Geek-girl Ilsa Morgenstern has had enough heartbreak to last a lifetime, so she builds Dallas—a smart, sexy male robot—to keep her satisfied without requiring any pesky emotions. She’s not expecting Hal, her computer genius ex-boyfriend, to break into her home in an attempt to steal her family’s tech secrets. And she’s certainly not expecting that Dallas will want Hal and Ilsa to increase his knowledge of human sexuality by having sex with him—both separately and together.
As the robot/human encounters get closer—and even hotter—Ilsa’s feelings for Hal threaten to resurface. She’s determined to avoid heartbreak again, but sometimes a girl has to accept that the man—er, robot—you think you want is only seventy-four percent of the man you need.
This book contains male-male action, a male-female-male threesome and a robot who learned his speech patterns from watching internet porn. Yeah, baby.
100% of the profits of The Body Electric series will be donated to the ACLU.
this is the sequel to love machine, which I read and reviewed last December.
the story is very similar to the last one except this time it is her sister who buoys a set robot and experiments with it. ignoring the sea story line this book does investigate some interesting theoretical ideas about freedom of thought and ownership of robots, such as just because someone wants a robot to have free speech and thought do they really want them to learn different things and go their own way the story is a nice easy read with some interesting ideas.
Wow! Extreme erotica warning! This book is hot, approach with caution. Do not read this book unless you are wearing fire proof knickers and don’t mind reading graphic sex scenes. This is the second book in the Body Electric Series about the creation of a series of Robots, originally designed and created to serve a particular human family but who are slowly evolving into their own personalities. I had read and enjoyed the first one but think I loved this one a little more as the interaction between the characters felt a little more detailed to me. It all felt a bit more human. It is a short book, only about 12 chapters so easily read in a day, perfect for a bit of light relief in between other reads, or if on holiday. I can’t wait for the next one in the series.
Sexy, funny and super steamy. What else can you expect from Electra Shepherd in this the second installment of the Body Electric series. I loved the first book and was very happy to read this the second book when it was send my way. I can't wait for the next one...
This is the second in the series and after reading the first one I was keen to get stuck into this one.
I did feel that the first in the series would have been better as a longer story as I would have liked to see the relationship develop between the two main characters, and I have to say it's the same for me with this one. It's by no means a critiscism if anything it's because I want to read a longer version of the book, they really are unique!!
I cannot wait to read the next one, a solid 4 stars.
Who's more human a robotic girl or an android who's learned to feel?
Ilsa decides that she wants a partner, but doesn't want to deal with all the emotions of a real man, so she builds Dallas. Little does she expect her ex boyfriend to break in so he can learn about Blue. Hal learns way more than that and Ilsa learns that maybe she wants the emotions after all.
It was surprisingly adorable and I enjoyed it very much, more than I expected actually. It's a step forward from the 1st book and now all I want to do is read the 3rd.
The dynamic between Hal and Ils is great. I liked that this series isn’t just love between humans and robots. It feels more organic this way and less cut and paste. Still loved Book 1 more though.
Ilsa Morgenstern decides to build her own sex toy and her ex-boyfriend Hal finds out.
This was just ok for me. Ilsa confused me, she wanted to build a robot to have sex with but was more because her sister fell in love with one of the house robots and she kinda wanted the same thing. In steps Hal, the ex, who is trying to find out what is going on in the Morgenstern household and Ilsa is forced to face her feelings. I think what kept throwing me was Ilsa, she kept annoying the hell out of me just because she couldn't sit down and talk with Hal while thinking about how much she loved him; drove me nuts. The sex scenes were definitely hot but couldn't keep me from enjoying the characters.
Weird story. lol.. my favorite line was, "..neither Blue nor Dallas seemed the slightest bit embarrassed. They’d been discussing their dicks within fifteen minutes of meeting."
But I didn't really like Dallas's personality. And I hated the threesome thing. eugh. She says she's madly in love with Hal, then how could she screw another... in front of him? I couldn't lol. Not even if it's just a robot guy.
It was a nice surprise but in the end I really liked it.
I am not into endings with only two out of the three characters. I did not expect to get this ending with this story. But if I analyze how I feel about the story, I liked it. (...)
This is the second book in the series and you are definitely going to want to read them in order to fully appreciate this series. As with the first in the series I read this one sitting as I couldn't put it down. I actually read it while I was on the treadmill and was disappointed when my fitbit announced I'd done my 10k steps, so I had to finish reading it then and there. There is no two ways about it, this is a bizarre subject, and really the whole story shouldn't work, but for some reason it does! Witty and very steamy, its the kind of book you can't put down and then ask yourself what on earth did I just read! I for one can't wait for the next in this series to come out. I just hope Electra Shepherd can write real fast!!!
Book Review of Man or Machine - by Electra Shepherd I quickly engaged with the storyline of the book and enjoyed discovering how the main characters, both Lisa and Dallas, developed. Science fiction, with a particular slant towards robotics is a current popular trend and this book fits right in. I particularly liked the human element within the storyline and how this builds within Dallas. Although not a classic ‘page turner’ the characters build empathy and I found myself wanting to know how the storyline unfolded My only dislike, was the strong verbal sexual language which I found off putting. If you like high intensity sexual encounters, then this is the book for you. I would rate this 3 stars.
Man or machine by Electra Shepherd. Geek-girl Ilsa Morgenstern has had enough heartbreak to last a lifetime, so she builds Dallas—a smart, sexy male robot—to keep her satisfied without requiring any pesky emotions. This was a really good read. I loved the story and the characters. 5*. Tbc on fb.
