. There is just something that speaks to him.

This isn’t an insta-love connection. They have great chemistry, but Aaron takes it slow. He courts her and gives her time, as he knows that Whitney is recovering from a deep loss. Whitney wants to take it to the next level, but Aaron keeps it slow and steady. He knows that there is something going on with her, but he can’t get her to open up. Everyone should have an Aaron in their life!

If you like a charming southern cowboy hero and a broken, but vulnerable heroine. A story with sweet heat, a heartbreaking twist and a love that concurs all, this book is for you! I highly recommend Aaron and Whitney’s love story. I truly look forward to more by this author.

*I received an ARC of Southern Desire to read and review*

I Loved Southern Desire.

Just an FYI southern Desire can be read as a standalone. I haven't had the pleasure of reading the first novel yet but that is now added to my TBR List! But i wasn't the slightest bit confused with the story line or background info.

Southern Desire is sweet and sensual with just the perfect hint of angst.

Aaron and Whitney's story had me in tears. But not tears caused by sadness. I was happy throughout this novel. I loved watched Whitney let down her guard and open her heart to Aaron, just like her mama wanted her to.

I respect the aspect of this novel that involves losing a parent. It was written flawlessly. Some may think that Whitney should have gotten over it by now but no matter who you are or how old you are its never easy and you never get over it.

In moving on from her mother's death Whitney has pushed all of the emotions down deep in order to protect others around her. She decides to move to Kentucky with her cousin Olivia in order to put the darkness of losing her mother and bringing forth the light that comes in the memories.

Damn, the way Aaron cared for Whitney emotionally had me a blubbering mess. The moments where it was just the two of them and he was trying to get her mind off the darkness and bring a smile to her face had me smiling and giggling like a goof.

I love the fact that Kaylee Ryan had me laughing out loud. There was a part in the novel that was so sweet i started to cry.

It's an amazing thing when an author gets so deep into the story line that it makes the reader feel like they are in the background listening to the conversation or observing from the sidelines. I literally felt like i was immersed in this story line. I felt all the emotions and cried so many damn times along with Whitney. I feel like i know these characters, that takes a kick ass writer to make their readers feel like they are part of the story.

This novel made me feel a sense of nostalgia. Now i'm homesick and have a sudden need to call my mom and dad! The family aspect in this novel was one of my favorite parts. I loved the respect that Aaron had for his parents.

Thank you for writing an amazing novel and i look forward to reading more from you in the future!

4.5 heart warming, beautiful stars!

Southern Desire is the PERFECT name for this book because through it all Kaylee burns her readers with tension, desire, heat, passion and love. This beautiful story of pain and heartache and finding “the one” warmed my heart and soul thoroughly.

From the prologue alone Kaylee had me in tears. Kaylee has an ability to fully capture her readers and deliver everything with clarity. The pain and hurt of the scene is evident from the words used. What Kaylee is oh, so, good at it, is taking that pain and using it to produce the most beautiful kinda love.

As always, Kaylee’s hero was so damn perfect. I mean, HOLY HOT. His dirty mouth, mixed with his sinful, swoony, goodness just left me feeling like a pile of goo. And let's just say, I see why Whitney is his ‘one’.

This whole beautiful, blissful package that is Southern Desire, was a joy to read!

I really liked that Aaron respected Whitney enough to show restraint, even when she didn't want him to, "he groans. “Whit, we can’t. I only had one condom, so please, for the love of God, remove your hand from my ***k.” Aaron knows how to up the ante when things don't go his way, “okay, I guess I’ll just lie here on your bed and think about your sexy-as-hell naked body dripping wet.” He sighs and adjust himself, lying back on the bed." I loved this book, Aaron was one sexy country man.

Kaylee is one of my go to authors. I absolutely adore her writing and her characters that pull you in and don't let go.

Southern Desire is perfection. Aaron will have you swooning and you feel everything right along with Whitney as she struggles with how to live her life after such a tragic loss.

I fell in love with both of these characters from the start. Such an amazing story. I'll have a more detailed review closer to the release date.

Whitney smiles. It’s one of those smiles that lights your life on fire.

