A string of shocking home invasions . . .

The desperate search for the child who holds the secrets to them all . . .

A series of sixes tattooed on a victim's neck . . .

The countdown continues . . .

Detectives Micki Dare and Zach Harris are back. It's been three months since that night - the night that Micki almost died. Physically, she's healed but the nightmares remain, and she can't shake the feeling that more happened that night than Zach is telling her. But why would her partner lie to her? Micki focuses on putting the past behind her and solving the latest case she and Zach have been assigned to.

A string of brutal home invasions are rocking New Orleans, and the families targeted seemingly have nothing in common. Why were these victims chosen? And why do the victim's children have such startlingly different accounts of the invasions? The deeper Micki and Zach go into the case, the more they realize these are no ordinary crimes and there's something terrifyingly familiar at work. Their worst fear has been realized--the dark force they'd fought has returned, more powerful than ever. Suddenly, those Micki loves most are targeted and she has to decide if she really wants to learn the truth about that night . . .

Terrifying and suspenseful, the new novel from Erica Spindler is a masterclass in thriller storytelling - you won't be able to put it down.

This is the second in the detectives Micki Dare and Zach Harris supernatural crime series set in New Orleans. For me, it worked fine as a standalone because much of what happened in the first book is referred to here and resolved. This is the story of good vs evil, the light bearers vs the dark bearers, although it is fair to say it is not always so clear cut as most people have both forces within them. Micki comes to be more aware of the FBI project of using light bearers like Zach in law enforcement. There are some brutal home invasions occurring in the city that involve lights shone in the eyes of children, devastating vandalism, and some other strange factors. The perpetrators are young, gleeful, and out of control, although efforts are made to not frighten the children.

It is difficult to nail down who the young people are but dark powers appear to be behind it. Tommy provides some insight through his experience of meeting Kyle who tries to induce him to join such a group which Tommy rejects. Angel is living with Micki, but their relationship is rather fraught, as she is hyper sensitive to any attempt to influence her personal life. Angel's insecurities leave her wide open to fall head over heels for the good looking Seth who mysteriously appears in her life. The teenage Angel, with her artistic gifts, feels the world is against her as she obsesses over Seth, and runs away to join him at his art collector Uncle Will's mansion. However, all is not as it seems as she finds herself in unsettling and disturbing circumstances. Micki and Zach try to locate Angel, find abducted children, and close in on the Six-Cubed gang responsible for the home invasions as it becomes clear that a powerful dark bearer has nefarious plans which bring danger to the detectives and Angel.

This is a well plotted and entertaining read with plenty of suspense and tension. It seems all the characters are revealed to have some gifts in the light and dark bearer world, including Micki as she joins Lester Truebell, Eli and Zach at their project. Micki's troubled memories and worries over the previous case where she nearly died are clarified as she comes to be aware of the truth. Whilst Zach and Micki's relationship has romantic feelings, both are laying off getting involved for the moment. I recommend this fast paced thriller to those who enjoy crime, fantasy and suspense as a combination. Many thanks to Little, Brown for an ARC.

I am sorry. I have really tried with this book, having read and enjoyed Erica Spindler in the past. but I honestly just can't connect with this book, no matter how I try. I enjoy supernatural tales, I enjoy police procedurals, I enjoy suspense and thrillers. So I really don't know why this book did not work for me

I didn't realise If You Dare (The Lightkeepers #2) By Erica Splinder was the second book in this series.
It probably would have been better to read book one first despite this "If You Dare" was very easy to interpret and told the back-story of this series splendidly.
Now You could technically read this as a standalone, but my recommendation would be start at the very beginning, it's a very good place to start usually ha ha.
 photo images 3_zps3qrbdz7u.jpg
Now after playing some catch up I quickly fell into the story of dark and light bearers and the age old battle of good versus evil.
 photo Starved-Rock_zpse4w1zaf3.jpg
Erica Spindler has really managed to create a vivid world that was so easy to get absorbed into, immersing myself fully into this other domain.
The book picks up where the previous one leaves us.
we have Our two detectives, Mikki, who has recovered from her injuries but is feeling that a lot is being kept from her, she feels on the outside partially, out in the cold, but not understanding exactly why.
Then there's her partner Zach who is half/ half lighter but is much more in the picture regarding information sharing and has been ordered to keep stum. keeping his partner in the dark is something he struggles with as well as certain feelings towards Mikki he so shouldn't be entertaining.
There's also Angel eighteen and struggling with her independence and Mikki's set boundaries, A Rebellious teenager in love for the first time with the mysterious Seth who comes with a very creepy but rich uncle.
This whole story is a puzzle with the pieces just waiting to be slotted together and everybody has a part to play in the bigger picture.
There are so many interesting and diverse secondary character's in this tale as well as the three main players Mikki, Zach and Angel. I love that we get to crawl inside this trios heads seeing different interpretations of events as they unfolded.
All the characters here were fleshed out well and the story just flowed for me effortlessly, keeping my attention throughout.
I found reading If You Dare an enjoyable experience and I would be happy to recommend it to others, my only advice would be Start at book one first before proceeding to the Finish line makes things a whole lot easier overall.

