OMG…just…WOW. I did not want to put this book down!  I kept sneaking peaks during work, then when I was finally able to sit down and read uninterrupted later that night, I was up until 3am.  I simply could not stop!  I swear Kim hit on every emotion while giving us Lena and Michael’s story.  This is such a powerful, emotional read of two very different people with an explosive chemistry that cannot be denied. Their downfall could be the ghosts and fears of the past haunting them, keeping their walls high and emotions guarded.  When there has been so much pain and hurt, it’s hard to freely open up and give everything. To feel everything. To allow that one person who can completely destroy you have all of you.  There are so many aspects of this book I want to comment on, but I can’t without giving away any of the twist and turns. The feels are intense, the desire is powerful and consuming, the hurt is crippling and gut-wrenching, the sex is oh so steamy but not over-the-top graphic, and the love…there is so much love just begging to be screamed from the mountain tops.

Kim Loraine is a new-to-me author and I am so thrilled to have found her.  Redemption is book four in A Golden Beach series and can definitely be read as a stand-alone, I never felt lost or felt like I was missing any key information but I can assure you, I have definitely added her other books in the series to my list of have to read ASAP books. Outstanding job. Exceptional details. Heart-grabbing. An emotionally powerful love story you don’t want to miss!

Some of my favorite quotes/lines in Redemption are:

“I’ll always come back. Always. Do you hear me? Even when you don’t want me to.”

Sadness crept in as she watched him close a part of himself off and they danced without speaking.  She’d just lost that piece of him, possibly forever.

“The truth is, you can never stop working to deserve her.  The moment you do, is the moment you lose her.”

“I needed to get the hell out of there so I could tell you I wasn’t done with us.  I won’t give up on us.”

“I’ll never leave you, Lena.  As long as my heart beats, it’s yours.”

“You can’t spend every day worried he’ll be taken from you.  If you do that, one day you’ll wake up and realize all of your time together was darkened by fear.”

Who can pass up a Hot fireman? "Not I", said no one. We get to see a hot fireman with a heart of gold. He may have been shafted in the past, but this Vegas quick wedding is sure to leave you burning up. There is so much passion, insecurity on both parts, determination and a surprise that kept unraveling and has you gasping a few times until you feel Redemption right along with Michael and Lena.
This book is a standalone in the Golden Beach series and you can easily read this story without having to have read the other books. You will be adding those other books to your TBR growing list of books, trust me. There is not a book yet that you will not fall in love with in this Golden Beach series.
Michael finally has it all after much hurt and loss in his past. He still struggles with some of it and it makes it even harder when the blast from the past shows up and tries to sabotage your happiness. It makes it so much harder when your spouse, Lena travels all over the world months at a time for her job. He is supportive of her job, but time away keeps insecurity on both parts when the blast from the past and almost no communication access to each other limits their discussion and what this means for their future.
As if being dropped one bomb blast isn't enough, Lena drops another one on him. Divorce papers! Michael will stop at nothing to show Lena that he won't give up on their relationship and that they deserve their chance at making this marriage work. Both are stubborn, trust me, but Alpha Fire will show Lena that her past does not define her future. Can the sparks that brought them together, put out the fires brought on by destruction? Read the book to find out if they get their HEA or not.
You may feel HOT from the fires they put out OR hungry from the baking you will want to do while reading this or afterwards, but you will not be disappointed in this Golden Beach read.

HOT, HOT, HOT!!! Kim's writing was powerful and filled with passion, I was sucked in to this book and couldn't put it down.
Lena and Michael's story was emotional and raw.

Michael and Lena come together and their connection is the spark that sets fire to their soul's...but fire is also the enemy and are this couple strong enough to weather the destruction coming their way.

A Vegas wedding see this couple jumping straight in, but do they really know enough about one another to be forever.

Lena is living the dream, she has always wanted to be a professional photographer and she has succeeded but at the cost of being with the man she loves full time. Her job takes her around the world and away for long periods of time. They both knew this was never going to be an easy ride. Then there is the massive revelation to deal with, dropped on her just as she is leaving for 3 months...how will she cope.

Michael is happy, he is doing the job he loves and has his beautiful wife. He knows that when she leaves it will be tough but he would never ask her to sacrifice the one thing she loves. He has always had the idea of his future but after a conversation with Lena he find that if he wants to keep the woman he loves he might have no option but to change his dream. On the morning of Lena leaving he is given a massive shock one that is going to test him and his relationship with his wife to the max.

