Returning home, Olly and Aiden focus on preparations for the party. When Aiden is called away, Olly takes a walk to clear his head, keeping his eye on a brewing storm. To his horror, he discovers Mark Vickery, an old enemy, has landed on the island by boat and is out for revenge.

With Olly missing and the storm raging, Joe, Heath and Aiden set out on a rescue mission that unfolds in a way none of them expected. Can the storm wash away the past or will Olly and Joe’s future be destroyed by a twist of fate?

Lucinda lives in a small village in the English countryside, surrounded by rolling hills, cows and sheep. She started writing to fill time between jobs and is now firmly and unashamedly addicted.

She loves the English weather, especially the rain, and adores a thunderstorm. She loves good food, warm company and a crackling fire. She's fascinated by the psychology of relationships, especially between men, and her stories contain some subtle (and some not so subtle) leanings towards BDSM.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the eighth book in the series - and relates directly to the very first couple in book 1, Joe and Olly. They have had a lot of drama in their relationship - and Joe has big plans for their future, and the celebrations for the tenth anniversary of The Edge. Olly is using the planning for the party as a way of getting over his recent traumas, but is overwhelmed. This gives all the guys to step up and provide their support, and show him how important he is to them all.

I love this episode in the series - not only does the ongoing plot finally get resolution, but thanks to the party we get to catch up on all the relationships, and there are hints at possible future matches. It gives more insight into the dynamics that can exist in a Ds relationship and how different they can be. It is intense, hot and has lovely moments of humour. Some difficult loose ends are resolved, and the future definitely looks bright!

Thank you Ms Somerton for another lovely installment.

Pleasure and pain…. Pleasure through pain. How appropriate that’s exactly what reading this book felt like. The pure pleasure of spending time with Olly & Joe, Aiden & Heath and all their assorted friends has now been tempered by the pain of having to say goodbye. But then again, I’m sure Joe and Heath wouldn’t hesitate before explaining that the pain only heightens and confirms the pleasure.

*Sighs* All good things must come to an end—or so the saying goes, I’m not at all convinced. And as series go, Tales from the Edge is most definitely a wondrous thing and as a result I’m heartbroken that with Binding the Edges we do indeed reach the conclusion of what has been a joyful and utterly delightful reading experience.

I’m so happy that Binding the Edges turned out to be the perfect finale to what has been an amazing and thoroughly enjoyable journey. In this story the edges are indeed bound, every thread is beautifully and satisfactory tied off, and the ending to Olly and Joe’s storyline is as perfect as I could have hoped for.

Of course these men have a road to travel before they’re allowed to reach their happily ever after. And what a journey it is—roller coaster ride is probably a better term. Between the hilarious preparations for the anniversary celebrations, the kinky times Joe and Olly indulge in every time they have the opportunity, and danger in the form of deranged Dom Mark Vickery once again raising its ugly head, the reader is thrown from one emotion into the next with barely a moment’s respite to catch her breath; delicious.

I could continue gushing about this book, but I’d rather spend some time and words declaring my love for this series. For me a book or series of books is a success when the characters get under my skin, crawl into my heart, and become so well defined that I know I would recognise them if I ran across them in the street. And that’s exactly what happened with the men in these books. Maybe they’re not all equally clear in my mind’s eye but I can’t deny that especially Olly, Joe, Heath and Aiden have now claimed their place among my favourite characters ever. The close to perfect combination of romance, kinky sexiness, and suspense had me hooked from the very first book. And while none of the individual titles in this series made it on to my ‘extra-special’ list, the Tales from The Edge series as a whole has found its place near the top of that particular ranking.

No matter how sad I am that this is the last book in this series I have to admit Binding the Edges is a fabulous conclusion to a wonderful series.

Four and a half stars!
This was such a good story. Going in I wasn’t sure how I felt about a former bad guy coming back, but the set up in the previous book left me optimistic of how this one would go. While I think Olly has had enough mishaps in this series, this story wasn’t as focused on it as in previous books. It was surprisingly less than I expected. I enjoyed seeing all of the other characters from the series in this book. It’s always nice seeing previous couples and get to check in to see how they’re all doing.

Olly struggled to deal with emotions after the events of the previous book. I adored getting to see how he let go and gave up to Joe and let Joe take the burden. Olly was so content after their holiday. He reached a level of bliss that was beautiful to see. He was so in love with Joe and needed him to make the decisions. It was lovely to see him give up control like that.

Joe struggled hard in this story as well. He blamed himself for much of what happened in the last two books and needed to let those feelings go. I liked how Joe handled that self blame but I wish it wouldn’t have been cut short. There was so much emotion in that scene before it ended. I really liked how Joe kept checking in with Olly to be sure he was alright throughout the story and in their scenes. He always had Olly’s best interest at heart. He was deeply in love and was quite soppy. I loved his question to Olly at the end. It was the perfect ending to the story and showed how much Joe loved Olly.

These two are wonderful together. They complete each other in ways many couples would strive for. The byplay between Joe and Olly is so fun to see. Even when they’re deep in a scene they can still laugh and love, have fun and enjoy each other’s presence. This book ties up all of the loose strings and shows you a wonderful happily ever after for the entire gang at The Edge and The Underground. I would love for Tor to get his own story. I want to see him get a happily ever after. He deserves happiness.