TRIPLE SIX starts off 3 months after THE FINAL SEVEN. These books need to be read in order.

Three months ago Detectives Micki Dare and Zach Harris were teamed together. Zach is a rookie.. part of an experimental FBI plan. Zach has certain ... abilities.

Micki is still recovering from the night she almost died. She's still having nightmares and she feels that she should remember ... something.. or someone who was there that night. She's sure that Zach is keeping something from her .. but why?

In the meantime, a series of home invasions is keeping them both busy. The families targeted have small children. No one is hurt and nothing is taken. So what is this gang of 5 looking for?

The more Micki and Zach search for answers, they come to realize these are no ordinary crimes...something much, much darker is at work.

Personally, I think book 2 is much better than the first. The characters' personal lives have expanded, answering a lot of questions ....and yet creating more. Micki (Mad Dog) is a by-the-book cop, trying to cope with Zach's special abilities. I love how they play off each other.

The suspense steadily increases until the end of the very last page. 5 stars for the book ... 5 stars for the series.

I would like to thank Erica Spindler for an advance copy of TRIPLE SIX.

I have enjoyed reading Erica Spindler's novels for some time now but if I am completely honest I didn't really connect with the 1st book in this series. I put it down to the different genre of this series which is classed as a 'Supernatural thriller'. With my previous experiences of reading this author I was happy to give the series another chance with the 2nd novel 'Triple Six' and I am so glad I did. I found this book a lot more enjoyable, the characters were more interesting and I felt the plot was better paced.
This 2nd novel features detectives Micki Dare and Zach Harris, it is now three months since Micki almost died, she is still having nightmares and has a feeling that more happened that night than Zach is telling her. Their latest case is a string of brutal home invasions in New Orleans and the families targeted seemingly have nothing in common. There are lots of twists and turns as the case hits too close to home.

I would like to thank Net Galley for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for a honest review.

Ms. Spindler is back doing what she does best - writing suspense! This is the second book in The Lightkeepers series. In all fairness, I have not read the first one yet, so I went into this a little confused but was able to grasp what was going down quickly. This is a wonderful supernatural thriller with a little romance in the background. I would recommend starting with the first one to fully enjoy them.

Some weeks ago did I read my very first Erica Spindler book, The Other Girl, and I absolutely loved it. Then, I read the novella Random Acts: Prequel to the Lightkeepers Series and found it to be OK, not as good as The Other Girl, but good enough for me to be curious enough to want to read this series. So, when I got the chance to read If You Dare did I go for it.

This is book two in The Lightkeepers series, but thanks to Random Acts did I know enough about Micki's background to understand and know her, despite having not read the first book. And, let me tell you this book is fabulous. There is just something about Spindler's way of writing that pulls me in and I really like the characters in this book. I love detective Micki "Mad Dog" Dare, she is a tough cop, but there is something vulnerable over her, she has built walls around her to protect herself from being hurt. And, Zack "Hollywood" Harris is, besides being her psychic partner perhaps the one to break down the walls (if they both survive to do so of course).

I liked the story in this book, however, it did now and then feel a bit predictable., Not in the boring kind of way, more in that was quite easy to see that Angel's (Micki's friend) need for love and acceptance make her an easy prey. And, that is the one thing that I felt just make the book not reach the 5-star that I was tempted to give it for a while when I read the book. I simply would have loved some more surprises. However, one a side note, I fully understood Angel, her situation, I was never annoyed with her decisions throughout the book. She's young and a bit naive.

I like the book, the battle between good and evil. Have I finally found a romantic surprise series that work for me? It could be the paranormal angle that make it work for me, and that Spindler really writes so well that even Micki and Zacks obvious attraction to each other works for me. Me, that usually have a hard time with romance in books. Also, I really, really like Eli, Parker (Lightkeepers), etc. And I'm looking forward to reading the first book to get to know more about the Lightkeeper. Btw, I did order the first book when I was little over halfway through the book. And, I can't wait to get the book!

Any other Erica Spindler books I should buy and read?

