You cannot go wrong by selecting a book written by Smith Wigglesworth.
His life is a life to be sought after.
People often wonder why they cannot attain the results of people like Wigglesworth. But when you read his books, you get an understanding of his total commitment, relationship with God, obedience, and denial of his flesh that are all necessary to underlie faith.
Why don't we have the faith of Wigglesworth? Why can we not go to a wake, pick up a body from the coffin, stand it up against a wall and tell it to live, then when it falls down again, pick it up again, and keep telling it to live... until it does?
This book will show you the lifestyle that is required to sustain and grow your faith.
Beware all unbelievers and those cold in faith... this book will set you ablaze! For all on the faith journey, you will be greatly encouraged and challenged.
This is one of the best books, it is part biography because he tells true stories of how he had dealings with this person of that and how he prayed for them and they were healed; his encounters with unbelief, and so much more. He teaches through true stories of his life, and that is what makes this book such an enjoyable read.
It should be listed MUST READ for everyone seeking to grow in their knowledge of God and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
This book is written by someone who took Wigglesworth's messages and converted them into book format. It reads as though he is speaking. Will build faith and encourage action in the name of Jesus. (Note: 8 of the 23 Chapters are duplicates from book compilation "Healing" by same author)
This book will destroy your religious theological god box. He is so much bigger and mightier than how our mostly apostate churches represent Him! I want the relationship with Jesus that this man had, and I am willing to follow Jesus anywhere to have it.
This is a book I read repeatedly, one chapter at a time, with plenty of time in between to meditate on what I got out of it. So encouraging, so challenging, so exciting. Smith Wigglesworth is in my personal "faith hall of fame."
While this was assigned reading for a course I am currently taking, I plan to re-read this when I can devote more time to study and reflect. This book contains so much to unpack that I found it to be an overwhelming read, but in a good way.
This little paperback is a collection of sermons delivered by the late Pentecostal preacher, Smith Wigglesworth. They were transcribed by those present and then collected into this volume. Not only do you get to hear what this man of faith shared with people all over the world, but you can read stories of people who were healed, delivered and saved after being touched by his ministry.
Each message is fairly short and delivered in simple language. Wigglesworth humbly, but unashamedly confronts sin and challenges people to take God at His word. He shares examples of people he ministered to and how they responded to the presence and power of God.
Wigglesworth was a simple tradesman who loved and served Jesus. But when he was filled with the Holy Spirit, he became a powerful preacher of the gospel who traveled the world over to bring people to Christ. If you are curious about the Pentecostal movement from the last century, this is a good book to introduce you to one of the pioneers of that period. If you read with an open mind and heart, you're sure to find yourself inspired to believe God for more than what you previously imagined--both for yourself and others!
I got this book because we as the church really need to seek to grow in our faith on a daily basis. All living things need nourishment and if we are not feeding on God's word as a part of that daily nourishment then we have become stunted in our growth. I chose this author because he truly was a man of God and lived out his faith. Sometimes this walk seems more complicated than we would like but the more we trust wholeheartedly in Gods word the easier life becomes. Trials will always be there but we need to keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. These testimonies and Smith Wigglesworths have helped me tremendously. I am no spring chicken, age 73, and I have a ways to go but faith is stronger today than yesterday. Thank God for these teachings.
This is the first book by Wigglesworth I’ve read…I’m still not sure what to think…it’s packed with anecdotes and Biblical reasoning regarding healing, deliverance, the other gifts of the Spirit and more.
I see myself as ‘part Pentecostal’ having grown up attending Elim and other Pentecostal churches but in that regard I’m probably more ‘centrist’ (If Elim was on one end and refusing to believe in Gifts of the spirit is on the other)
It’s an interesting read. I’ve rated it 4, merely because I think all such books should have a conclusion to ‘pull everything together’.
Recommend as it will encourage and give food for thought.
Smith Wigglesworth tells the stories of daily life as he walked/lived his life in faith at every turn. He truly puts to action Matthew 10:8, Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. His walk is overflowing with these very things - healing, raising from the dead, casting out demons as a daily part of life.
It is a diary more than anything, shared to encourage believers and bring glory to God.
It Should Be the Same Today As I the Time of Christ, and the Time of the 12 and the Time of Wigglesw
As I read this book I feel that I have an opportunity to be who the Lord has called me to be. My heart hurts because I know I have not accomplished anything near what I could have. I am believing God is going to make me able to do all that I need to to Glorify Him over and I Dr again. Praise God for who He is
Wow. Best book I've read from Smith so far. All is good, but chapters 13 and on were so important and encouraging to me in light of living with and from Holy Spirit. Smith's living, partnering with our Life, is far beyond me. So grateful for such Brothers and Sister's testimonies and Faith stories. This book, like each Smith book I've read, is full of his personal experiences that will bless, encourage and inspire in this bringing-Heaven-to earth partnership with God.
Another collection of accounts of the blessed ministry of Rev. Smith Wigglesworth. As noted by others; the accounts are a previously published collection of sermons/writings and can be read by section with no loss of continuity. I found this book and others by Smith Wigglesworth to be faith in action, of great value. Recommended highly.
Smith Wigglesworth is famous for the amazing healing anointing God placed upon him. So it only makes sense that his words would be anointed as well. Some of the best teaching I’ve read on: healing, baptism of the Holy Spirit, tongues, and of course faith. A must read for anyone wanting to be used mightily by God.
I am impressed that, filled with the HOLY GHOST power, this simple, natural man could be so emboldened and so powerful as he allowed GOD to work through him. Even with my Pentecostal upbringing I am humbled at the thought of being used by GOD in such a powerful way.
If you haven’t read any of Smith Wigglesworth’s books, you’re missing out. He was a great man of faith, and his stories will inspire you and cause you to hunger for a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ, and the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in your life.
I read this book so many times, I wore the cover off. The miracle stories were so encouraging, I wanted to rehearse them over and over and over again. Smith Wigglesworth has a way of communicating faith that makes you want to shout, "Yes, no matter what, I will not doubt. I will believe!"
His persistence paid off at every step of faith. Walked in His Steps Stepped in fath walked in Spirit, flesh did he conquered till he revealed Christ to all. Really a Man of Fire of God.
Wow! This should be a text book for ministry. There is a lot to be learned in this book. Wigglesworth talks a lot about the sin sickness correlation. He highlights the importance of forgiveness, and really gets in to the nuts and bolts of how he ministers.
This book is a must read! It will knock over some sacred cows! It will inspire a new believer and teach some great principles! I have enjoyed reading this book very much. Sad to have ended it, glad to find another!
Powerful message, each page stirs the Spirit and makes me have a desire or need to delve deeper in God's Holy Word. This book was truly a blessing to my thirsty soul
