Rate this book
When your future lies in the past…

Emma Clayton changed history when she saved Lord Henry Drake’s life one hundred and sixty years in the past. Now, with her heart and soul passionately and irrevocably linked to his, she’ll stop at nothing to get back to 1854 England.

Born to a life of duty and integrity, Henry Drake, the future Earl of Pembrooke, is honor-bound to protect the woman he loves at any cost. But when he’s confronted with Emma’s disappearance and a long list of false accusations against her, the depth of those feelings and the fortitude of his character are put to the test.

However, getting back to the man she loves and clearing her name are the least of Emma's problems. A powerful ancient order of wayfarers is closing in, intent on wiping out her bloodline for good.

There was just so much happening in this book. Yes it was full of adventure and secrets and violence and there is a very steamy passage in it that some might not like, but it was all just a bit too much for me. From one page to the next it was one mishap after another. They had just solved one problem and patched up whoever had been injured that time, than it was happening again.
Also there were family members popping up in the past willy nilly!! She started off the book being alone and ended up with numerous relatives. I had to suspend disbelief a lot of the time. When a major relation turned up towards the end it was all accepted without any hassle what so ever and I thought 'that's it, I'm done'!
You get to meet Miss Crabtree again and I still like her best of all. Again this ends on a cliff hanger. Not sure if I'll bother with the next one. Readers who like a more intense, intriguing time travel will probably love this book. I enjoy them more straight forward.

Unpredictable. Good Pacing.

Sometimes it seemed there were a few call-outs to Nicole Van's House of Oak series in small details like the iPhone game and the solar charger. I don't know if they were intentional or not.

The characters are consistent from Book One. There were frequent changes in POV in the beginning of the book--well, throughout, but Isobel speaks less later in the book, and you won't miss the little psychopath.

There are two critical HEAs, and then another major cliffhanger. It's all really quite enjoyable.

Heads up: At least one, maybe two R-rated scenes between the two primary characters. Otherwise this would be a very PG story.

Book three is not yet published. Fair warning if you think you can't handle the wait of the cliff hanger.

Darn cliffs, i hate hanging from them

This one was better than the first, which in and of its own was outstanding. We get the mothers side of the story, as well as the sisters and more of that loveable firecracker Mrs Crabtree. I would tell you more but I gotta get off this cliff before someone gets hurt. Namely anyone standing in the way of me finishing this trilogy.
It is a trilogy right? Don't let me find out that there is a fourth book in store that's yet unpunished... I don't think I can handle any more cliffhangers... I'm not exactly the patient kinda gal.

Thank goodness I bought this one before finishing the first one! More characters were added and that really helped to fill in any questions one may have had from the first book.
Lot's of drama and of course, love! Certainly didn't see the cliff hanger at the end! Can't wait for the next book to come out!

There is so much going on in this story. Every single person has a plot and an event and a problem and at times it's overwhelming.

The writing is good at least. No grammatical or spelling errors.

Now I can't wait for the rest of the story! Will it be from her mother's perspective or her aunt's or Miss Crabtree or...? Where is the aunt's other journal? Will April rent the cottage? Will April travel back with Emma (or the aunt?) and fall in love with the lieutenant? What is the ex-fiance's connection to Isobel? Will he reappear to try to claim Emma or her child? Will Emma time travel more and take Henry along to learn about modern medicine? Who are the 'A' Wayfarers? What is their story? So many possibilities!!

A fantastic historical romance packed with mystery and adventure.

After reading the first book, The Wayfarer I absolutely have to see what would transpire in the sequel. This book did not disappoint! It is very well written. I have to say that it is not predictable at all, there are twist and turns at every corner and you'll never see it coming. I could not put this book down. I am dying to see how this story ends as there must be another book in the works. The characters are deeply written and you can get a true feeling of who they are. A truly amazing author.

Page Turner!

Couldn't put this book down. I loved the first in the series so I was eager to read this one. Love how the story is unpredictable and always kept me guessing. Th ending has me on pins and needles for a 3rd book. The storey has to continue for Emma and Henry! Not to mention her mom and new found father - a Duke no less. And of course Henry's sister Isobel, the wretched girl.
