I am just imagining the new writers Dorison & Y.Sente sitting in a writer room one-upping each other over the absurd complexity of this new Aniel arc and how very clever they are to have 800 plot layers going on at the same time. And meanwhile our art legend Rosinski is sitting in a chair, sipping coffee, having a cig, and reminiscing tiredly about the better days of this graphic novel series. (You can almost see it in the art? His colours are oustanding as ever but the faces grow more and more approximate lol. He's done)

Sigh. Thank goodness the story quality comes back with Fred Vignaux

От почти двадесет години следя с несекващ интерес приключенията на Торгал, синът на звездите.

Поредицата е изключително занимателна, добре написана и със страхотен арт. Момчето в мен очаква с трепет всеки нов албум - честит ми първи юни! :)

Много се надявам, някой ден да я видим издадена и на български.

P.S. При проявен интерес, серията за викингите и техния свят може да се намери на английски.

Van Hamme avait souhaité faire évoluer la série en mettant un Jolan au centre de l'histoire (suite logique amorcée depuis l'excellente "Marque des Bannis")...
Senté est passé à côté avec son cycle oriental, Dorison, lui, semble vouloir revenir à la période des Archers...
Une constante dans ces 2 approches, l'oubli de ce qui faisait une des forces de la série : l'évolution de ses personnages; Thorgal passant d'orphelin à père de famille vieillissant, Aaricia d'innocente princesse viking à mère de famille affirmée, Jolan d'enfant chétif à adolescent débrouillard... Tout cela occulté depuis cette reprise par des rebondissements alambiqués, des personnages stagnants et des sentiments exagérés (mais où est le courageux Thorgal d'une fidélité sans borne pour Aaricia, l'astucieux Jolan ?!)
Bref, encore un volume de Thorgal se révélant une déception heureusement sauvé par le style graphique adopté par Rosinski. Enfin, fin de cycle (heureusement).

Grzegorz Rosiński sigue en estado de gracia con sus dibujos de estilo pictórico, haciendo de cada viñeta un cuadro. Sin embargo el guión, siendo entretenido, no está a la altura de lo que fuera antaño la serie. Deberían ir pensando en darle un digno descanso

Kolejny scenarzysta, kolejna wizja Thorgala. Podróż na bliski wschód przedstawia nową paletę barw dla serii, w której kadry wyglądają jak nigdy wcześniej. Wizualnie majstersztyk.
Odkręcana jest machinacja Sente, w której Jolan miał być nowym głównym bohaterem, więc wszystkie karty opowiadają o tym jak Thorgal ratuje świat. Może raczej kraj. Chyba tylko syna. Siebie? Autor każe bohaterowi zwątpić w słuszność swoich przekonań, nazywać się wikingiem (CO!?) a w końcu dać mu na barki konsekwencje wypadków zza dawnych czasów, na które i tak nie miał wpływu. Bo w końcu przekichane miał u samych bogów. Ot, pomiata sobie Thorgalem jak workiem treningowym.
Z jednej strony fajnie powitać starego znajomego w głównej roli, z drugiej strony intryga przypomina konflikt w krainie Qa (do której nawet są odniesienia). Znów mamy fanatyczny kult, niebezpieczne moce, latające okręty i kogoś spokrewnionego z Thorgalem po środku tego wszystkiego.

Tęsknię za historiami na jeden zeszyt.

In the city of Bagdad Thorgal tries to save Aniel and the world. An army of crusaders is laying siege and the inhabitants are terrorised by a group of red wizards. Not the most memorable story with a Kylo Ren-ish showdown between Thorgal and his son.

I actually enjoyed this. With a new writer, this is as neat a conclusion to the previous albums as I can imagine. Captures religious fervour and madness quite well.

