Flynn’s new boss is so hot he can’t wait to get home to tell the chatroom how much he wants Dom’s cock down his throat. By Friday, he's shared quite a few thoughts on what he'd like his boss to do to him. But he’s not as anonymous as he thinks, and Dom’s intent on disciplining him for breaching company policy on social networking. Dom gives him a choice of put up or shut he can play out the fantasy in real life, or he can walk out of the office without a word to HR as long as he never talks that way about Dom again. Flynn chooses “put up”—but he's forgotten about one of the things he said he wouldn't mind doing.
Storm Duffy has a number of erotica shorts published under that and other names in a variety of venues, including “The Mammoth Book of Quick and Dirty Erotica”. As Jules Jones, she has written several erotic romance novellas and novels, including the first M/M romance published by Loose Id.
Amongst the 2500 or so books on shelves in her house, there is room for rather a lot of cross-stitch thread and entirely too many balls of wool. There are also more bits of computer kit than is quite reasonable for someone who doesn’t do that for a living. The two microscopes, on the other hand, are entirely in keeping with a career in science.
*** My actual book catalogue is over there --> under my primary pseudonym of Jules Jones. This profile exists because each pseudonym has to have a profile of its own under current GoodReads architecture. I'm not duplicating the entries over here, because that would be a lot of time I could be spending reading instead.
This short novella will work for all those who enjoy a bit of office sex and kink. It clearly falls into the category of writing described as PWP (Plot? What plot?). Flynn's mind is on one thing only - sex. All the time. And his new boss. Mingle the two and you get some of the classics you would expect - sexual fantasies about the boss, wanking in a lonely toilet (fantasising about the boss), giving the boss a BJ in his office when everyone is gone, and... wanking on the boss's office desk, even down to
If there is no subtlety to my review, may I say that this probably reflects 'A Collusion With Reality' perfectly. If you are happy to accept this novella for what it is and not look for anything 'more' (like feelings or a plot or character development), if you're in the mood for just a bit of sex, you will be fine and probably enjoy it. If that is not your scene - don't go there.
Only redeeming features from my POV - this is well written and the book cover is rather tempting.

:-O !!! That was m/m erotica. *blush* oops, didn't know that when I picked it up
psst - I loved it. Ha!
It's super short and honestly, reads more like the first chapter of book than a stand-alone novella. It's a good beginning for a fun, potentially BDSM, Office Romance.

A Collision with Reality- In Like Flynn book one is very short, pure erotica, not much storyline and ends very abruptly. Seeing as its book one, I assume more will be written.
I would recommend holding off reading until the series is complete. Hopefully the author starts to add a storyline. Right now it's cheesy porn.
“Collision with Reality” is super-short with no story at all. It’s gets over just when the collision with reality actually happens. I knew going in that it was short but I expected more dirty heat or a little more than the few pages I got.
The blurb says it all. Flynn’s fantasy of doing dirty stuff to his new boss remains not so anonymous when his said boss confronts and blackmails him to make his fantasy come true. In Dom’s words: “Put up or shut up”. So Flynn has no other choice but to get down on his knees and pleasure his boss with the suit on, kinky!!! So, yeah basically for the first part, Flynn’s imagination goes crazy and then in the next half he really finds himself on his knees living his fantasy.
I felt that the heat was more profound in Flynn’s imagination than during the actual deed. This story was not that dirty as I thought*pouts* I wanted a little more of what happens next, but just at that time, the story was brutally cut short.
This is a very short story that seems to lead toward the idea of more encounters to come in the future between Flynn and Dom.
I like short stories but sometimes in their brevity, the scene is incomplete or hard to picture. The very first part of the book confused me about where Flynn was when he finally started interacting on his message board. One minute he was at work and then somehow he was at home but I didn't know that for some time. I even went back to re-read to see if I missed anything. Fantasizing and masturbating at work is a big difference to fantasizing and masturbating in front of your personal computer in your private living room and sets the tone much differently.
Short, porn without plot, really meant just for erotic tantalizing. I am all for that kind of work. I read a lot of it if the price is right, but it still has to actually be a fully realized PWP to make it a great erotic short. This one is erotic, but started off with my confusion so I didn't have enough time to re-immerse into the fantasy and embrace the eroticism.
Good, but really, with some critical beta reading and effective editorial coaching, it could have been a lot stronger.

