Elizabeth “Liz” Frost has always been the wild one. But now, with a niece or nephew on the way and her promise to become half of the new psychic Oracle team for the Blood Ravagers Biker Gang, she’s ready to turn over a new leaf. And what better way to start than by answering the call when gang leader Dante needs help? Her mission: to travel cross-country to get the information the gang needs to complete the Oracle Binding Ceremony. Should be easy, right? Except for the incredibly tempting lone-wolf shifter named Dex who’ll be her riding partner and protector on the journey.
Dexter “Dex” MacCallahan is tasked with guarding Liz Frost, one of the gang’s beautiful and bewildering new psychics. Dex can’t refuse the mission, but there’s one small problem. The time of his Rut is approaching, a rare occurrence where male wolf-shifters must physically bond with their chosen mate or face certain insanity and death. It could cost him not only the new life he’s built, but also his battered, scarred heart.
Together, Dex and Liz must search for the information they need before his old nemesis and a rival gang annihilates all they hold dear. But when the simmering chemistry between them boils over into searing hot passion, will they risk losing their hearts to save the ones they love?

Book one Blood Bound didn’t hit it off with me. I wasn’t sure if I was going to try the next installment in the Blood Bound series, but I’m glad I did. Liz and Dex won me over.
Blood Freed was funny, exciting, adventures, and action-packed. We are back into the Blood Ravagers MC world. This time the stakes are higher and two unlike people will find what they both have been needing.
Liz is the free spirit. Her sister thinks she is going to bolt and not commit to the gang as there Oracle. Liz wants to prove to herself and the others that that is not the case. That she’s just been searching for her path, her destiny.
Dex is a lone wolf shifter who is haunted by his past. He’s got some issues, but when he is told by his president to protect Liz and help on this mission, he will give it his all even though it’s not the best time for him.
This story was exciting, intense, and full of sexual tension. I liked the banter and sexual tension that is broiling; between Liz and Dex. They both have issues and so neither believe in themselves, but both see the good in the other. The author captured their insecurities, fears, and emotions stunningly. I liked their connection and how they become each other's strength. They complemented each other and you could feel their emotions and bond throughout story. The plot was exhilarating from solving the clues to facing the dangers and watching the characters work together. We are also treated to a few surprises along the way and a set up for the next book.
Blood Freed was a marvelously exhilarating read.

Here we are back in the world of MC and paranormal but this time we are visiting with two different but compatible characters, Dex and Liz. I was excited to see more of this world. I felt a bit more connected to them since reading book one of this series. I was more in tuned with the continued sub-plot from book one. I did appreciate seeing more of various characters from the first book. With this one it was not so much about the new characters, really not new, but their journey. I look forward to the next book of the series. I am making a connection to this world of bikers, shifters, psychics, and more.
Dex was sexy hot and totally in for a bit of surprise.
This is one of the few times reading a series out-of-order paid off. If I had read book one first, chances are I would not have continued the series, and I would missed out on two awesome stories. Thankfully, I had an enjoyable experience with the last book in the series, which prompted me to read the earlier books.
What the story is about
BLOOD FREED takes us back into the world of supernatural beings and motorcycle gangs. In this installment we get the 411 on Anna's twin Liz and the werewolf Dexter MacCallahan. Liz is geared to take up her position, along with her sister, as the Oracle for the Blood Ravagers gang, but to do so they need to complete a binding ceremony. Unfortunately, the completion of the ceremony required vital information, which was not readily available. To obtain this information meant going on a dangerous journey. Liz, in a bid to prove she was competent, courageous and committed, volunteered to acquire the information.
To ensure her safety, Dexter was assigned the task of accompanying her. He was not keen about going, but this was a job he could not refuse, as getting this information was vital to security of all supernatural beings. However, there was a major problem: his rut was near, a rare phenomenon that requires werewolves to bond with their chosen mate. Failure to do so meant certain insanity and death.
What I liked:
The Story Action, suspense, humour and sexual tension permeated the pages of this story. Danger abound as their enemies hunted the information Liz and Dex were seeking. I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between the protagonists, which was filled with humour and sexual innuendoes. The intensity of the action and suspense kept me on my toes and had me eagerly turning the pages. The story was narrated in the third person from both Liz and Dex's perspectives. Usually, I would have a hard time with third person narration, but fortunately this was not the case in this instance. The story came alive, and I felt as if I was involved in every aspect of this tale.