"Thorgal" niewątpliwie jest jedną z tych serii dzięki którym czytam w ogóle komiksy. Te albumy które udało się wydać w Polsce jeszcze w latach 90-tych czytałem po kilkadziesiąt razy, a powrót serii na polski rynek na przełomie wieków był chyba najbardziej wyczekiwaną przeze mnie premierą komiksową. Niestety, po kilku słabszych albumach (ostatni który naprawdę mi się podobał to nr 23 "Klatka"), okazało się że oryginalny scenarzysta Jean Van Hamme wycofuje się z serii wraz z numerem 29. Pewnym promykiem nadziei było mianowanie nowym scenarzystą Yves'a Sente, który nawiązał już wcześniej udaną współpracę z Grzegorzem Rosińskim przy "Zemście Hrabiego Skarbka". Zmiana scenarzysty nie pomogła najpierw głównym bohaterem serii został Jolan (czego nie rozumiem, bo można mu było dać własną serię), a potem choć Thorgal wrócił na pierwszy plan to pojawia się story arc z Czerwonymi Magami, który delikatnie mówiąc nie jest przełomem w historii tej serii, a wydany w 2013 roku "Kah-Aniel" był ostatnim albumem jaki przeczytałem z głównej serii.
Wczoraj, w bibliotece, zobaczyłem na półce "Szkarłatny Ogień", pomyślałem, dobra spróbuje, może kolejna zmiana scenarzysty wyszła serii na dobre.
Po rozstaniu z Sentem, zadanie spięcia wątków spadło na Xaviera Dorrisona, znanego i bardzo sprawnego scenarzystę, choć niestety i on nie podołał. Nie wiem czy jest to kwestia punktu w jakim odziedziczył historię, ale ze story arcu Czerwonych Magów, ani postaci biorących w nim udział nie wykrzesał wiele więcej, za to zaserwował kilka odgrzewanych kotletów.
Również graficznie nie jest to najbardziej udany album w karierze Rosińskiego, szczerze mówiąc również w tej warstwie był to męczące, choć raczej nie jest to problem formy rysownika, lecz raczej tego co miał do namalowania.

Degna ed epica conclusione della collana. Finalmente Thorgal trova Aniel. Ma suo figlio sembra ormai appartenere a tutt’altra realtà rispetto al villaggio vichingo dove avrebbe voluto crescerlo. La storia è tesa, ben orchestrata, veloce (magari in alcuni passaggi un po’ troppo), ma il valore del volume son le splendide tavole pittoriche di Rosinski (per quanto penalizzate dalla riduzione di dimensioni del volume rispetto al cartonato di riferimento).

Odrobinę chaotyczny zeszyt pod względem fabularnym - jednak atmosfera jest niesamowita, tak, jak rysunki Rosińskiego - jeśli ktokolwiek mógł namalować piekło wojny i szkarłatnego ognia, to on.

Enfin ce cycle est terminé, qu'est-ce que c'était laborieux et confus !!! Introduire la quête de Jolan pendant 2 tomes pour en expédier la résolution dans une série parallèle ?? Série parallèle qui ramène à la vie l'antagoniste majeur de la série en ruinant complètement son moment de bravoure du tome 28 ?? Si elle revient en vie d'ailleurs, vu son état d'esprit au moment de sa mort, c'est elle qui aurait dû aller sauver Aniel ! Et tout cet arc de réincarnation, d'enfant-roi etc finalement, ce n'est qu'une redite de l'arc Jolan-Hurukan du pays de Qâ, en moins bien, et qui aura nécessité trois fois plus d'albums... Pareil, faire douter Thorgal, pourquoi pas, mais si c'est pour qu'il trompe Aaricia avec une esclave qui se trouve être finalement une antagoniste mais qui finalement redevient gentille à la fin, quel intérêt ? Il est déjà passé par tout ça avec Kriss de Valnor. Il ne manquerait plus qu'il ait un enfant avec Salouma mais que cet enfant soit la réincarnation de je ne sais quel dieu et c'est reparti... (D'ailleurs le traitement d'Aaricia dans la série Louve est tout aussi catastrophique.) Des personnages de Van Hamme il ne reste plus grand chose. Tout le propos de la série était d'échapper autant que possible aux volontés des dieux, à la cruauté des hommes, mais ici tous les personnages en deviennent les instruments : Jolan qui devient chef de guerre et hérault d'un demi-dieu, Aniel qui est la rékncarnation d'un grand sorcier, Louve qui sauve Asgard... Et au milieu Thorgal et Azricia, complètement paumés, qui ne sont plus que les ombres de ce qu'ils étaient. Vraiment, dans toute cette reprise de la série par Sente, y a rien qui va, j'ai lu cet album vraiment à la va-vite et arriver à la fin de cet arc calamiteux est un soulagement.

Pfff... Je zou zo gaan denken dat Thorgal over zijn hoogtepunt heen is... :'-(

Dit album is één langgerekte slachtpartij met gruwelijke terechtstellingen en bloed dat van alle muren druipt. Dat Rosinski zijn schilderwerken dan ook nog eens overgiet met de kleur rood, maakt de ervaring nog onaangenamer dan ze al is. Hij mag van mij trouwens stoppen met die schilderobsessie van hem, het maakt een album totaal onleesbaar. :-(

Nee, mijn favoriete stripheld is bij deze van zijn sokkel gevallen.
Gelukkig zijn er nog de spin-offs die voorlopig nog het lezen waard zijn...