I'm so sorry to see this series end, but it's been a wonderful ride.
This review is going to be short. I don't want to provide any spoilers, especially as this is the finale of one of my all-time favorite series.
Ollie, as you know if you've been following the series, is a bratty little sub with a heart of gold. He's also a nurse and the beloved sub and partner of Joe, one of the owners of The Edge BDSM and sometimes corporate training center. Some time ago Ollie attracted a dangerous, unhinged stalker.
Joe is an ultimate Dom who knows the difference between owning a sub and offering another man the love and guidance he needs. And he's super hot!
In the finale of the series, The Edge staff are preparing for a Tenth Anniversary celebration of the facility. Or so they think. Before the book ends a threat is eliminated,a new Dom and sub find each other, everyone we've met and fallen in love with gather for a celebration party, and a beautiful HEA is won.
If you are new to the 8 book series, it's never too late to start, and if you've been anticipating the finale, it's here and well worth the wait. This book was dedicated to Will, so we have LM Somerton and her friend Will to thank for a lovely reading experience.

This book continues the story of the men of The Edge, focusing this time on Olly and Joe. Their relationship is deepening and Joe is looking for a further commitment. Olly sometimes deals with a lack of self-confidence, but he is a delightful sub who is generally happy and even-tempered.

Olly thinks his kidnapper and torturer is still behind bars. He's busy planning events related to The Edge's tenth anniversary celebration. Little does he know that the man has been prematurely released from jail. This book has danger, passion, good friends, and a beautiful, committed love.

Binding the edges, finishing off the book - so the series finishes.
Whilst these are fairly easy tales to read, they do somehow get their claws into you!
Olly is both lovable and annoying - he is like a child at times so I actually prefer him when he is in his more serious mode.
This really is a finishing off of the previous book where we got half way through the party planning - with Olly in a hostage situation.
This time the party is upon us - and Olly is in a hostage situation, but potentially more dangerous this time. Though it does not last long.
The other subs come to his and Aiden's rescue, showing the strength of their community - and ends on a lovely note.

If you asked me to choose my favorite characters in an M/M book, Olly would be very near the top (which is funny, because he’s so far from being a top….) He’s brash, bold, funny as hell, and a total brat. He’s also madly in love with his Dom, Joe. Everything Joe does brings Olly peace of mind, from spankings to orgasm denial, Olly will do anything Joe asks, just because it’s Joe. And Joe is so in love with Olly, it’s hard to imagine not having Olly in his life. But… Yeah, always a but isn’t there? When Joe gets word that Mark Vickery, the man who allowed Olly’s abuse, has been freed from prison, he does whatever is necessary to protect his boy. And therein starts our tale.

Joe wants to get away for a while. So with Heath and Aiden, he takes Olly to the new business some friends of theirs are opening for a little rest and relaxation. The exchanges between Olly and Aiden, who is such a different type of sub, are hilarious, but there is love between them, too. This new place that’s being opened is a sort of bed and breakfast for those in the BDSM lifestyle. The location sounds amazing, and I’d like to visit just to see the wild horses that he takes pictures of.

There are so many things going on in this story. Planning for an event that Olly and Aiden have taken over, and now Olly is fretting it won’t be perfect. A meeting between Joe and Heath where Joe drops an epic bombshell on his best friend. And, of course, the specter that hovers over them all, Mark Vickery, whose reach is long.

The Edge has been an incredible series, and I’m going to be sad to see it end. L.M. has given us some wonderful characters, brought a lot of fun, and more than a share of tears. If you haven’t started the series, now is a good time to do it, because you’re going to want to see how it all ends. Tears, heartache, and feels all around for everyone!

REVIEWED FOR PRISM BOOK ALLIANCE

4.5 Stars

The fans of this series will be more than aware that poor Olly has had a really hard time catching a break recently. Still recovering from being held hostage his life is going full speed ahead as he helps organise the ten year celebration of the The Edge whilst putting up with renovations taking place and being the best he can for Joe, his beloved Dom.

Tales from the Edge has given us a number of couples and each of them has sucked me in with their stories but Joe and Olly will always hold a special place – they are who I immediately think about when someone mentions this series. Joe and Olly live a 24/7 D/s relationship and omg it just works – they just work.

A trip away to spend time with Heath and Aiden helps the healing process and enables them to get their kink on in front of a very large window but it wouldn’t be a story involving Olly unless there was some sort of impending disaster. That happens when they return home and Olly comes face to face with his worst nightmare. Although this was another traumatic event it definitely helped Olly realise he is much stronger than he thought. This series is one of my favourites, it’s like sitting down with an old friend, and as there are a few stories left to be told I hope there is still more to come.

Binding the edges

OMG what can I say? Such a fabulous ending to this series, I loved how she brought the tale full circle from Joe and Olly meeting after the horror of Mark to it ending with his timely demise. The fact that all the sub's came together to help with the party was such a nice touch too. My only poor point is that it had to come to an end as we still need stories of all the other couples mentioned! Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys this genre
