Guided Heart: Morocco

Rate this book
Coming out of an unhealthy relationship, New Yorker Joe Cooper finds himself on a private tour of exotic Morocco as a parting gift from his ex-lover. Though not quite prepared, Joe still ventures on by himself with his holiday, paired with an eye-catching local man named Sam as his guide, who appears to be as straight and conservative as possible. Despite being charmed by his guide’s enthusiasm and swarthy good looks, Joe tries to focus on the beautiful country around him, which is filled with incredible history and a friendly, vibrant culture.

The more time they spend together, the more Joe and Sam notice each other. Whether trekking among Roman ruins or through scenic valleys and half-lit alleys of colorful old markets, each place suggests and entices romantic opportunity. But such encounters are not allowed in this culture. The situation remains restrained, until Joe and Sam, becoming fast friends, find themselves alone in a tented camp in the Sahara.

Love can develop in all situations, regardless of, and even in spite of, the circumstances. Come meet Joe and Sam and follow their adventures across Morocco and find out if they can make their love last longer than Joe’s vacation, and overcome the distance of an ocean and beliefs which may keep them apart.

And again a sweet, touching and awesome story by P.J. Nevada.
I love it, it's sweet with a bit of heartache *sigh* but two amazing guys and an amazing surrounding!
Jonathan is really a sweet seducer and Sameer is just an adorable shy fella, who crawls out of his shell rather fast when he meets Jonathan. The chemistry betwween these two and the way their trust in another and their love to one another grows, it's heartwarming and I couldn't get enough of it. But as alsways there have to be some minor ir mountain size big problems in their way to a HEA. As I said: heartache! *sighs once more*
But all in all again a great Job well done by the author, another sweet and sexy tale. And once again one can almost see the Beauty of the country just while reading "Guided HEart: Morocco", there is always a little longing within the texts and the love for this country. I like that a lot, it kind of strengthens the story, too, and it feels more realistic.
I really can recommend this sweet story!

Our lead character’s boyfriend is not someone I’d call a keeper: “Watch yourself, Joe. I am the only source of income for you, not to mention the expensive gifts I have given you. I own you, remember that.” Joe’s escape from a toxic relationship begins with this airport announcement “New York to Casablanca, flight 100, now boarding first class and business class please, at gate 9”.

Joe’s handsome Moroccan tour guide introduces himself as Sam, but his real name Sameer Sabah ibn Walid. Sameer struggles to comprehend his attraction to Joe, conflicted by what he’s been taught is right and what he now feels deep inside his soul.
“Sameer grabbed me by the shoulders before beginning to speak. ‘This is a Moroccan goodbye between good friends.’ He kissed me quickly on each cheek. ‘It’s like a wish for a safe journey.’ ”

Sameer is intensely shy and modest when he is with Joe until circumstances overcome his efforts to control his true feelings.
“About to take a step back, Sameer grabbed me by the shoulders and pulled me into him, kissing me urgently, full on the lips. His mouth was warm and sweet, his lips plump and soft. I felt my face melt into his. I was about to let my lips part, inviting him in, but he pulled back, his face questioning, his eyes wide, revealing his uncertainly.”

Joe knows he should avoid a rebound relationship, yet finds himself falling in love in a foreign land:
“Thousands of twinkling stars could be seen set into the dark night sky. A warm breeze came through every now and then, making the canvas of the tents flap. I scrutinized Sameer, apparently lost in thought. I studied him carefully. His wavy hair was dark as coal in the night, while the stubble on his cheeks and chin were barely revealed by the light of the flickering flames. He took my breath away. I couldn’t remember when he had changed into the dark brown, long sleeve baseball shirt, his muscular arms and shoulders revealed by the snugness of the fabric. The profile of his face was equally impressive as he stared into the fire.

I stood up, holding out my hand for Sameer to take, and once he did, I pulled him up. I looked around us at our surroundings. ‘I shall remember this place and this moment for the rest of my life, until my dying day.’ ”

Will Moroccan cultural morays and legal obstacles thwart the emerging love that Joe and Sameer begin to feel for each other? The answer to that question is revealed as chapters unfold – note that this book is not recommended reading for those offended by descriptions of passionate gay sexual activity.

Guided Heart: Morocco was a delight to read. I loved the original storyline of how one of the main characters, Jonathan Cooper, found himself on a trip to Morocco, won by his abusive ex-lover and given to him to enjoy alone. What Jonathan didn't expect was to fall for his tour guide, Sam, especially in a country that is not liberal in such relationships. I loved how respectful Jonathan was of Sam's culture, even though he was dying to explore more than the Sahara Desert.
It was fun watching them navigate through their new-found attraction, and eventually, love for one another. At the same time, P.J. Nevada did an outstanding job with his description of the places they visited and lodged, the scenery surrounding them, along with the ambiance, sights, and smells of an exotic land.
I also loved how Jonathan fought to not end their love. What a great HEA!! I would definitely read this one again. Brilliant job by author P.J. Nevada. Five mint-tea stars for me!

Another good story for the series. The start was a little shaky but it gets better after a few chapters. There where scenes at the start were I found it hard to believe to be in Sam's situation. Sam's innocence is about to get educated by Joe but he gets bold and makes the first move. Exploring around Morocco with them was delightful with descriptions. The beautiful sexy scenes and the ending of this is gorgeous as always in this series.
When Joe 28 yrs is given a trip to Morocco from an auction as a parting gift from his now ex he starts a new adventure. Met at the airport by Sameer aka Sam his driver and tour guide for 8 days.. the two would explore much more than the landscape.
