This cookbook seemed a bit too varied for my taste. I was hoping for high rated general recipes. It includes everything from pork to lamb. There were several typos and in one recipe, it said to place in the pressure cooker for six hours! I feel that should have been followed by a disclaimer saying not to cook under pressure but use as the crockpot feature. A couple of the desserts looked worthy of trying such as the fruitless cheesecake.
This book explores some of the multitude of things you can make in your pressure cooker. Unfortunately, many recipes are lacking in details and contrary to the book title, do not seem specific to the Instant Pot brand cooker (unless maybe it was for an older version of IP).
Recipes that say, "Cook on 'regular' pressure for about 25 minutes," make me nervous. There is no ' regular' pressure setting on my Instant Pot. There is low pressure and high. Which one of those is regular? Low? One would assume, but I'd rather not make assumptions with a pressure cooker!
This might be a good read for someone who is trying to get an idea of what their IP can do. It also might work for someone who has done quite a bit of IP cooking and who knows how to interpret some of the more ambiguous language in the recipes. For someone just starting out with IP cooking and who is looking for more detailed instructions, you best leave this one on the shelf for now.