Now they are married but on other sides of the world and contact is minimal due to their jobs and the time difference. Michael is fighting for them all but Lena is left fighting her demons.

Insecurities, dreams and lies look set to rip them apart...Can this couple get the HEA they deserve???

“Sparks may fly in the bedroom, but fire always brings destruction.”

Lena, loves photography and dreams of making it big. Lena’s father abandoned her and her mother when she was only two years old. She has trust issues with men and has no intentions of falling in love. What happens when a playboy firefighter is all she can think of?

Michael, playboy, firefighter, what more can you ask for? Michael is haunted by his past. Left at the alter two days before his wedding by his fiancé, losing his brother after he covered call for Michael. In the past he used alcohol and women to drown in his sorrows. Now he focuses on work and women.

Michael and Lena have an instant attraction that is undeniable, it is explosive! After six months of dating, they end up married in Vegas one weekend. With Lena’s career taking off, will their new marriage be able to survive her being away for months at a time? What happens when Kate, Michael’s ex-fiancé shows up with a surprise? Will their marriage go up in flames, or will they put the fire out together?

I devoured Redemption in one sitting and loved it. The characters and the story are beautifully written. It’s a story about new love, overcoming odds and never giving up. This is the fourth book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. I can’t wait to go back and read the others.

Whew I can finally take a deep breath. This story just about did me in. I didn't want to like Lena I mean come on Michael is a hunky firefighter work it out girl!! Anyway the story is awesome it starts off one way and then all of a sudden you meet Michael and he is getting a bomb dropped and then we flash back to get us caught up. Anyway both of these two have major issues but they are sooooooo human it is mind boggling. The part that just did me in is when Michael is talking to his mother after he was sucker punched yet again, she says to him to hang on and his response is he doesn't know if he can. I was done!! This emotional read about two people and their struggle to make it work.

The characters are so real and the boat load of crap these two went thru while I would love to say it was all Lena's fault the truth is they both had problems, although most were caused by other people, problems none the less. Excellent writing, twist, turns, betrayal, and so much more with a strong casts of characters that make this book a real keeper. I am now going to find out just how many books I need to purchase from this author because I have to read more of this series.

4* read.

This is the first book by this author that I've read but now I will defiantly be going back and reading more.

The characters were very well developed and whats better then a sexy hot alpha fireman to get your teeth into. This isn't usually the book I'd pick up, just for the fact that its based more around after they got married and I usually read romances from like the very start not after if that makes sense. Ha that probably doesn't make sense but in my head I know what I mean.

After getting married on impulse they're now facing some tough times which was quite hard to read at times and very emotional. I won't say to much more incase I give anything away but it is defiantly worth a read even if you haven't read the others in the series like me. It was a unique emotional story and I enjoyed going on their journey with them.

I'm a fan of Kim Loraine, so I jumped at the opportunity to read Redemption before its release. It didn't disappoint, and I read it in two sittings. What a roller coaster ride of emotions! The characters are well-developed, likeable, and relatable, the intimate scenes, steamy and realistic. I laughed, cried, and agonized right along with Lena and Michael. I'll be clearing a spot on my bookshelf for all Kim's books.

This Series Just Keeps Getting Better. I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. The author's writing keeps pulling you in and gets you invested in these contemporary romance characters and their world. This book is an excellent continuation in the series but can also be read/listened to as a stand-a-lone. This is the first audiobook in the series with two narrators performing in duet style, and it just makes it that much better. There is a serial arsonist that has made an appearance in each of the books in the series, so if you read from the beginning you will be very invested and want them to catch them in the final book. I don't usually have time to actually sit and read which is a major reason I love audiobooks when they are done as well as this one, but the last book in this series might be one I find the time to read if it doesn't come to audio soon.

I love Kim Loraine's Golden Beach Series and how well she blends the past and present characters lives together. The way she overlapped certain situations didn't seem redundant. It felt fluid. As though you could see how the lives were going on simultaneously. I thought Michael and Lena's fireball romance was just that. Explosive and passionate. Gotta love some hunky fire fighters!
Though on more than one occasion I wanted to shake em both, sit em down for a pow wow.. oh its a story? mmmkay.. After reading quite a few in the series it feels as though you know them. Though if you haven't read any of the series you definitely would not be lost.
Both Michael and Lena are struggling with different situations from the past that make it difficult to truly open their hearts completely to let the other in. How far would you go to prove your love?