Another good story in the Southern Heart series.
Sorry, this may be a bit long. Got a lot to say. This one is about Aaron (the h's brother from book one). This is not insta-love in any way. He doesn't see the h, Whitney and know instantly that she's his one. It's not until maybe 1/3 into the book when they finally start realizing their feelings for one another. It was still a wonderful little read. I actually loved Aaron. He did not seem like a MW to me. He was very selective in who he was with because if he didn't feel something strong with a woman within a couple hours of meeting, he didn't take it any further than a date. His thoughts were, "why waste my time when I know it isn't going anywhere". Ok, so anyway...once they realized their feelings for one another, it was strong and full throttle. Loved how he loved her and vice versa.
-neither virgins, condoms used
-dual POV
-no cheating or abuse
-epilogue 6 months out
-possible trigger - h's mom had died from cancer and we go through their gut wrenching good-bye at the beginning of the book. I gotta say, I have personal experience with this situation and Ms. Ryan did a magnificent job at portraying the heartbreak and agony that the grievers go through when saying goodbye to their loved one. Also, I know many didn't like that the h cried throughout the book over losing her mom to this horrible, disgusting, wretched disease even after more than a year later. I can understand how that may be much for some. But personally, I was in morning and cried constantly for almost 2 years. It's one of the toughest things I've ever had to go through and I fully agree with how the author portrayed the h's feelings.
All in all, this book takes you through all the emotions, sadness because of the h's loss of her mother, happiness that they found each other and fell in love and then anger. Let me just say I could have boob punched the h a time or 2 for her behavior towards the end. I get her reasons, I really do but I was still screaming at my phone while listening to the story on audio.
Still, a great little story and I will be listening to it again. Bought the audiobook on all 4 books in the series and have no regrets.

Southern Desire (Southern Heart #2) by Kaylee Ryan is truly what HEA is all about. I fell into Love/Lust with the cover, but the story is what gave me the heart soaring totally emotional moments that make a great story.

Aaron Mills is one hot cowboy! Coming from a very loving stable home with parents still in love and a sister married to his best friend (Southern Pleasures, Southern Heart #1) he thinks he knows what he wants in a future partner. However, he’s going about it in the wrong way.

Whitney Grace has just gone through 2 years of caring for her Mother only to lose her to breast cancer. A new job in a new town give her a start to living her own life.

Aaron and Whitney’s story is has its ups and downs but the ending is just like you want it. You learn what it means to truly support another person who has sadness in their life and help them come out on the other side.

Ms. Ryan has written a wonderful story about loss and love. She has crafted characters that you would like to know and have them be part of your life. I enjoyed this book so much that I am going back to read Southern Heart.

You think I would learn my lesson when it comes to Kaylee Ryan's books. Thy author knows how deliver a sweet feel good romance that will leave you with the best kind of book hangover you could ask for.

Aaron and Whitney are perfect for each other. Aaron is sweet, compassionate, and 110% my new book boyfriend. I mass wow the way he falls for Whitney will make your heart swoon. Whitney is a sad heartbroken woman who is basically all alone now that her mom passed away. She wasn't expecting Aaron to turn her life upside-down and show her is ok to love.

This is a sweet sad story that will even have the darkest hearts melt at Aaron and his antics to make Whitney smile. While this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone. I'm interested to see who's book will be next in this bittersweet series.

Just straightforward southern sweet.

Le Sigh. These Southern men she writes are just apple pie goodness. I love them so far. If you’re in the mood for some good straight romance, this is a good series. I loved the first in this series and we get to see a lot of them and the kids who are adorable in this one. These 2 have eyes only for each other. The families are amazing as well.

This book has actual dating, I thought their southern choices to do those dates was Uber romantic. Aaron is just a throw back to a really good guy. It’s a love story. Pleasant read after a darker book I read, I found it to be a nice palette cleanser. Well written, good supporting characters, recommend.

I don't know if I've been binge reading too many Kaylee Ryan books in a row, but they're all starting to feel a little too similar in a couple of ways: The guys are on the alpha side of things and tend to talk to the woman almost like they're kids. I don't mind it all the time, but this book was on the too much side of things. Whitney has some big emotional hurdles to deal with. I loved how Aaron supported her and did some sweet things for her, but there were times where his character felt too good to be true. He was too... I don't even know the right word for it. Maybe cheesy? If I was Whitney, I probably would have been searching for flaws or what he was hiding because he was THAT good.

Once again this one was predictable, yet fun to listen to. I didn’t expect Aaron to fall so hard so fast for Whitney and to hold nothing back, was fun to see. It was easy to see why Whitney held back at times, even as she was getting everything she wanted. I was glad that she got her eyes opened and realized what she was in jeopardy of losing. The ending to this one was great, was perfect for them all.