The Characters
Liz acts tough, but she is scared of embracing her destiny as the Oracle. She feared her love for adventure would cause her to fail as the Oracle. Therefore, she believed undertaking the dangerous mission would prove to the gang members and herself that she was more than capable of fulfilling her destiny. I had no problem relating to her. I understood her fears. Being an Oracle was a big deal and not a position to be taken lightly. What I loved most about her was her determination and strength. She was definitely a force to be reckoned with as her enemies would discover.
Dexter is a stoic, moody and gruff wolf shifter. A lone wolf scared of repeating the mistakes of his ancestors. Despite his attraction to Liz he believed he was not worthy of her. The burden of guilt from his past weighed him down, hindered his desire for happiness and caused him to doubt his abilities. His fear of history repeating itself trumped his fear of going on the mission with Liz. This fueled his determination in ensuring the success of the mission. Along the way, he would re-discover himself and learn that things were not always what they seem.
I enjoyed the interaction between Liz and Dex. I thought they were perfect for each. Two damaged souls who helped each other heal. Their feelings for each leapt off the pages and I found myself rooting for them every step of the way.
Conclusion /Recommendation: This was an improvement to the previous installment. It was fun, exhilarating, adventurous, and suspenseful and filled with heat. I enjoyed every moment spent in the world that the author created.
Overall an exciting read and one which I recommend to readers who enjoy action, suspense and heat and the supernatural world.
Blood Freed (Blood Ravagers, #2) by Traci Douglass is a good read and a welcome addition to this hot series. This is a complex story that features a sizzling love/hate relationship. Characters are strong and have very good chemistry. Book if full of drama, action and steam. An enjoyable and entertaining read that is perfect for paranormal fans. I am posting an honest review after an ARC copy of this book.
*I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinion stated are solely my own and no one else's*
Blood Freed was exciting, funny, and action packed.
Dex is a wolf shifter who is haunted by his past. The rut is upon him and his mission to seek the historian with Liz is breaking every ounce of his control. He needs to control his wolf's sexual urges but Liz is like his very own sexual siren; awakening every part of him.
Liz wants to prove she's worthy and the mission will help her establish that. However, she's drawn to Dex, he makes her lady parts tingle with just one look. She makes him an offer to help control his wolf's urges but will the stubborn, alpha wolf accept?
I absolutely loved Blood Freed, it was exciting yet intense. I enjoyed the bickering, bantering and the thick sexual tension simmering between Dex and Liz. These two had sizzling hot chemistry. Neither believes in themselves, but both see the good in the other. The author captured their insecurities, fears, and emotions beautifully throughout. I loved their connection; it was breathtakingly how they become each other's strength in such a short time. These two complemented each other nicely; making their bond shine brighter.
The plot was thrilling and had me eagerly flipping through the pages. From solving the clues, to facing the dangers that headed their way and listening to Rev and Dex hurl insults at each other - it made everything intense, gripping but entertaining.
A fantastic book which I thoroughly enjoyed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Liz was training to become the gang’s Oracle with her sister Anna over the last couple of months. She noticed a definite shift in the strength of her powers From her earliest memories she had always been able to do the normal psychic stuff like: talk to the dead, astral projection, even predict the future a little though that was tricky. Liz clutched the oblong green and fuchsia tourmaline pendant around her neck and waited for the next line of the ancient invocation. After all Liz and Anna were forming permanent psychic link with the entire Blood Ravagers MC. Liz struggled not to giggle. This was not the way the Oracle Binding ceremony was suppose to end. This was to end with the twin sisters Anna and Liz becoming the Oracles connecting Liz and Anna mentally and emotionally with all the club’s members. Anna told Liz she had never seriously committed to anything in her life. Dante and Anna were expecting their first child and was the MC president.Dante asked the old priest why he shouldn’t kill him as the old priest was not an actual member of the club but told them part of the parts to the incantation was missing and he was the only one who knew where they could find the information they needed to complete the ceremony. The idea of Liz binding herself to anyone or anything let alone an entire MC filled her with bone deep paralyzing fear. Liz loved Seven and her club. This was Liz’s home now. If there was something wrong with the ritual they would just have to fix it before proceeding Waiting didn’t mean Liz would run but give her a chance to say goodbye to her old life, her carefree old ways, her freedom…. Dante had a half pain demon side. The gang had fought long and hard to make Seven and the entire town of Salvation a safe haven for all otherworlders - pure and half breed. The