4.5 stars

To be fair to the author I should have read the previous book as I did not really enjoy this story and was sure I was missing some background that may have enhanced the way I felt about it. I did not engage with the characters and found Angel to not be very bright and also she seemed to complain constantly. I found myself flicking through the pages and even though I did finish the book it was not my thing, I am sure I am in the minority here as many seemed to have loved it. Thank you to Netgalley , the author and publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, what a great read! This series just keeps getting better. I have to admit I don't know what happens if a half light hooks up with a dark light or if a full light hooks up with half dark, that's just too much to remember. However, what I do know is that this series is so different from anything else that I've read.

It is so entertaining and I find myself really getting into it. I can't tell you how many times I screamed at Angel "are you an idiot or what?" or "no, don't do that". That just tells me that I am so emotionally involved that these characters are real for me and obviously they need my help. And obviously, they are not listening to me. Duh!

Then I finish the book and realize this was Erica Spindler, she doesn't write paranormal stuff - wow, this is blowing me away. Not just the story, the characters, the subplots, the twists, it's the fact it's not a romance novel. She's moved on to another genre and I have to say, she's hitting out of the park. I'm not sure how many books are in this series, but I'm here and I'm to stay. I say keep hammering them out and I'll keep reading and reviewing them.

Great series, entertaining, enjoyable and always leaves with an ending that makes think, ummmm?

I received this galley from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Triple Six is the sequel to The Final Seven which I reviewed last year. I would say you might want to read the first book before this one in order to really have a handle on what is going in the second book. The author does do a good job of catching the reader up, but I still think readers would benefit from having the first book under their belt.

This story takes place about 3 months after the events of the first book. Micki and Zach are working well together and solving cases. However, Micki isn't convinced that Zach has told her everything about the night that she almost died. Now an old threat is back and seems to be wrapped up in the current string of home invasions. I'm not going to talk about the plot too much as there is a lot packed into this and I don't want to give spoilers.

I liked this one sightly more than the first one. I thought Micki and Zach felt more comfortable with each other as partners. The one character that just annoyed me to no end was Angel. She was so whiny and ungrateful here. She is clearly being duped but is too dumb to see it. Then she wonders why Micki wants to keep such a close eye on her. She just seemed too naive for an 18YO who had been in foster care and seen more than the average person. The mystery wasn't too hard to figure out but there were a couple of surprised thrown in. The ending clearly leaves room for a third book. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.

Really enjoyed the book, so glad Erica didn't stop at only one & REALLY hoping there will be more than 2 or 3 or 4...
Likable characters that you can identify with, sharp sense of humor between the nerve wracking / edge of your seat parts - I had a couple of laugh out loud moments, definitely a couple of goosebumps moments & a lot of tense moments.
The book pulls you in & won't spit you back out until you've finished it! Way to go Erica!!
I highly recommend this book, but read the first one in the series first!

Yet another thrilling book from one of my favourite authors, ERICA SPINDLER. The book is the second story in The Lightkeepers series and I was lucky enough to read it prior to the official release.

Put your telephone on silent, ignore the world and curl up by the fire with a story that will grip you from start to finish.

Darkness meets light and good battles evil as this supernatural story continues. Read it and love it then go check out more Erica Spindler novels whilst you wait for the third book in the series.

I picked up this book on a whim, but I’m so glad I did. Combining elements of fantasy, police procedural, and thrillers, Erica Spindler weaves together the different genres and elements of this story into a surprisingly coherent- and gripping- novel.
All three main characters were instantly likeable, and fully rounded personalities: that, and the complex plot, hooked me instantly. I loved the interplay between Zach, the devil-may-care playboy who uses his Half-Light paranormal powers with enthusiasm and abandon, and Mikki, the ‘Mad Dog’ (love the nickname), no nonsense policewoman who will let nothing stand in her way between her and her search of the truth. Both of them have an unresolved romantic spark- which is only hinted at during the novel, and makes for an entertaining will-they-won’t-they vibe- and both of them are also hiding unresolved trauma that the book delves into, though doesn’t fully resolve. Their partnership is great to watch: the way in which they work together, and rely on each other for personal matters as well as the case, is heartwarming to watch.
I also have to say just how much I liked the paranormal element here. The backstory of Light and Dark is fully rounded and integrated into real life in a believable way; the addition of people descended from ‘Lights’, or the people who fight for good, with powers, is fun, though Spindler also addresses issues like child cruelty, abandonment and kidnapping. I like the fact that people descended from ‘Lights’ don’t necessarily have to be good, which definitely raises the tension as Zach, Mikki and Angel fight to find a way to beat the darkness.
Interesting and exciting, If You Dare was an unexpected treat. Not many people can get away with combining the police with paranormal powers, but Erica Spindler pulls it off masterfully, all whilst making it look easy.

