Book 4 in the Matt Drake series. These books should be read in order.
'Either heroes will rise to save the world or villains will end it...'
In the epic conclusion of the initial 4 part series Matt Drake races against time to prevent Odin's horrifying doomsday device from being unleashed upon the world, igniting a blazing trail of destruction as he chases madmen and traitors across the globe.
International bestselling author of twenty one thrillers, thirteen in the Matt Drake Action/Adventure series, also The Disavowed and Alicia Myles series'. All available for the Amazon Kindle.
The characters really go through the ringer in this book. Some tragedy. But long hidden villans are unveiled and the larger series arc is moved forward in a big way. It's hard to say more without giving away secrets. Another fantastic read. Can't wait for book #5.
When they find the hidden treasure through the Gates of Hell in Diamond Head, Drake and his friends realize that the writing and artifacts found in the two tombs of the gods that they had find so far lead to a clandestine circle pulling the world’s strings and a greater marvel than they expected. Now they are after a third tomb wondering where that will lead them.
I love how this series arc ends for the group. I was wondering how the ‘Oden thing was going to continue for the rest of the series. Looking forward to the next crisis.
Fave scenes: escaping the building, Drake’s idea to allow them to escape Cayman’s trap, Kinimaka’s surprise return and the luau.
This fourth great book brings an end to the "Tombs of the Gods" tale, but lays the groundwork for further adventures. As before, the plot is basically a hot and heavy action story, with lots of large and small twists. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AS BOTH AN INDIVIDUAL BOOK AND AS A SERIES
This has set up to be a good series of books. Matt Drake is your down to earth northern hero.Ex SAS with a side kick who's completely out of his depth but growing up fast. With a couple of ex partners who are expert killers. This really is easy reading...
Really enjoyed this series. The characters are well written and the dialogue brilliant. The plot moves along quickly and the fight scenes are superbly written. Can't wait to get started on the next instalment. Highly recommend these books for anyone who enjoys Matthew Reilly, David Gibbons etc
David creates a perfect world of thrilling wonder to suck you into his narrative. He eloquently balances character development and narrative without sacraficing either. You can't help but get emotionally invested in his characters as they evolve, love, lose, and start again with friends and hope.
Gripping Thriller full of adrenaline and flitting life stories. Lines that have you smiling and lines that have you fearful. Exciting book well done by author David Leadbeater.
This whole series has kept me up nights reading "just one more chapter. " One book leading into the next makes it impossible not to purchase the next book and keep reading I often felt as if I was there. Am soon going to start book #5 about Matt Drake
This was my first encounter with Matt Drake and the first four books were superb, I could not wait to open the next book and finish the series. Now removing to the next thrilling chapter in Matt,s life
I can't stop reading these books, I love the different combo of these operatives, and the non op. But I especial like the Mai and Alicia and Drake trio....I love the banter between them all. Keep them coming.
Well I'm hooked. There is some small changes needed, but it's not a deal breaker. Gun crowd just is a little to good for the situation. But it is fiction. So read on and enjoy. I will.
Just finished Book 4 of the Cycle. I thoroughly enjoyed all four books, sometimes a little audacious and improbable, but hey that's entertainment. Recommend this series wholeheartedly and will continue to enjoy Matt Drake and company. NOTE: Must read in sequence.
Loved these first four Matt Drake books. Thrilling adventure and inventive ideas. Looking forward to number five in the series. Would make brilliant films.
As with the 1st three, this did not disappoint. Sometimes it takes beyond what is credible but it moves so fast you let it go and move on with the next. This is a great series of books and I plan to read them all.
Wow what can I say that I havn't already said, these books just get better and better David certainly knows how to keep the reader hooked. I felt like I was there with the team fighting for freedom and right. I have just finished this final book in the Odin cycle and am totally exhausted what a breathtaking book....the action, the emotion and the surroundings and the plot totally awesome, I just can't wait for the next Matt Drake well done David absolutely brilliant
The four books in Leadbeaters Odin Cycle, ending with Tomb of the Gods, is an exciting read. Thrilling, but violent. The cast of characters is well developed and makes you want to follow them in future books in the series. Really surprised this hasn't been made into sequential movies. They'd be quite a hit.
I really liked that the women were just as involved in the action as the men. I would recommend this series to any one who can suspend or use their imagination for a while and enjoy a good story.
Very well written and entertaining series. I enjoyed all four books. The Tomb of the Gods promised to answer all the questions and it did while leaving enough mystery to keep Matt Drake and his team full I material for more adventures.
drake learns who murdered, his, wife and unborn child...a fellow soldier and commanding officer gave the order so drake would leave the SAS. then drake leads a team to save the world yet again.
