This is a tale of love found and love lost.
About finding peace. About finding oneself. About finding reason.
Tee Smith lives in a small town in country Western Australia. Her four children are all grown and she recently became a proud grandma. Her novels are primarily romantic suspense. She reads almost everything, but loves nothing more than a good psycho-thriller.
Tee Smith has proven to be a brilliant writer. A writer who is after my tears.
I have loved Trick from the beginning, and knowing what type of tricky author Tee Smith is, I figured she would find someway to hurt both me and Trick. What I did not expect was what actually happened. (No spoilers)
Ginger is so sweet and she does not deserve the hand she was dealt.
Trick and Ginger are perfect for each other. They heal each other, they get each other, they love each other, even if it seems that they hurt each other more than anything.
Trick is such a gentle sweet soul, he had a rough time in life and all I wanted was for him to love someone who deserved him.
Ginger more than deserved his love, even when she pissed me off.
I was expecting to feel for Trick and Ginger, Tee warned me that I would probably not like where this book was going, and she was right. I should have listened better.
Tears came and went as I read Finding Reason, as it got closer to the end I was afraid that another twist was going to come that way. Thankfully I was wrong. I was so glad that Finding Reason had the perfect ending. I couldn't have imagined any other ending for this book.
Tee Smith has once again blown me away with her writing. Sweet and innocent, yet with enough reality thrown in that we can't possibly look away. You just never know what you're going to get when you pick up one of Tee's books.
Trust me when I say that this is an author you are going to want to read.
I’ve been eager for Patrick’s story ever since “meeting” him in Collecting Scars. I suspected it would be unique and powerful, and I’m happy to report that I was right!
Still hurting after Maddie’s rejection, Patrick Harper tries to save face by inviting a coworker – Ginger, a dancer at Polly’s Dollhouse – to pose as his new girlfriend at a picnic. Ginger is a runaway with a drug addiction who is used to being used in her line of work. When she realizes Patrick isn’t simply using her for his own personal gains, she realizes her life isn’t as great as she originally thought. Being ruled by grains of white powder is now more shameful and embarrassing than ever. Her love for Patrick helps her find a reason to consider getting help.
After Patrick’s ex-fiancée shows up out of the blue with a baby that is allegedly his, he needs loyalty and stability in the worst way. He thinks he has it with Ginger, but finds out otherwise the hard way when he staves off an attacker and she flees the scene and turns into a ghost. Without her testimony to back up his claims of self-defense, Patrick must rely on facts and evidence to clear him of wrongdoing. Thanks to a good lawyer and clever legal work, he regains his freedom and tries his best to move on from the ordeal. He even acknowledges his child and tries to be a good father.
Patrick’s life seems to be back on track and moving in the right direction until he sees the one person who could once again turn it upside down. It’s up to him to decide whether the risk is worth the possible reward.
As with the other books in this series, I rode an emotional roller coaster. I loved the air of suspense Tee Smith wove into the story line. It kept me interested and turning pages to find out Patrick’s fate. I’m sad to see this series come to an end, but look forward to more books in the future from this author. She has a real talent for creating unique characters with interesting backgrounds. I can’t wait to see what she creates next.
Title: Finding Reason Author: Tee Smith Rating: 5 Stars Synopsis: Patrick 'Trick' Harper hasn't had very good luck with the ladies. after finding his fiancé cheating on him he decides to move on with his life. Then he meets Maddie and thinks that maybe she's supposed to be the one...but that doesn't work out either. He's just about ready to give up on the fairer sex as whole when he meet Ginger. Ginger is a "dancer" at Polly's dollhouse the "gentleman's club" that Trick tends bar in. She's beautiful and carefree and so incredibly full of life...she's also addicted to heroin. Things are bound to get messy as these two embark on a journey towards finding reason. Review: Another sweeter than sweet love story from Tee Smith. Following the events of her last two novels Collecting Scars, and Chasing Dragonflies, I highly anticipated Trick's story being somewhat epic and I have to say I was not disappointed. And though this book like the previous two was chalk full of lovey-dovey swoon moments, my favorite things about Finding Reason were the messy parts. Tee dove into the gritty details in a way that we haven't really experienced from her in the past and she did it with the same naturally smooth grace that I have come to expect from her writing style......
Such a good book. I didn't like Patrick at first but I came to love him in the end. Tee tells the story of two people with life struggles that end up finding their way back to each other.
** Review by Kylie from Bloggers From Down Under **
What an absolutely mesmerising story. My mere words cannot do this book justice, but I'll give it my best shot.
Ginger and Patrick fall in love in the most unusual of circumstances. She is a (secretly) heroine using dancer/prostitute. He just happens to tend the bar at the establishment she works at.
Their love doesn't come easy, as one can imagine it has it's fair share of ups and downs.
But it all comes to a grinding halt one night when Patrick tries to save ginger. The end result - Ginger runs and Patrick ends up in prison facing possible murder charges.
Fast forward 8 months. Patrick is a free man and he is about to cross paths with the one person he can't forget. Can he ever forgive her for running out on him when he needed her most?
This book will hold you spellbound until the very end, a definite page turner. I cannot recoomend this book highly enough. A must read.
Finding Reason will this is another aptly named book by Tee Smith. Finding Reason is Trick and Gingers story for this series. It is about drugs, murder, jail, love and most of all reasons. We get to see the original gang moving forward with their lives. Asha and Xavier, Maddie and Dex and we see the trials that Trick and Ginger go through. You could say that the way the book ends that if the fates have decided that you are to walk a certain path you will walk it one way or another. Again if I start talking about this book I will give the whole thing away as I won't want to stop about it. Please buy the first two books in this series as well as this one and enjoy a great Aussie read. Would I recommend this book/ series YES
