So, I think it's really important to contextualize this book before you read it.
It was written in the 1990s, in the wake of the Somalia affair in which CAF soldiers tortured and killed Somali civilians.
The book is not history or a story. It is an expose, written by reporters, on various accounts of corruption within the Canadian military.
Despite that, I believe it's an important read. It continues to have tie-ins to the modern day Canadian forces and serves as an object lesson of what can happen to a force if its ethical foundations begin to waver.
Rated 4-stars as good professional development for Canadian Forces officers, and not so much entertainment for the general population.