Blood Ravagers are a MC composed of outcasts and half breeds. Then Liz felt a stirring deep inside her- a frightening feeling. The feeling felt like something Liz had longed for her whole life. The stirring inside her felt like destiny. Dex felt more comfortable behind the bar. But Dante called Dex and Dex didn’t have many friends but Dante was one so he answered. He owed Dante his life. Dex was Dante’s closest confidant and a wolf shifter. Twenty years Dex had run building a new identity , a new life. Every gang member heard howls and waited for the attack all had weapons but then nothing happened. Word was Rev used to work for the Council as a top assassin. Then one day Rev mysteriously left the Council behind which was all but an impossible feat since no one in the Underworld left the Council behind. But deep down Dex didn’t think Rev was a traitor. Dex itched to pull Liz in his arms and keep her safe from all harm. But Dex came to terms long ago he was destined to life his life alone. Dex considered the gang his adopted family- Dante had taken Dex in when no one else would and for that he would protect them all with what was left of his worthless life. Then Dante tells Dex he must go with Liz to try to find the Historian who is suppose to have the key to all the knowledge of the Underworld. Each full moon brought a rut cycle for wolf shifters. Dex had planned to head into Cheyanne to deal with his needs. But it was a double whammy as it was a rare blue moon. But if Liz and Dex were together twenty four- seven chances are high Dex wouldn’t be able to stop himself from taking Liz when the hunger grew to strong and his animal side took over. Dante told Dex hs decision was final and Dante trusted Dex to keep Liz safe under pain of death. Rev would provide backup as needed. Liz should be happy after all Dante handed her what she said she wanted which was a chance to show everyone once and for all she was every bit as competent and committed and courageous as the rest. When Liz was little her franma compared Liz to a wild pony and said Liz was always running, always searching, skittish, and untamed. Liz felt that Dex was gorgeous, even if Dex was a bit cold and aloof. Most of the time when Dex wasn’t serving drinks or food or quoting some obscure Shakespeare line, he barely spoke two words. Dex was haunted by his past. Liz had been picked on a lot for her strange ways, she had learned quick tears were a sign of weakness. Then Liz felt a pain slice through her right temple and blood was on her hand from her nose. Then Dex told her it was the Oracle for the rivals The Soul Crushers She was Ursula and with a wolf shifter named Zane..The Blood Ravages had enemies that wanted to destroy the MC. I enjoyed this story . it made me chuckle at times. I loved Liz and Dex became each other's strength. I loved the adventure and action. This story draws you in and keeps you attention until the last page of this story. I loved Dex and Liz together and was rooting for them . I loved how even though she was scared Liz wanted to commit to being half of the Oracle team . I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.
Dex (Wolfie) and Liz (Ladyluck) underlying theme is to believe in yourself!!! There was reference to Shakespeare throughout out the story which I wish I was more familiar with and the reference to the nickname Ladyluck.
I enjoyed how the two lost souls learned to believe in each other and overcome the odds, when really the just needed to look inside.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
It was ok. The writing was good, but it had some typos and grammatical issues that could have been fixed if someone read it over once more before publishing. I liked it well enough that I will give the next book a try in the future.
If you haven’t read the first book in the Blood Bound series I advise you stop right here and read Blood Bound first. Blood Freed continues the saga. But in this story, we have Elizabeth who is the other half of Anna. But whereas Anna was the more reliable twin, Liz was the flighty one. But where is the fun if you can’t be different. Whereas the first title of this series had more drama. Blood Freed is more action packed and full of sexual tension as the two main characters of Dex and Liz story unfolds. This story had a hidden meaning a moral if you must call it. That you can accomplish just about anything if you just believe in yourself. I will recommend this story to all paranormal enthusiast.
The Blood Ravagers are a group of Otherworld outlaws. They are a mix of shifters, vampires and demons. They have enemies that want to destroy them especially the Council. Liz Frost and her twin, Anna, go through the ceremony to become their Oracle, but the incantation doesn't work. Now Liz and Dex MacCallahan, a wolf shifter with a troubled past, must follow the clues to find the answers needed to save the Blood Ravagers. I admired Liz. She is a strong woman who is determined to overcome her fears and be a better person. Dex is drawn to her, but his past has damaged him. He won't let himself become involved with Liz. Their story drew me in. It's action packed from start to finish. I loved these intriguing characters, especially Liz and Dex. These two have a love-hate relationship that fuels a constant fire between them. The ending kept me on the edge of my seat. Traci Douglass did an excellent job with the Blood Ravagers series. I'm looking forward to the next book. I want to know what happened to the Rev.