Southern Desire is a heart warming story that made me fall for a sweet loving country man named Aaron. I had tears in my eyes as soon as I started the book. This story was heartbreaking good. And even though there was some sadness in the book, it also gave me the "feel good" moments that I loved and will not forget. I could feel Whitney's emotions when she meets Aaron for the first time. You know what I am talking about. The whole butterflies in your stomach when you meet that someone who makes your heart flip. Seriously, I actually felt the nerves when they would meet up the first couple of times.Kaylee Ryan shows you that sweet kind of love through her writing. I grew up in the country and this book brought it back home for me.

In this story, Whitney is just trying to start a new life. To just be with family and fit in somewhere that she can finally call home. She finds her soul mate, her partner in Aaron. I fell completely over the hills in book love with Aaron and his manners. Yes ladies, he opens the door for you, makes sure all your needs are met. A gentlemen by day, and a hunk in the sheets. He also is the biggest support system for Whitney when she needs him the most. Except for one tiny secret that she is keeping that can rock their worlds. Will she lose all that she has worked so hard for? That part made me cry the most!

If you need a good book that has you hooked through the end, this is it! I had a lot of moments that I smiled and laughed loudly. Aaron's family are amazing! Come home to Southern Desire. I know this will be a re-read in the future for me.

Kaylee Ryan won my heart over a few years ago with her words and since then, I have been a fan. But this book and this series? It's different... in the "such a good kind of way." It has the heat and sweetness like I am use to with Kaylee... but it also has tons of the feels... some good and some overwhelming.

Southern Desire is the second standalone book in the Southern Heat series. Diving back into this series, we get Aaron and Whitney's story... and boy did these two have a dousy to tell us. I laughed, smiled, swooned, got sad, and cried... man did I shed a few tears during their journey.

Whitney... she is a fighter with her heart kept tight despite her promise to her mother. But sometimes love has a way of sneaking up on us when we least expect it and we have no choice but to hold on for the ride, enjoy the moment... and fight when needed.

Aaron... the man you want to take home to your momma then have him take you home to do dirty, dirty things to you. He had a heart that made me swoon hard and I couldn't help but fall hard and fast for this amazing guy.

Together, these two were sizzling. Their chemistry... their banter... their connection... it was all just mesmerizing. Now their journey was easy and they had to face life and fears, but I am a big believer in what is meant to be, will. I rooted for them.. despite it all and even when it was touch and go for a moment... or two.

If you like sweet and sexy with a side of the feels, grab up this book!

I highly recommend this book and series.

I've been anticipating this book pretty much since like the third time I finished Southern Pleasure!! I fell in love with Aaron right away and I couldn't wait for his story!! And boy was I given a treat!!!

Aaron is a special guy. He's sweet, funny, loving, and a good big brother. He deserves to find the one! So when Whitney comes along you know you're in for something special. It's not just special, it's without a doubt one of the best stories I've ever read! Along with Whitney and Aaron we also get to enjoy the company of Kinley, Evan, Lexie, Walker, Olivia, Mike, and Aaron's parents. Characters that I loved in Southern Pleasure and was so happy to see again! So we have Whitney and Aaron falling for each other and making memories and just being themselves and falling in love. So naturally it's time to be grown off balance a little bit.

Whitney has experienced some tragedy in her life. I won't go into much detail but she's struggling. And then all of a sudden Whitney herself is thrown into the same turmoil that someone in her life previously has had. And this is where this entire story took a whole new meaning to me. I was already in love but then I just fell even more. What happens to Whitney, I've experienced. I've been through what she has and sharing the same experience has forever solidified this girl and her amazing Aaron and their amazing family forever in my heart. It means more, it is more, and it makes me love it and these characters and this story that much more! ❤️

Aaron Mills is a cowboy with a big heart and full of southern charm. He's a man that never keeps a girl around, but one look at the city girl and he's smitten. There is something about her smile, her down to earth attitude, her sexy curves, and her heart. He knows she's been through heartbreak and vows to hold her, help her heal, and make sure she never has to be alone again. I loved that even though they have an instant attraction, they get to know each other and become friends before crossing that line.

I admire Whitney's perseverance to start over in a new town in a new state after her devastating loss. Even though she only knew a few people, she's still puts her big girl pants on and starts over. For a city girl, she adapts pretty well to the country life.