Redemption by Kim Loraine

I was lucky enough to receive an early copy to give an honest review.

Lena drove me insane at first. She is wishy washy about what she wants. Michael is everything you would want in a partner. The story has a ton of angst and hotness. I did not want to put it down. I loved Michael at times and hated him in others. Well, hate is strong - he was just being an ass at times. I really did not like Lena at first. I wanted to smack her 90% of the book. I understood her issues, but communicate for Pete's sake!! She did redeem herself, though no pun intended.

Loved the story and loved the normal everyday people Kim wrote about. I will definitely read her books in the future!!

This was my first book by Kim, but I will be going back and reading ALL of the books in the Golden Beach series for sure! I liked how developed her characters were and while I felt like I missed things from previous stories, I still loved this book, and enjoyed the story and the idea of this small town and the people in it.

Michael and Lena married in an impulse, and are now facing some hard realities of marriage... divorce seems like the best and only option, but Michael refuses to give up on them. This book was an emotional roller coaster of lies, love, and insecurity. I love seeing these characters be vulnerable, and show their raw and flawed lives and emotions. I loved seeing the growth and I cried like a baby many times.

“You can’t spend every day worried he’ll be taken from you. If you do that, one day you’ll wake up and realize all of your time together was darkened by fear.” Loved this quote... and it's a great mentality for love and marriage! Don't be afraid, live each day fearless!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book.

If you love reading about hot firemen who are alpha for all the right reasons then this is the book for you. Not only is Michael crazy hot but he’s also got a heart as big as the Atlantic.

There were so many elements to this story and so many feels all of which I can’t go into or I’ll spoil the story for you all.

I will say that Kim Loraine really did her homework, the details and bits of information regarding the firehouse and what happens on a call took me right to the scene of incident everytime.
Getting little snippets of the characters from the other books in her series was a really great bonus, especially seen through the eyes of Michael and Lena.
I can’t wait for this to come out on audio book so I can experience this story again.

A great addition to the series.

I was so lucky to get an ARC of Redemption and it definitely did not disappoint. Lean and Michael's story will take you on a roller coaster of emotions. It was so incredibly hard to pry myself away from their story because I wanted to know what would happen next.

I love that Kim has connected all of the Golden Beach characters together and to finally hear Lena and Michael's story was amazing!

REDEMPTION was a first for me – first book written by Kim Lorraine, first audiobook narrated by Will M. Watt and Susan Fouche. At this point I’m only going to say this much: Neither this nor that will be my last one!

The blurb of this story intrigued me and drew me in immediately. One of my favorite romance tropes are second chances, especially those where couples are already married but drifting apart for whatever reasons and find their way to each other again and discover their passion for one another anew. I can’t get enough of this kind of stories! And they are such a rarity, sadly…

And this book does not only show the couple when they are already married, but also how they met and fell for each other. It’s an intoxicating mix.

Lena loves her job as a photographer and has the ambitions to make it big. She is strong, determined and beautiful. The only thing she doesn’t do is fall for and commit herself to a man, thanks to the jaded and damaged marriage of her parents. Trusting a man just seems impossible.

Michael loves his job as a firefighter and after being burned by a woman he thought he loved and thought loved him, he is happy with his status as a playboy.

What happens when those two commitment-phobes meet and succumb to their instant and blazing hot attraction? …they get married on a whim after only six months of dating on a
in Vegas. Boom! They love each other deeply and yet, once they have to face tougher times in their marriage, their insecurities come out to mess with it all. Will they be able to hold onto each other or will their marriage go up in flames?

Lena and Michael had chemistry in spades, but also carried as much past hurt which stood in their way of true happiness. Their characters with all their flaws and struggles were well developed and easy to connect to. Their journey was not exactly easy, but heartfelt and full of determination.

A story about taking chances, conquering insecurities and never giving up. Oh, having the hot and swoony firefighter into the mix that is Michael also doesn’t hurt :) I think I might have to go back and read the other books in the series as well!

Now… the narrators. Will M. Watt and Susan Fouche do a stellar job with this duet narration and bring each character to life in a unique way. As previously said, it was my first book with this duo as narrators. I think it’s funny that I heard so many good things about Will’s English drawl but have picked one of those books where he has an American accent as my first. I loved his voice with this accent so much that I’m slightly afraid what his British one will do to me. Lol.

