Dans ce tome ci Gideon se rend dans un petit village accompagné de l'agent spécial Calla Frost. Celle ci a en effet besoin de son aide car la situation sur place est bizarre et elle soupçonne une l'existence de forces surnaturelles sur place et n'a aucun moyen de le vérifier par elle même.
Mais sur place les choses s'enveniment quand ils se rendent compte qu'ils sont en fait prisonniers de la zone car une barrière magique a été mise en place pour empêcher quiconque de quitter la zone ...
Ce tome ci avait une ambiance très fantastique-horreur vu que Gideon se retrouve à devoir se battre contre un démon qui est capable de faire des doubles de tout les humains qu'il rencontre et de les posséder à volonté. Le tout dans une petite ville coupée de toutes communications avec l’extérieur ...
Résultat vous imaginez bien qu'on fini par douter de tout le monde. Comment reconnaitre les vrais des faux, les faux étant tout aussi vrai au final, sauf qu'ils ont la particularité de pouvoir être à tout moment possédés par le démon.
Gideon a un petit avantage car les double n'ayant pas d'ame, si un meurt il peut tout de suite vérifier. Mais pour cela il faut déjà que la personne soit morte ce qui n'est pas vraiment pratique.
J'ai trouve cet épisode très agréable à lire. Il changeait des précédents qui étaient finalement beaucoup plus portés sur le coté urban fantasy et "hommes contre surnaturels". Dans celui ci on a vraiment une tension du début à la fin et j'ai beaucoup aimé l'ambiance.
En plus on en découvre accidentellement plus sur le coté humain de la famille de Gideon.
C'est vrai qu'il est court ce tome, moins de 200 pages. Je me souviens que sur certains autres tomes j'avais râlé sur ce point. Mais sur celui ci c'est passé tout seul. Le fait que ça soit court fait qu'il n'y a pas les longueurs que peuvent avoir certaines livres de fantastique qui jouent surtout sur l'ambiance. Les événements s'enchainent ici assez rapidement les uns après les autres et on n'a pas le temps de s'ennuyer.
Certes je ne citerais surement pas cette série parmi les meilleures du genre dans sa globalité, mais j'ai passé au moins un bon moment dans ce tome, c'est le principal.

Fantastic book loving the stories and i like that each book keeps things interesting and doesnt lapse into the same old boring platforms. cant wait for the next one

Another Spellbinding Book by Sonya Bateman!
This series just keeps getting better and better. The hard part for me is the trash talking about God and all of the cursing using the Lord's name in vain. A story can be just as exciting without an expletive every five minutes. I really enjoy the camaraderie Gideon has with his Brother, Sadie and Fae friends. I like the heart Sonya gives Gideon and the other characters. She truly does give the characters "souls". The cliffhanger at the end sounded intriguing and I'm ready for Gideon and the gang's next adventure!. I hope Sonya will continue the love story between Gideon and Frost. It's about time that he has someone who will love and care for him romantically. I began this book earlier this evening and couldn't put it down until I finished it. It is now 3:21am on Christmas Eve and I'm very sleepy. Obviously I highly recommend this book and series. Thank you Sonya Bateman for another amazing Gideon Black book! Happy Holidays!

Not released fast enough

Gideon stretches his wings
This is a fantastic read. It was nice to see Gideon away from his support system and having to rely on his own abilities. I feel that he grew as a character and became more likable as a result! Impatiently looking forward to the next book!

Another good story about the DeathSpeaker by Bateman. I hope Book 7 isn't far behind. Gideon sure has become a badass !

Another great instalment to the series
I was so happy to be back in this world again, it was like I never left. It was another short and sweet instalment but with a little less of our usual characters. I would have loved too have seen more Eli as he was my favourite in the last book. I also felt that the main story was wrapped up a little too nice and neat but it led onto a potential plot for the next book. I really hope Sonya Bateman continues this series, I love it and can't believe I've read them all already.

Loved it!
I haven't had time to review the others as I dove straight in to each next book. Just to say this is a fan series, I can't wait for the next one. I read the series through Kindle unlimited, but I will be purchasing them as they are definitely ones that I will read again. I am not one for explaining the story or giving critiques, I will just say they are well worth reading if you are fans of your urban fantasy with a sense of humour.
Fans of Butcher, Herne et all will love this series. X

This is the sixth book in( The Deathspeaker Coded Book series )
These books never sees to amaze me they are really deep with real and complicated emotions set in the paranormal /urban legend genre the protagonist is a relatable and likable character . The supporting characters are good too and they serve a purpose other than just being a fodder they are also relatable and likable not to mention unique . I'm truly enjoying this series and I would highly recommend it to anyone who also liked this type of genre .

What a tangled story this was!
Maybe it's me but I had a little not of trouble with this book. There were some plot twists and duplicate characters that I lost track of along the way. Other than that, it was a fun story with a lot of good vs. evil stuff as you'd expect. Of course there was the obligatory twist at the end setting the stage gorvtge next book (which I happen to have - waiting for me to begin reading it).

This was truly an seating series!!! Adventures around every corner!!! Filled with mystery and wonder about what was going to happen next!! Always keeping me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next plot twist!!! I know I've said this with the other chapters to this series, but I would love to see the Deathspeaker turned into a television series!!!!

The main character Gideon has a lot on his plate in this book so I had a fun time while I read it. I just hope his new problems won't be bad as it sounds.

She did it again!
I cannot say enough good things about these books! The characters are well thought out and make you love them. The stories are equal parts action, suspense, and adventure with a little bit of romance thrown in. I can't wait for the next book!

I really enjoy this series
Such amazing adventures Gideon has. The story is good old fashioned horror mixed in with action. I adored it. And as always the characters were rich in detail and just enough background to give the storyline exactly the element of terror.
We also have a few new surprises that carries over to the new book that I can't wait to see what becomes of them and just who is involved. Cliffhanger??

I liked the whole evil doppelganger ( sort of) idea.
I enjoy the relationships between the characters.
I find that I am almost always surprised when Gideon
drops his illusion and is revealed as other.
I am glad I stumbled across this series.

Ugh, Bateman does NOT disappoint in the next installment!! I felt it was a little shorter than the previous books, but that ending has me anticipating the next book with great fervor! I think it was a great twist and can't wait to find out what's in store!

Not sure how to review this one
This book seemed rushed as opposed to the rest of the series. I was disappointed that several of the characters were playing a very small part. The new characters were sketchy. I still like the series but I was disappointed in this one.

Good read
Good read fast paced. On par with the other books. Could go into more detail on how The Death Speaker could develop more powers . More on His father and brother. I would like to see more of the people in the castle. More of the Fae world. More books please.