The chemistry is off the charts between Aaron and Whitney. I loved watching their relationship develop from strangers to friends to lovers. They strive to be their best self for each other, they really compliment each other.

I enjoyed seeing Evan, McKinley, and Lexi again, as well as meeting some new characters.

Southern Desire is everything you want in a romance book... heart, soul, passion, deep emotions, a little angst, and a sexy cowboy that will sweep you off your feet.

There’s something that always gets to me when I’m reading an utterly sweet romance. Southern Desire was one of these fantastic reads. This slow building romance was captivating from page one until the end.

From the first moment Whitney and Aaron meet, it’s clear that there’s something special there. Seeing them starting as friends and slowly falling in love together was so well written and made me swoon. All along my read I must say that I loved the dynamic between Whitney and Aaron. Nothing was rushed in their relationship, but everything was felt immensely. Really a slow burning love as its best!

Aaron is such the perfect gentleman, but can also be the alpha male. He’s just waiting for “the one” and not rushing into it. I was charmed by his easy going and romantic personality! I just couldn’t wait to finally see this couple together. It was a long process, but so beautiful to witness and so gratifying when it finally happened.

I loved seeing MacKenzie and Evan again in their family life as secondary characters. Southern Desire is definitely my new favorite read by Kaylee Ryan. The chemistry, the romance, the writing, everything was so pleasing about this dreamy story.

When I saw this book I was all in. I love a good southern romance, plus did you see the cover? HOT!

Unfortunately this book just didn't do it for me. I just did not connect to the story whatsoever. I kept reading because I felt like the potential was there, and I was really hoping I would be able to connect the more I read, but that didn't happen.

I felt that the story was super predictable, and though serious things happened I just didn't feel any emotion, and I'm big on feeling emotions. It just wasn't there for me. The hero to me was a bit corny, he wasn't "manly" to me and in the books I read, esp southern romances, I love to see the hero manly. Respectful yes, but manly. The hero in this book off the bat wanted to find "the one" which is totally fine but he was almost too nice.

I don't want this to be a negative review, or make anyone not read it. Just because this book wasn't for me doesn't mean the next reader wont enjoy it. After all, we all have our own opinions. So please don't let my review stop you from reading this book.

Ok, this book is hands down the sweetest thing ever. I lied. Aaron is absolutely the sweetest thing ever. A man who loves his family and dotes on his niece and nephew as though they were his world. He is patient, kind, and sensitive. He is also a real life cowboy with the ass hugging jeans to match. I mean they make calendars of men that look like him but nothing can compare to the real thing. Aaron is a catch.

Whitney needs a new start. Her life has taken a turn and she needs family around. She needs love and distraction. She never expected to get it from the man with the deep southern drawl that makes her insides quiver at a mere greeting. (Why not- I would be putty!)

Life is complicated and love is simple. It's only complicated if we make it. So sit back, relax, maybe grab some Boone's Farm, and enjoy the pleasure that is Southern Desire.

Did I mention the real life cowboy with the heart of gold and body of Adonis!?! I feel like it needs repeating.

P.S. I need some Walker snuggles.

What an amazing story Southern Desire was I was totally addicted from the very beginning. I adore Kaylee Ryan's writing style and the depth of the characters she gives us you can't help but fall in love with them.

Whitney hasn't had it easy in life, these past few years. She now finds herself all alone in the city of Chicago. She decides she need to be with her aunt and her family, the only ones she has left so she packs up and moves to Kentucky.

Aaron is a total sweetheart he works hard on his family's ranch and has that old southern charm about him. He's never really had a girlfriend, he's holding out for that one girl to come along and steel his heart.

When his sister introduces him to her new employee Whitney, sparks fly instantly. Could he have finally met "the one" or will Whitney's insecurities in life tear them apart before the even have a chance to begin?

"Promise me you will open your heart. Find him, the one who flips your world upside down and let him love you" was Whitney's mother dying wish. She wanted her girl to be happy and in love. And Aaron was her man. Mr Swoon worthy and total heart throb cowboy.

This was the first read from Kaylee Robert of a Southern Heart series that I read. Of not reading the first of the series, it was easy to pick up and understand. What's in the water in Kentucky? I'm telling you that their mama's taught their boys right. Southern Desire left your troubles at the door and your mind to shut off. It did bring some concerns to the forefront. Breast cancer and having the people you love fight the battle with you.

I really enjoyed Southern Desire. Opening your heart for love and being with the people you love by your side.