Because I love Erica Spindler's books, I picked up this copy of the second one in the Lightkeeper's series. I did not read the first of the Lightkeepers books but didn't have problems picking up on the story. Detective Micki Dare has recovered from being shot because of a man who has the power to heal. Micki's partner Zach Harris has special powers and Micki is about to find out that she has some special gifts too. They are assigned to investigate a string of home invasions.

I'm not too much into books dealing with the supernatural but I think people who like to read about good vs evil forces would enjoy this one. The book is easy to read and I will continue to read Erica Spindler's books except for this series which is clearly not the type of book that I really enjoy.

This is part of a paranormal series with characters that are likable and really come to life. I was hoping for a little more paranormal theme and by the end of the book I felt that it had more of a "secret experiment that had gone sideways" feel to it. However the mystery/thriller feel with a romantic angle is there in spades. I believe that Erica Spindler should decide which genre these books are going to take and stick more to it. Good stories...good plots...great characters... but too much an across the board feel overall.

The first book in this series, The Final Seven, was a hard one for me and I really thought I wouldn't read another book in this series. However, when it comes to Erica Spindler I just can't NOT read her books. Triple Six was a lot better book for me. It was still about light and dark forces but it told the story a lot better. After reading this second book I am positive I will move on to book three.

I received an ARC for an honest review. I loved Triple Six. Erica Spindler has done it again. She has written another best seller. This book has it all. Love and Hate, Good and Evil, and Light and Darkness. I loved the romance that she inserted into this book. Triple Six starts off several months after the conclusion of The Final Seven. Micki Dare has recovered from her injuries. She and Zach need to come to terms with the kiss they shared that dark night. Was it all part of the undercover assignment or was it real? The new case for Micki and Zach involves home invasions. No one is harmed during these invasions, but there is destruction of the family's belongings. A light is shone in the eyes of the children in these home invasions, the Dark Bearer is looking for "The Chosen One". During the home invasions a little boy, Bear, stays with the children while darkness unleashes fury on the family's possessions. While Micki and Zach are off meeting with the families involved in these home invasions, Angel becomes involved with a new boyfriend, Seth. Little does Angel know that there meeting was not happenstance, but planned by the Dark Bearer. Angel starts to change and eventually runs away with Seth. Will it be too late for Angel, when she discovers the real Seth? Eli, another Lightkeeper working with Parker and Professor Truebell becomes more involved in LAM in this book. He is the Lightkeeper that returned Zander home and helped Micki after she was shot. Just wondering if a love triangle is in the making for Micki, Zach and Eli. The book is amazing. Paranormal is not my favorite genre, but I love The Lightkeepers Series. Erica introduces just enough romance, action and intrigue to make it a great read. The book keeps you on the edge of your seat. Knowing that the Dark Bearer was involved in the home invasions, and they were not making any mistakes, I kept wondering how Micki and Zach were going to solve this case. The ending of the book was bittersweet and I totally did not expect it. Cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

I was given a free copy for an honest review.

Erica Spindler is one of my favorite authors in the world. And Triple Six is an exact reason why.

This book picks up where our last one left of. Once you read the first paragraph, in true Spindler fashion, you are hooked and can’t put the book down until the last period.

This novel is a little bit different from her previous work, but it is a continuation of the first book in The Lightkeepers series and they must be read in order.

In my true reviewer fashion, I will not reveal anything major, but I will mention how this book has the usual romance that Erica writes so well, while the story moves around with a pace that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

There is mystery, romance, danger and a bit of good and evil as you root for the heroes to solve the case.

If you are looking for a series to dive into and are open to new and fresh story, pick this one up folks. It’s a total winner and it will make you a Spindler fan for life.

100% guarantee.

UNTIL NEXT TIME DEARIES,

XOXO

Once again, Erica Spindler has completely outdone herself. This book was definitely a page turner and the climax of the story had me sitting on the edge of my seat. The characters are very well developed, the settings are realistic, and the relationships between all the characters are ones you can relate to, giving it a personal touch.
This is the second book in the Lightkeeper's series, so they must be read in order or else the reader may not enjoy them as much. The character's history is important to know so skipping the first book would definitely cause confusion.
Erica Spindler has written some phenomenal stories, but I can honestly say that this series is definitely my favorite so far. I'm very happy she decided to take a step in the supernatural route and try something new. Her writing continues to shine through the Suspense aspect, but with the Supernatural twist added in, it takes you to a whole new level of her writing.
Once again, thank you Erica for continuing to provide quality books for our enjoyment and I can't wait for the third book of the series!!

