Under ordinary circumstances, waking up bound and gagged next to a hot guy wouldn't be the worst thing that's ever happened, but these aren't ordinary circumstances. There's guys with guns after us...LOTS of them--both the guns and the guys.

Six-six, built like a god, red hair, blue eyes, and a tree trunk between his legs. Yeah. This is the guy I got kidnapped with. Phrasing is important there: kidnapped WITH, not kidnapped BY.

Fortunately, Duke Silver is a hard-core badass, because it's going to take every last shred of skill he has as a killer commando to keep us both alive, and even then, nothing's a sure thing.

How you gonna leave a sister hanging like that???????
I can't even with that ending!!!! Just gonna put this out the Jasinda...I NEED the next book like yesterday. *grumbles* stupid cliffhangers ... *grumbles more* leaves a sister hanging like that...how rude...

Okay in all seriousness though my favorite book so far of this series...and I as you can clearly tell cannot wait for Puck's book. I also cannot wait to see them go off on this guy...I mean sure pick on one girl from this group...that a mistake yeah. Now this crazy asshole decided to piss off every single one of the guys with girls...you sir have a death wish of epic proportions.
I mean seriously did he NOT get the memo that Roth and Harris both have Russian mafia guys in their back pockets?!?!?!

Okay one thing did bug me through this who book...Temple is a celebrity....how in the blue hell has no one reported her missing???? I mean she has a reality show so I sure her not answering her cell phone for over 24 hours is extremely weird...she has producers and I'm sure assistants and even her parents at some point during all this trying to contact her...
Okay I'm over analyzing this way to deeply now...I'm leaving it here...lol.

Obviously I love this book, and can't wait for the next one *HINT HINT* Jasinda... :)

This is a continued tale of the Alpha One Security team.

The sexual tension was great but the TALKING...blah, blah, blah, blah. Holy SHIT, there is so much internal monologue! I skipped 49% of this book because of the TALKING!

With all the talking, all the confusing, bloody action, and the secondary characters it left little room in the story for the actual romance. Yes, the sex was off-the-charts HAWT, but it took some digging to get to it, and by then I was so exhausted from the TALKING I couldn't "get it up" for Duke and Temple.

The next hero in this series is Puck, who was described as Dwalin-esque... I don't know about you, but squat, bald, bearded men just don't do it for me. I dunno if I'll be reading his story, but I will hop back into the fire to read Anselem's story.

I thought I fell for Thresh but I think I feel even harder for Duke. There is just something about his humor that just makes me giddy inside. I love how it seems that he never takes anything seriously…but he actually is…I think it is just a front to throw you off. He is deadly at his craft and I think that makes him even hotter in my eyes. I also really enjoyed Temple. I liked her sass but I was a little put off with her coldness. But towards the end you see that start to melt away and you really get a good look at her character. What I am FURIOUS about, is how it ended. TOTALLY CLIFFHANGER!!! And the next book is for Puck but I want resolution for Duke and Temple. I need their full story before moving on to the next character. Ugh….anyway…I have to say, I wasn’t too keen on Anselm but after seeing him loosen up with Temple and Duke….I really want to read more about him.

Alpha One Security – Harris is the first book in this series by Jasinda Wilder and the first book I have read by this author. It is entertaining, thrilling, suspenseful and full of tension. It is a little erotic, sexy, steamy and hot, hot, hot.

Alpha One Security is owned and run by Nick Harris and like is bunch of unlikely misfits they are previous military men and mercenaries with somewhat hearts. They can be hard as stone but big teddy bears when they want to be. They don’t love or so they say but they meet his match when it comes to the bedroom.

When things get tough so do these alpha men who made me laugh with their wit and banter, sigh with their tender hearts and heart in throat when they get into the action and swoon when it gets sexy.

Okay, the lead character's name is Duke Silver, and if you don't get the Parks and Rec reference congrats because it took me a while to stop seeing Ron Swanson.
That being said this book was good, but got a teensy teensy bit repetitive... "you only get lucky so many times."
I really enjoyed this book and particularly our female lead who didn't fall naturally into the story as many of our other heroines in this series did. I will say that Jasinda did a wonderful job covering up a small predictable piece with a larger plot twist.

p.s. if you hate cliff hangers wait until Puck's book comes out... Many of these books have cliff hangers, but none as stressful as this one.

