Ce court roman surfe sur la vague des relations interdites de façon assez rapide et convenue mas la lecture reste agréable.
Xavier est un ancien musicien, ancien drogué et il sort de quelques années où il a repris le contrôle de sa vie. Lorsqu’un ami lui présente sa fille, qui a besoin de soutien pour lancer sa carrière musicale, Xavier accepte bien entendu mais manque d’avoir une attaque cardiaque quand il découvre la superbe jeune femme qu’est devenue Naomi. Il va tout de même tenir le choc et l’aider mais l’attirance est mutuelle et assez irrésistible.
La nouvelle est très sympa mais un peu trop rapide. Ce qui est très dommage est que le héros et même l’héroïne ont un passif assez lourd. En quelques lignes, ‘auteure revient sur le passé glorieux puis misérable de Xavier. C’est un homme endurci par la vie, la drogue, les excès qui lui ont fait tout perdre notamment la garde sa petite fille. Il est très fragilisé par tout cela ce qui le rend émouvant. Il y avait matière de développer bien plus sa vie personnelle. Nul doute que cela aurait renforcé l’aspect très touchant de cette romance. Naomi est à l’aube de sa vie, bien plus jeune aussi. Elle a un projet original qui n’est pas la simple carrière de musicienne qui est présentée au départ.

Borrowed Tyme é um prequel sobre a história primorosa de duas pessoas que se encontram no momento certo da vida e ao mesmo tempo incerto.
Xavier está sóbrio e reconstruindo sua vida, enquanto Naomi está começando a trilhar o seu. Os dois juntos são combustão, amizade, prazer, companheirismo e alguma diferença de idade, mas este último só deixa a leitura mais intensa e delicada, tudo ao mesmo tempo.
Gosto muito quando a leitura me deixa sentimentos mistos. Pois tanto o quanto eu amei e me emocionei com a vida difícil do Xavier e como ele está tentando se reerguer depois de passar alguns anos viciado em drogas e perdendo tudo o que ele considerava importante mas não dava valor. Já Naomi tem uma vida normal com seu pai e está descobrindo o que quer fazer da vida e está correndo atrás de seus sonhos. Só que Naomi é filha do melhor amigo de Xavier, e o que faz quando isso acontece?
Adoro livros que tem diferença de idade entre o casal, e deixa um ar de dificuldade no relacionamento. Amei, amei e amei, e já quero muito ler Stolen Tyme que vai contar o reencontro do casal.
Já estou com saudades deles <3

Good stuff! I need more!
Ooo....I so enjoyed this book! It was a quick read but so full of all the good stuff! A little taboo, a lot hot, some drama and angst! I can't wait to read more from this author!

Here is the start of a great storyline. You have a rock god that's been sober for 3 yrs. Along with his ex wife Zoey( typical baby mamma) and his daughter Charlie. He moves back home to be closer to spend time with her.
Then you have Lock and his daughter Naomi. She's 19 almost 20. Lock and Xavier have always been best friends regardless of all the mess ups Xavier has done.
X is asked to help Naomi fulfill her dreams of "singing" little does he know that's not her real dream. He agrees and in that moment sparks fly between the two. Lines are definitely crossed in this book. You are left with cliffy end. But it's not to bad. I'd recommend this book to my friends because it was an enjoyable read and kept me interested.

So good. I can't wait to read the next one! Ms. Ziegler didn't disappoint again. This almost made me cry.

Xavier and Lock have been friends since childhood. When Lock got a girl pregnant at 17 and found himself a single parent 2 months after his daughter was born, he became the man nobody expected him to, but when Xavier showed up high to his little girl's birthday party he didn't have a problem kicking him out.
Now, 10 years later and sober 2 years, Xavier is back to make amends and meets grown up Naomi who wants to get in the music business. When Lock asks for him to guide her, he knows he should say no, but he can't find it in him to stay away from her.

I really enjoyed this short story. It had a bit of everything and added taboo subject. Older man/younger woman isn’t a story that appeals to me normally but Naomi was an old soul and I felt that she was on a mature enough level for Xaviar. The chemistry between them both was believable. I am looking forward to reading book two.

This is the first book by S.L. Ziegler that I have read and omg, I wish I would have found her work earlier. It was well written, HOT, HOT, HOT and a great quick prequel to Stolen Tyme. Xavier and Naomi meet at a time when they both seem to be needing something that the other can provide. I can't wait to see how their story ends.

A quick, sexy read. I enjoyed this taboo story....Older man/younger female, best friends daughter. Makes for a story full of angst, some humor and sexy scenes.
Characters dealing with real life issues lend to the believability of the story and draws the reader in.
*Note...this does have a c!cliffhanger ending
... But I was left with wondering how it's all going to play out. There's a lot packed into this little story!

This novella left me dying for more.
I love everything about X and Naomi.
X is her dads best friend and Naomi is the forbidden fruit he shouldn't want -so of course he wants her! Ups and down happen and then the bomb comes and holy shit... that ending!!
I can not wait for the full length novel to come in February!!!

I am a new fan of S.L. Ziegler after Borrowed Tyme. This short story consumed me and I want more now!!!! February can't get here soon enough. I need to know more about Naomi & Xaiver. The career path she wants fits perfectly in keeping the attention of her dad's best friend.

Love the Heroine
Loved the story, it had a kick ass heroine. She knew what she wants and went after it with both hands. The problem is the ending.
