The high-octane conclusion to the time travel thriller, RIFT.

With Cascade gone through the rift, Price is determined to fix everything and find her. It doesn't matter if there's somebody that could become him--steal his life--on the other side of the rift. What does matter is that he figure out how to mend it.

But he doesn't even have access to it anymore. When he wakes up to a new, different existence than what he's used to, he realizes that everything about time is fluid. And anyone with the power to walk through time can change his entire future.

Cascade knows this all too well, having lived in dozens of realities over the years. And the one she lives in now, she doesn't want. Because it still harbors secrets about her father, who her sister Saige is determined to find.

Find him they do, but no one--not Price, not Saige, not Cascade--is prepared for what they'll find on the other side of the rift...

In this follow-up to Rift, not only do we get time travel but also inter-dimensional travel to alternate universes. Which, okay, sort of messed up my brain because I kept losing track of both when and where the characters were. First someone was mean, then nice; alive, then dead, then never even existed, then alive again, but in a different reality… But. I still loved it.

Watching the various characters evolve and grow and decide what was important for them was great. The plot was great (even with my confusion of time and space—but I get that way watching Dr Who and it's still one of my favorite shows—just forget about that and enjoy the ride).

I liked this one only slightly less than the first one because I felt things got tied up too fast and too easily at the end. But it's still a wonderful read.

Recommended to YA readers who like scifi time travel with some romance. Clean read. Fake swear word.

I haven't read the book, but I was struck by how unfair it was that the only person who rated it so far gave it one star without a comment. When there are more reviews, I'll likely delete my rating if I haven't read it by then.

I was hooked in this novel where we were thrown not only forward and backwards in time but between dimensions. I thought it was very clever.

Sometimes a 2nd book isn't as good as the first. That is not the case with this book. RIFT was fantastic and drew me in right away, so I was quick to buy MEND to finish the series. Wow. Excellent plotting, fast-paced, danger coming from everywhere, and people who aren't what they seem. Price gets a rude awakening when he discovers his father isn't the man he thought he was. When Price goes to him for help getting Cascade back, he's more than disappointed. Cascade is in trouble herself. The characters from the first book change and grow, as does their confidence and courage. I enjoyed these books so much I'm going to check out more by Elana Johnson.