Redemption is part of Kim Loraine's Golden Beach series. It can be read as a stand alone, though as I read it I am greatly intrigued about the other characters mentioned in this story. I am new to Kim Loraine as an author, but this will certainly not be the last I read from her. I fell in love with the wonderful world she has created in Golden Beach. She created suspense, combustible chemistry and a story line that kept me burning through the pages. There were times I laughed out loud, cried and even felt like I wanted to scream at how frustrated I was at a character from time. But in the end, it made for a beautiful story.

Golden Beach firefighter Lieutenant Michael Oliver has had a rough couple of years. Losing his brother and fiance has not helped, but he is finally starting to get his life back on track. When he reunites with the sexy free-spirited photographer he is willing to do anything in his power to keep her within his grasp. The last thing he needs or expects is to have his past come barreling into his present to complicate things.

Lena Shirakawa is a free-lance photographer who loves to travel the world. She is good at what she does and her job takes her away for months at a time. When she impulsively decides to marry the man of her dreams her fear of losing her firefighter could quite possibly become a reality, if she gives in to those fears.

PS - The narration of this story was phenomenal. Will Watt and Susan Fouche do a spectacular job of bringing Kim Loraine's characters to life. I am new to Susan Fouche and would gladly listen to her work again. After listening to this performance, I have to say I am quite impressed with Will's range of characters. I have listened and fell in love with his British voices, but I have to say I was quite impressed with his American one as well. I enjoyed his performance so much I could probably listen to him read the phone book and still be enthralled. I am looking forward to listening to both of these narrators in the future as well!

There is something about the way Kim Loraine writes that completely enraptures me. This series has taken me in from the first book, but I have to say that this one had me in every emotion I could think of. I am not a person who gets all wrapped up in the feelings, I listen to the story and enjoy. This one I was physically happy and sad and I had to keep the earbuds in to find out how things were going to turn out. This is story of Michael Oliver, firefighter,(of course he is hot, he is a firefighter) and Lena Shirakawa(beautiful photographer). The two have an incredibly fast wedding and are off to really now get to know each other. So many twists and unexpected things happen to this couple, you cannot help but feel for both of them. I don't want to give anything of the story away, but the two together are explosive and apart are gut-wrenching. I love that the supporting cast are characters we have met in previous books, but I have to say, Mitchell is the one who really stole my heart. What a cute little boy caught in the most unfortunate of circumstances. Thank you Kim for giving us this story, your talent is truly amazing.

Will M Watt and Susan Fouche are the dual narrating team of this book, and have fast become one of my favorite teams. I think their portrayal really brought the true value of the emotions felt in this story. Look forward to hearing more of their narrations,

Let me start with, who doesn't love to read a book where you share the same name as the main character?!? This was the first time for me as Lena is not a common name and it was pretty cool and weird at the same time!

Not only was it a first for the name thing, it was also my first introduction to Kim Loraine. It took about six months for me to finally get through my TBR list to get to Redemption and let me tell you, knowing there was six books in the series I knew I wasn't going to be able to stop at one! I'm already on my third Golden Beach Novel!

Redemption introduces us to sexy firefighter Michael and amazing photographer Lena. Sparks fly right away for Michael, yet they are already there for Lena, remembering the one night they spent together in the past. Their chemistry becomes a whirlwind romance and as twist and turns are thrown their way, not only do they need to find their true-selves they also have to decide if their love is worth fighting for! 5 out of 5 roses!

I read this very quickly it’s nothing special just a normal romantic book. The key elements that make this book work is a lot of drama and real life situations. There is a few books out there by this author with some of the same characters mentioned here. Thankfully they are all standalone books like this. The clever thing this author has achieved is a part from me liking this book, she’s made me want to go back and read all the others. I’m pretty sure any fans of romance and drama will love this. I loved this book. I love how complex the characters were. They both got some pretty heavy obstacles thrown in their way and I loved reading about how they cover came them. These characters just jumped off the pages for me. I did find myself emotionally involved with these characters and this book.

This was a new to me authour and I jumped into this series on book 4 now I must go back and read the others!!

Fun story, a bit shallow. I wasn't totally sold on all the characters, but I really did like the primary characters. I listened to the audio version and found the narration of the female characters that weren't Lena super obnoxious. It was also a bit irritating the way all the female characters who weren't Lena or chosen friends of Lena were written as faithless, shallow, and dumb women. Good read if you want something light to work through quickly with a sweet HEA.
