How do you punish an unfaithful husband? That’s easy. You Kill Him.
For one cold-hearted woman, murder is the answer to her marital problems. Though the investigating detective knows this was a murder, he can’t prove it. The only black widow of his career has just got away with murder.
But someone else knows what she did, and he isn’t bound by the rules of the law. He’ll do anything, sacrifice anyone, to take her down.
An intense thriller filled with lust, betrayal and revenge.
An interesting plot line that does not quite work for me. Some uncorrected errors along the way add to the reader's annoyance. A perfect murder it seems is not possible here even when no crime has been committed. The first part of the story is the strongest but thereafter the characters do not hold up beyond reverting to type and the final part of the book seems as rushed as it is implausible. A certain time of justice seems to be at work but it does not make good reading
Yes consequences has actions to them as do effects reactions. Everything that happened to Cheryl wasn't of her making, she was being groomed and molded since she was a teenager by her parents for the woman she became. She took responsibility for the murder of Dave, but why did she do it? What mental instability and psychological conditioning she lived with her parents and her husband and open relationships that lead to her psychotic break? Yes Mike may not feel guilty she's going to jail now since she's not a cop anymore, but he doesn't feel one bit of sympathy for Dave's death. Mike just wanted to be right that's all, and in the end he was right but now for all the wrong reasons and way too late when it counted for something. I knew it was the son, because he was fourteen when Dave was killed and being that Dave was seeing his ex wife behind Cheryl's back his son had a closer relationship with him to revenge his death I get it. But I wouldn't shed a tear for the infidel, he can take his sex problem and his weak promises to hell as far as the story goes all the women got played in some way. If Harold was so in love it wouldn't take him 16 months to remarry and bring the chick to my ex wife's attempted murder trial? Crying on the bench like he got feelings for Cheryl, he stopped giving a f**k yrs ago! It's clear that the Alex guy isn't the only one in the story with some deep seated issues psychologically that crazy needed to be checked thoroughly! There was just too many guilty, shady, and close minded people in this story for me to think anybody was innocent accept Mandy!
'Black Widow' was definitely a tense thriller. I give this book about 3 1/2 stars. The premise was truly good, but the book lacks editing. Too many mistakes for me to overlook. However, the storyline itself was quite thrilling. It is full of deceit, betrayal, arrogant characters and thrills. Mike was a damn good detective. I liked his tenacity. Cheryl on the other hand was a despicable woman who excelled at ruining lives. I love how the story played out. A good add to your tbr list.
This book is so captivating, I couldn't put it down. Read it all in one night. Ill not spoil the story line for the next reader, but I highly recommend you get comfortable, curl up and hold on tight. Never expected the ending. Great read. Will definitely look this author's other books up.
I enjoyed this for being a free kindle book. I thought there was room for more details and development all and all I can't give it more then 3 stars. I hope to see more books with Mike the cop in the future.