Duke is just too sweet, "he laughed. “Actually, neither would I.” The laughter turned…lascivious. “I mean, I’d collect your panties, if you wore any.” Duke had patience when it came to his woman:
“This?”
“No, honey, that’s an assault rifle.”
“So that’s not it?”
“Nope. Try again. Big. Black. Red shells on one side.”
I loved this book, and I'm eager forthe nexr book.

Holy shit on a stick..............that Duke is very very talented! This book was fitted with the right amount of sex, gore, action, adventure, seriousness and honesty. Although Temple could be annoying, she and Duke are perfect for one another. Exceptional

Oh man, this has to be the hottest, steamiest read I've probably ever read, and I'm not complaining 🔥🔥🔥🔥

The overall storyline of Duke and Temple is pretty good, we meet them both as they got kidnapped together, Duke is part of a military intelligence team, and his job is to provide security to people and to keep them alive and protect them. He's the biggest, most swoon worthy alpha male, who is pretty much a complete bad ass with a smart mouth. At times, he doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut, but he is dreamy, strong, and a protector. He wakes up with Temple in the basement after being captured, and is on the run from Cain, a bad dude who he and his team is trying to bring down. He and Temple ultimately hit it of and there is major steam and seduction from the start of their 'friendship'. Temple was born into the rich and wealthy lifestyle and both of her parents are famous, so she and Duke live very different lives. I did like her character the more I read the book, but she ultimately was scared to ever have a relationship with anyone or see any man more than once because she had bad past boyfriend drama where they hurt her and sold a sex tape of her.. like, girl, everyone has bad past experiences with ex-boyfriends.
BUT, if you want to read a steamy, sexy, sizzling story with chemistry between two characters, this is certainly the book to read. After Duke and Temple confide in each other and get to know each other a little better and are safe from Cain (for now), they turn up the heat even more (which I didn't think was even possible🔥). I love them together HOWEVER, the author decided to throw a huge cliffhanger in there just to spoil our good vibes from Duke and Temple.. HOW RUDE. If we don't get a part two of their story, or a continuation of it in the 4th book, Puck, I will be very upset.

****SPOILERS! Sort of, unless you already read Book 2 Thresh****
Ummm...this book is the same as book #2 Thresh. Just different names and locations. Same cocky alpha attitude. Same defiant female that tries to act tough but is really just a innocent and naive damsel in distress. Same nauseous reactions in a building's stairwell when they learn and witness there love interest killing people. Same infatuation with boobs. I get they intertwine the books in this series but at least change it up a little bit. Other than just names and locations.

I Kept reading......
Are you for real?? Another scorned damsel in distressed over an ex taking her virginity and made a sex tape of them and shared it for money. WTF?

Shocker....another life risking out gunned and out manned ambush of Cain's thugs with AR15's. didn't see that coming.

Do they not realize that his stash house will have their DNA and fingerprints all over it when the authorities collect evidence from the crime scene?

I skipped book 1 Harris, because of its low rating and it didn't indicate that they should be read in order anywhere. Is book 1 lacking just as much originality as Book 2 and 3?

Not sure if I want to go forward with reading the rest of this series. Why would any publisher be on bored with an author writing a book that is basically a carbon copy of another book in the series? Its almost laughable about how similar book 2 and 3 are.

Temple and Duke wake up after meeting at a bar tied, blindfolded, and kidnapped. Duke being the giant commando that he is, goes Rambo on their captors and gets Temple out. Temple is a rich and famous reality t.v. star so she has to rely on Duke to get them to safety. On the run, they just can’t seem to shake the seemingly endless amount of bad guys hunting them.

Warning! This book ends with a cliffhanger.