Blood Freed (Blood Ravagers Book 2) by Traci Douglas
This is Elizabeth "Liz" Frost and Dexter "Dex" MacCallahan's story.
Liz and Dex end up on a mission to find the information needed to complete the Oracle Binding Ceremony. The story goes through their dangerous and steamy journey. The chemistry between Dex and Liz is very intense. Will they give into this chemistry? Since it is the time of Rut for Dex will this add additional problems or pleasures on their journey?
Blood Freed is very different from what I normally read. Readers that loves shifter stories with steamy scenes, and paranormal activity will enjoy this story.
FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Blood Freed by Traci Douglass was a delightful read in a genre of romance, thrill and fantasy. It´s part of a series, "Blood Ravagers", and this is book 2. I haven´t read book one yet, but I´m grabbing that one next. So I think you can easily read them in any order you like, but you will probably get a little more out of it if you read them in order.
An epic road trip between shifter, Dex and Liz, a psychic Oracle team for the Blood Ravagers Bikers Gang as they need to gather information the gang needs to complete the Oracle Binding Ceremony. Dex will be the protector of Liz, until they find the sexual chemistry between them is very hot.
A very different read for me, but thoroughly enjoyed the shifters, vampires and demons. Great chemistry between Dex and Liz. The story kept me turning the pages. This is part of a series but can be read as stand alone. I recommend this book to all paranormal readers.
The Blood Ravagers are a motorcycle gang composed of outcasts and half-breeds living in the small town of Salvation, Wyoming. Liz and her sister Anna are to be the gang’s oracles together forming a strong bond and force. In the middle of the binding ceremony, Liz knows it’s not working and finds herself actually giggling about it. They find out that there is a missing piece to the ceremony and Liz and Dex, a wolf-shaper, are united to find the missing piece. This takes them on a dangerous adventure, fraught with treacherous and jeopardizing situations while fighting between each other for love.
Blood Freed is the second in Traci Douglass' Blood Bound series. I couldn't help but be intrigued with a paranormal romance involving a biker gang and shifters, demons, and vampires.
Liz and Dex take us on a page turning road trip as they gather information needed for the binding ceremony. Their chemistry and exciting adventure kept me reading. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next between them.
I voluntarily read a advanced reader's copy of this book
Blood Freed by Traci Douglass. Book two in the Blood Ravagers series. Not my usual type of book to read but I liked it. It had vampires, shifters and demons in the book. Loved the cover.
Didn't realize this was the second book of a series after starting it and feeling quite lost, as if I should have known what was going on... may or may not read at a later date, depending on if I read the first book of the series.
I received this book from the authors for an honest review. Man was I loving this book. I sat and couldn’t put it down. I was loving Liz, Dex, and Rev in the first book. I gotta admit I wasn’t sure which guy I wanted Liz with. Hell, I would have been thrilled with a little MFM action!! But when I got to see the dynamics between Liz and Dex, they totally belong together. Liz has lived in the shadow of her sister Anna forever. She never thought she was enough, so she took on the party girl, cant be hurt persona. She wasn’t content to sit but needed to travel. She need adventure and the thought of settling down to be the Blood Ravagers Oracle kinda scared her a bit. But she demanded the right to go and figure out what was missing for the spell to bind her, her sister, and the guys together. Dex has had a rough life. A lone wolf hiding from his past and the horrors of his family’s murders. He is not a fan of The Council and will always protect the guys in the Blood Ravagers. When he is told to go and help Liz, he flips out. His rut will be happening, and he is already attracted to his alpha’s sister in law. Nothing good can come of this especially when the alpha demands you leave her alone…hand off!! Dex and Liz go through a lot to realize they bother are MORE then they think they are. They both have a lot of opening and soul searching to happen to finally realize they too deserve a HEA. The angst is great. The “rutting scenes” are fun times to read 😉 but the connection they both make and the realizations they make on this journey turn their lives upside down. Rev………GAH…where is my older then dirty vampire. What has happened to him? I so need to read and see how the guys save this dark soul.