Let me start by saying that I just love Erica Spindler both as a person and as an author. I was given an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. "Loved It", this is the second book in a new series "The Lightkeepers" and it would be best if they were read in order. I think that the series is just getting better with each new installment. The book is a wonderful blend of the supernatural and suspense, you feel totally invested in the characters and find yourself both laughing and yelling at the wonderful people Ms Spindler has created. In the past I usually have avoided supernatural books as a rule, now I am a new convert. Going back into the world of Micki & Zach is like visiting old friends and wish there was less time between books. Please give these these books a read and I do not think that you will regret it. I promise that you will have a very hard time putting these books down. Thank you, Erica for another wonderful book.

A rollercoaster sequel you expect from a spindler! (Spoilers!!)

The book starts three months after the end of the final seven. Micki 'mad dog' dare is still reeling from the events of that night, still looking for answers to why she lived. Zack 'hollywood' Harris is also reeling from his own truths about his abilities and his employer at the FBI, Parker. Both sent on an assignment dealing with home invasions. The children seem to hold the key- a bear. Finally realising the presence of a dark bearer in the form of a fiery snake both embark to stop this powerful force and help those seduced by it along the way. This book starts full throttle and continues to be action packed to a bittersweet ending that leaves you wanting more. I cannot wait for the next installment. I was given this book free to give a honest and unbiased review.

Erica has done it again, captured our attention and left us wanting more. The second edition of the Light Keepers series is suspenseful and at times terrifying. The intensity of the characters keep you turning each page, until the very last. The hunger your mind feels wanting to continue tells myself part 3 will be even better. I was given a ARC for an honest opinion, I love this book as much as all the others written by Erica. Erica does not disappoint the vivid mind of her followers. It you want a edge of your set good read pick up a copy of Triple Six, the suspense of each page will keep you wanting more. The intensity of the characters make you feel like your in the book with them, makes you want to scream out to warn them. You will not be disappointed with this book or any book written by Erica Spindler!

I received an free ARC for a honest review. Erica Spindler has done it again. This is the second book in her light keeper series and it would be wise to read them in order as the timeline is only months apart from each other. This book as with the previous one, made me enjoy a different type of genre which is that being supernatural. I for one am I not a fan at all of the supernatural genre but whatever Erica has done, be it her easy flow, or her perfect described characters and scenery, she has definitely made me a fan. So if you are the type that loves reading especially books that keep you reading well into the night and at the edge of your seat wondering what's going to happen next, I strongly recommend Triple Six or any of Erica Spindler's many other books. 2 thumbs up from me!

WOW WOW WOW, another great one from Erica Spindler, I haven't read one of Erica's books to date that wasn't great, and this one is no exception! I still love the dynamica between the 2 main characters, Can't wait for the spark to go over to flames...
Erica makes you fall in love with all her characters even the evil ones! I like that she dipped her foot into the supernatural pond, and shes clearly making a success of this series as well. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone, even if you don't like to read supernatural fiction, you will love this series, there is just enough supernatural to make you wonder if you have a little lightkeeper within yourself...

Can't wait for number 3! Please Erica take Roxy and go write the 3rd one asap pretty please!

WOWOWOW!!! I wish there were more than 5 stars to give!! As much as I love every single book Erica Spindler writes, they just keep getting better, and this may just be my favorite - so far!! The follow up to The Final Seven, Micki and Zach's partnership just keeps getting stronger - they have an incredible close rate as detectives for NOPD. But the evil is back - and possibly even worse. It's looking for the perfect child - to take and corrupt. Micki and Zach are in a race against time and evil to save the victims, Angel, and themselves. You will believe that evil does truly exist - and may just be your next door neighbor!

Well I must say I'm not disappointed. Erica has done it again!! What a superb read!!

This is the second book in the Lightkeeper series , read them in order.
Erica has a way of drawing you into the story on the very first page and keeps you gripped till the very last page. This book is full of twists and turns and wonderful characters. I was never sure about reading supernatural kind of books but knowing how much I loved all of Erica's books I have them a go and absolutely loved them. Erica has certainly got another smashing book under her belt!

Thank you so much Erica for an Advanced reading copy!

The second book in The Lightkeepers series is no different than the first....captivating, enthralling, and a real page turner.

In the months following Micki's close call with death, she struggles with trying to remember certain details of that night. With a nagging feeling that her partner, Zach, isn't being completely honest, they must now work a string of high-profile break-ins - break-ins that would lead Micki to finally unlocking those memories.

As usual, Erica hit it put of the park with this book!

I received an ARC for my honest review.