The plot was fantastic, I really enjoyed all of the crazy commando action star worthy battles between Duke and the bad guys. A little far fetched? Sure. But fun nonetheless. At first I didn’t really care for Temple all that much, but as you learn more about her, her emotional detachment is definitely warranted. As Temple states repeatedly in the book Duke really does sort of talk and act like a cheesy eighties action hero, but it’s sort of charming. My only gripe with this book was the sex scenes. They were riddled with so much inner monologue, and sort of dragged on to the point of being boring. Never thought I would say that about a sex scene but a few times I was just ready for it to be over. Weird I know. Other than that I enjoyed this book. I normally don’t like cliffhangers but in this case it was done in a way that made me excited to read the next one, without feeling cheated. I sort of started this series backwards but I will definitely be reading the first two books in the series.

For the most part of this book it was slow and I almost DNF (note how long it took me to read this because I found more interesting reads in between) but I wanted to find out what happens. It started off well with Duke being kidnapped along with Temple Kennedy, reality TV star and socialite. Then it was all the boring make out chapters and internal monologue in between and how they kept getting found everywhere they went by Cain’s goons. Just as it was getting interesting in the last couple of chapters it ended... which now makes me feel like I got half a book.

I think this will be the last of this series for me as much as I would like to find out what happens, I worry it follow the same pattern as all the previous books with the exception of Harris’ book and have a majority of chapters on boring, make out sex scenes and long drawn out internal monologue.

Duke

3.25 stars

After the last book, this didn't have near the issues with the timeline. However, I still struggled with the plausibility of the story. It seemed over the top at times. I will give it to the author though, that she has created a story that has my interest piqued and me wanting to see it resolved. This book ends on a cliffhanger but somehow know that it will all come out fine in the end because they guys can all keep taking names when they fight, kill, or battle even with broken bones showing and bullet holes... This saddens me as I can see the potential of the story if it was to be fleshed out more.

I read this as part of the Alpha One Security 1-3 boxset.

Temple Kennedy didnt want to trust men after her boyfriend demeaning her at a reality show. She was actually the main target of Cain and there’s tracker inside her body .That was the reason each and everytime they changed locations and freshly fucked, attackers came onto them. Duke got his earlobe shot. Eww. At the end, Cain had kidnapped all the girlfriends of Harris, Thresh and Duke plus a girl named Kyrie. He wanted to auction them off. So now the three of them gonna go rescue their girl. And Puck might be on the plane with the girls.

Pure Sexy Hot Action

I've read each book in this series back to back and each one is hotter than the last! The men are hot tough sexy alpha through and through. The women they protect and love are tough, smart and beautiful.
I love this series but wish it was a less money since I've been devouring each book in only a couple of days! I hope that Jasinda Wilder has more on these men & women and the rest of the team. (Like maybe a novella to touch base in between their jobs. Hint hint)

Someone help me out here: Temple is uber-famous but no one (apparently) notices she is missing? Or, at the very least, no one in the the A1S crew seems to consider the possibility that others will notice her missing? I know the action takes place over a small time period, but still. It all seems very insular....

Duke Silver! My man, yes! Loved him all the way! There was a lot of action in this one, shootouts and being on the run! And just enough romance to keep you sucked in but not at all enough! And then it leaves us with a cliffhanger....like come on!!!!

Why is this series so short?! Make the books longer, I need more!

Cliffhanger

HATE cliffhangers. This book was fine and may have gotten a 4 but the cliffhanger ruins it. I need each story in a series to end within the book. This one did not. If it doesn't it should say so at beginning and in the synopsis. This one did not at least not that I saw. Sorry to author but I likely wouldn't have read it if I'd known.

Action, Sex, never knowing what is going to happen, love it love the thrill that Jasinda does in her books. Big strong men that do not think about a relationship. Their main purposed is kill or be killed and survive.

This book moves so fast. The action is really well placed and of course the "action" btw our mains is hot as hell. Wilder can write a good romance novel, that much is for sure. Worried this might lag toward the end but then a big twist and BAM, I was reaching for the next book.

Duke

Duke and Temple were abducted together and running from bad men.
There was attraction off the charts but each only wanted sex nothing lasting, we will see. This is one action packed book that just continues so on to Puck's book to keep things going and how it all works out.

Really enjoying the Alpha One series. The characters are fun and complicated and messy and they grow and change for the better. The situations are outlandish but that is what makes them fun. Duke and Temple are fun and made this book really enjoyable.