This is a super short, porn without plot. I like porn without plot, and I liked this story. Flynn is fantasizing about Dom, his new boss. He’s chatting in an anonymous chat group about all the dirty things he wants to do to Dom. Little does he know, Dom is part of the group and it’s not hard to figure out that the discussion is about him, and therefore who is the one doing the talking. Dom confronts Flynn one day after work and gives him the option that he can either “put up or shut up”. He either puts up, and plays out what he’s been fantasizing publicly or he shuts up and never talks about Dom on the boards again. If he does, Dom will go to HR about him. So Flynn gladly acts out his fantasy. Dom even has some surprises for Flynn.
This is basically one small scene from a larger story so you are not going to get any kind of background on either of these guys, but you aren’t meant to. This isn’t so much a slice of their life, but more so a slice of a scene. A really hot sex scene. When it ended, I very much wanted it to go on so I could find out how things progressed between them. I think this is a great prequel for a full-length story. I’d like to see more with these two.

Looks like Flynn got caught in a chat room talking about his new boss.....Dominic, or Dom as he liked to tease. Flynn had a thing for his boss and not only had fantasies but talked about them in a chat forumn with other people. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, Dom just might have been following. Of course, I did think it was a little far fetched, because there are billions of chat forumns around and who's to say they found the exact one as each other and knew who he was talking about... but he did, so... one of those fantasies got to play out after hours. It isn't a romantic short story, just a hookup between boss and employee... while it was hot, it was over after the one encounter but gave way to maybe see more from these two at a later time. The cover was hot and the steaminess factor was pretty steamy. I enjoyed it, for a smutty, short read. 3.5 for me!
Erotica is not my genre, and this one is pure erotica, no feelings implied. Not right now, anyway, and I want to know what happens next, because I think if I knew more about Flynn and Dom I would enjoy the story more than I actually did.
I need to connect with the characters but "A collision With reality" is so short I couldn't do it, and it's a shame because it has the potential. If you like short and quick reads, you will enjoy yourself with this one.
Even if this is a very short story, it's well written and full of dirty talk (or I must say dirty thoughts since basically all the story is developed in Flynn's imagination)
I will read the next one, of course I will, I'm looking forward to know more about the main characters because I have to say that the hookup was over practically when it started, and I wanted more!

A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words Review An Alisa Review:
A Collision with Reality by Storm Duffy
Rating: 3 stars out of 5
This story wasn’t a romance, but that isn’t what I was expecting either. Flynn lets out his fantasies online thinking that no one will ever know. He continues and when he mentions a different coworker his new boss knows exactly who has been making the comments.
I could feel how cocky Flynn was, thinking that he wouldn’t have anything to worry about with his posts. Flynn is blindsided when Dom confronts him, but gets the opportunity to play out his fantasies. I liked Dom putting the experience in perspective to thin Flynn in the end. I’m interested to read more in this series to see what else Flynn gets up to.
Cover art by Natasha Snow is nice and gives great visuals of the characters.
A Collision with Reality is a short story that is mostly erotica with a slight plot set against social media. We begin with Flynn being introduced to his new boss, Dominic, or Dom, as he is later called, for good reason. Flynn has immediate fantasies of what he can do for and with his Dom... er, his new boss. When those fantasies begin to come true in some after office hours hanky panky it becomes almost more than Flynn might have wished for. The cause of his collision with reality is Flynn has been documenting his fantasies on a chat board that Dom has been following, recognizing even Flynn's username because of the details of the office that Flynn has included. A fun, very hot, short read with a bit of a cliffhanger ending that leads us to the next story in the series of shorts. Something to look forward to, for sure.
This is so incredibly short it isn't a book its just a scene. There's no real story or plot, it's pure erotica. Not that it claims to be anything other than what it is, and it's certainly hot. The writing is good, the characters are engaging and I enjoyed it but it's so very short that it's difficult to feel much of anything.
It has potential but needs some work.

