Grace Abrahams helps ghosts who can’t move on until their problems have been solved. The ghosts she meets are attached to items found at storage locker auctions.
The day that Grace feared finally arrives; the day when she meets a ghost she knows. The ghost is Roz, a postwoman She had been delivering post to Grace’s shop for years, and even knew Grace’s late parents. Once Roz gets over the shock of being dead, she tells Grace what her unfinished business is. Roz delivered post to an old lady called Olive, and Olive is in trouble and needs urgent help. Grace doesn’t hesitate to help and is soon deep into her investigation. Things take an unexpected twist when an attempted murder is revealed. The would-be murderer won’t rest until they claim their victim.
I'm an avid fan of mystery stories. I started reading Agatha Christie novels at an early age. My favourite fiction detective is Poirot, I love his fussy ways and his attention to small details. I love the TV series, 'Murder She Wrote' and have watched every episode. I like working out who the killer is, and what the clues are.
I live near Leeds, Yorkshire, which is in the north of England. My two daughters live with me and they are understanding about my passion for mystery shows! I've now discovered 'Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries'.
I've been wanting to write my own mystery stories for years - and now I finally have.
The Last Post (Storage Ghost Mysteries Book 9) by Gillian Larkin is a more serious one for Grace because her brother is in danger. Also, someone she has known for years passes on and comes to her for help as a ghost. Grace has to figure out the mystery before her brother dies. A wonderfully crafted story. Love these ghost mysteries and the suspense, humor, and ghosts!
I really liked this one—it had some surprising twists, and I loved that Frankie played a bigger role, even though it was sad to see him sick and basically targeted this time around. Roz was a very likable character, though something about her felt a bit off to me, so maybe the ending wasn’t as shocking as it could have been.
One thing I didn’t enjoy was seeing just how easily Grace trusts ghosts, always assuming they’d never lie; that frustrated me throughout the book. Still, this might be one of my favorite installments in the series, but I have one more to read before I can say for sure!
This very short storage ghost mystery is the 9th of the series and probably one of the best! For the first time Grace is faced with a ghost she knows from her everyday life. It happens to be the postwoman who delivers mail to the shop, a lovely gal named Roz. Grace didn't even know her brother had gone to a storage auction when Roz turns up as a ghost in the shop. The van has not been unloaded because Frankie came home sick with food poisoning and has lost the van keys. Obviously he brought something into the shop with him however, because that's the only way Roz can be there.
Grace hears Roz's story of concern about a lady on her postal route who is being taken advantage of by her son. Wanting to help, Grace begins investigating. However all is not as it appears. This is one mystery that packs a few big surprises and unexpected turns.
The good thing about this series is they do not have to be read in order. So if you haven't tried one, now would be the perfect time to pick this bargain up and start reading. Gillian won't let you down with this mystery!
I did not like it. I added an extra star for the two things I did appreciate: no editing errors, which is a rarity these days, and the unexpected twist at the end. Otherwise, the whole story read like a high schooler had written it. Characters were flat and uninteresting, no atmosphere, no colourful setting, lots of telling instead of showing (that's distracting), strange choices of words every so often that didn't fit in the context/behaviour of the characters... The plot was neatly woven, but I was never gripped by it. I know this was a short story, but some authors still manage to stir up something in me with barely a few lines. This didn't. I'm glad it appeals to others though, because we all have our opinions, and that's what makes the world go round!
I have read 7 of the storage ghost mysteries and this one was by far the best. It was fun a really quick read but really worth the read. I can't wait to read the 8th book now. I'm really looking forward to it.
Kindle Unlimited but depending on book got them that way, as freebie, or bought them. Some were sets Storage Ghost Mysteries - The Box Set 1-5 as set 6-9 as Storage Ghost Mysteries - Box Set 2 and all should be available separately.

A death and a mystery that are far too close to home for Grace. A galloping pace and quite shocking, this is one of my favorite Storage Ghost stories. It is short but jam-packed with intrigue.
If you are a regular reader of these cozy shorts (a 'Larkin Lover' if you will ☺) I don't want to spoil any of the story for you...
I will say that trust is always a big thing, and this is tested big time! Very well thought out, and the reader feels fully involved as if they are going through the same reactions with Grace.
I love this series. Grace can see ghosts since a car accident that killed her parents. With the help of the ghost in the shop she assists them to cross over after helping them figure out why they died. This ghost is the woman who delivers the mail so Grace is determined to find out what happened and it comes a little close to home when the ghost starts to hurt her brother.
