Drew Perry lives in Greensboro, NC, with his wife, a dog, and two cats, and, somehow, two boys. His first book, THIS IS JUST EXACTLY LIKE YOU, was a finalist for the Flaherty-Dunnan First Novel Prize from the Center for Fiction, and was an Atlanta Journal Constitution best-of-the-year pick. A new novel, KIDS THESE DAYS, is due out January 2014. More info here: www.drewperry.net .
This is a delightful, easy to read, makes-you-smile compilation of short columns from Our State magazine (North Carolina) by author Drew Perry. If it appealed to me, never having been a father, it would surely be loved by those who have raised sons, witnessed their many escapades, participated in those escapades, and in this case instigated those escapades as Mr. Perry has done and chronicled. Mothers would love it too, especially those who shake their head at the wonderful, wandering, and whimsical things "the boys" find as fun. This is a book for the explorer in all of us. This is a book for the child in all of us, and that explains why I could relate to it - - there's still a child inside and these stories touched that part of me.