Ha, Ha this is a book that is best described as careful what you wish for. Or in Flynn's case careful what you fantasize about and post on a blog, anonymously or otherwise. You never know who might be reading it.
Flynn has some very elaborate fantasies about his new boss Dom. He has no problem with sharing these fantasies on an anonymous blog where no one knows who you are or who you are talking about. The problem Flynn has though is reality is about to bite him in the butt considering his new boss Dom frequents the same chat room/blog and has figured out that Flynn is not only the person writing these fantasies but he also talking about Dom.
So what will Dom do? Well the only thing he can do, confront Flynn about it. Remind him of the company rules and have Flynn either "put up or shut up" about his fantasies pertaining to Dom. Now the question is, will Flynn have the guts to live out his fantasies or will he be to scared and walk away and leave the fantasies as they should be, in his mind.
This was a good quick read but it was very well put together. This is only book one in this short story series so I definitely look forward to seeing what kind of trouble Flynn will land himself into next and if him and Dom will end up together at some point or if it will only be strictly office play. Storm Duffy definitely got my attention with this book and I look forward to the next book in this series.
Was given this galley copy for free for an open and honest review
I've read a lot of stories lately that promise to be hot and fun and suggest a plot. Sadly, most of them have let me down and been nothing but porn with no plot, no attempt at a plot, and absolutely full to the brim with sex scenes.
This one, thankfully, is not that. Yes, it's mostly all about sex. But it works. There's great writing, a really good attempt at a proper plot, full, well explored characters, and the right amount of attention to detail and description. Sure, Flynn is a hopped up office worker who basically salivates over any cute guy who passes, but there is some really nice chemistry between him and Dominic, right from the start, well before there's any contact. And I like that most of the sex stuff was just Flynn fantasising about Dom, and there was only one actual scene between them. That was all a book of this length needs. And it left room for all that great exploration of character and chemistry, with enough plot to make me want to read more.
I'd certainly be interested in reading more of this duo.
Had I known this was the start of a serial, I probably would have waited to read it. It’s classified as a short story but it’s shorter than that so I’m assuming there will be several more episodes.
It’s hot-ish…again the potential for a steamy relationship is there but we don’t really get to see it started before the story is over. We don’t really get to know anything about either character other than Dominic is probably a Dom and Flynn is probably a sub.
You definitely have to suspend reality to live the fantasy but it might be worth it to see what happens between these two. There was a hint of a potential ménage which could prove interesting. I will probably wait until there are a few more books out before picking this series back up.
If you’re looking for quick and naughty with no romantic entanglements, then A Collision with Reality is for you. This story has all the makings for a setup that could be turned into a longer story, but just gives us a glimpse at the introduction of Dominic and Flynn and their initial interactions…but it’s enough to steam things up for any reader.
Personally, I had a hard time connecting with either main character…but I think that’s more due to the very short length of the story. I’m hoping that we’ll see more of these characters in the future because this really is a good start to something that could be much longer. 3 stars for A Collision with Reality, and this is meant only for readers 18+ for adult language and M/M sexual content.

2.5* This is a short and filthy little read. Flynn has been online, discussing the things he'd like to do to his new boss, the aptly named Dom. Thinking that no-one would ever be able to work out who he is, he doesn't hold back on the details of his fantasies but little does he realise that his boss has read every word, until he finds himself in Dom's office after work.
Going into this, I knew it was a short story but really, it was over before it managed to get up and running. This is book one in the series but reads like a chapter and came to an abrupt ending. It has so much potential if only it had been expanded upon. I'd happily read more but will wait till the whole series is out before doing so.
Anyone that reads the blurb and has a look at the page count knows this is going to be short, m/m erotica. And that's what it delivers. Wishing it were longer, or sweeter is a pointless exercise, a bit like picking up a vegetarian dish and then complaining that there's no meat. It is what it is and Storm Duffy did a good job. Flynn writes naughty things about what he'd like to do with his boss. The boss finds out, and blackmails him into 'putting up'. Flynn is more than happy to oblige. On his knees.
This book was provided by the author via IndiGo Marketing & Design in exchange for an honest review. This was a delicious, perfectly-sized bite of fun. There was enough story so that it wasn't just some porn scene, and it made me want to read what else is coming later on without ending on a cliffhanger. I have nothing but good things to say about the writing and the story.
