In the spirit of Snoopy and Charlie Brown, or Calvin and Hobbes, Dog eat Doug is the cartooning creation of Brian Anderson that follows the daily exploits of Sophie, a cheese-loving chocolate Lab with a nose for the nuances of sarcasm and irony, and baby Doug, a healthy, happy newborn with no concept of jealousy and a limitless curiosity.
Together, this dynamic duo adjusts to sharing the spotlight, the toys, and the affections of Mom and Dad, while exploring nature and its majesty, the couch and its cushions, and the cookie jar and its contents.
Brian Anderson is the creator of the upcoming graphic novels and animated series “Sophie”, based on his syndicated comic, “Dog eat Doug”.
He is also the author of The Conjurers trilogy (Rise of the Shadow, Hunt for the Lost, and Fight of the Fallen) as well as the picture books Nighty Night, Sleepy Sleeps; The Prince’s New Pet; and Monster Chefs. He lives in North Carolina with his family, which includes a herd of rescued dogs and cats.
Dog eat Doug Volume 7: The Seventh Collection of Comic Strips by Brian Anderson is a great collection of comics. They remind me of Calvin and Hobbs in a way but they certainly have their own style. Very clever and very funny. Nice large volume with plenty to read and enjoy. I got my giggles on in this book. Not disappointed with this, great book!
Another adorable addition to the Dog Eat Doug series. I was a little disappointed with how many errors I found throughout this book though. Mainly spelling errors, but I think one comic was repeated without the captions, etc. Always good for a laugh though! I love Sophie and Doug!
I really enjoy these comics: Dog eat Doug. I follows a young dog named Sophie who finds new members joining her house. First a baby, Doug, and then two young cats, Chewbacca and Equinox! Sophie and Doug turn their noses at each other when they first meet, but then a bond between them starts to form. Seconds later they are hatching plans to raid the pantry, sneaking food off the table for each other, exploring in the woods in their backyard together, stealing toys from each other, watching the crazy squirrels together, and the list goes on! I have always loved this series. It makes me laugh really hard every few pages, and both Doug and Sophie are adorable. On some special pages Brian Anderson draws some really detailed pictures and writes a poem with it that Sophie is thinking in her head. I recommend reading this book- and the rest of the series.
I could read this over and over. It is so funny every time. Great situations and characters. Just like reading Calvin and Hobbes these are books are wonderful for all ages and told in the funniest way.
I found the comics humorous, just as promised. I think you will like this if you are a fan of Calvin & Hobbes or if you have pets at Home. The portrayal of cats just adds more fun. 5 stars if there were more coloured frames. Loved it. I already downloaded the next book in the series.
Lots of errors in this book. No instead of know. To instead of two. Fair well instead of farewell. Etc... Also does not have Pageview or whatever it is called, so you get one whole page of the book at a time which makes it hard to read on an e-reader.
Cute and funny comics about an adorable puppy and her baby companion. See what fun mischief these two have when the parents announce plans to move. Moving boxes everywhere! Oh, what tangled fun they have.
