Drama High #2

Second Chance

Rate this book
Back for another dose of high drama, Compton's sassiest, Jayd Jackson, is about to discover it really is a different world when she starts dating South Bay High's finest white boy. . .

All Jayd Jackson wants is a drama-free year at South Bay High, a.k.a. Drama High. But it doesn't seem she's going to get it. It's only the second week of Junior year and already, Misty, her nemesis, has almost gotten her killed after instigating a fight between Jayd and KJ's girlfriend, Trecee. But it goes with the territory. She's a fire child, and granddaughter to Lynne Mae Williams--Mama--and Mama says that means the drama will follow Jayd wherever she goes. Even so, Jayd just wants to chill, still hoping Junior year can carry on, drama-free. And with Misty and KJ reportedly "hanging," Jayd is ready to move on. But the brother won't stop blowing up Jayd's cellie, and the text-messages keep coming; and the message is KJ wants Jayd back bad.

But Jayd couldn't care less. She's got a new man to kick-it with now--a half-Jewish white boy from Palos Verdes whose parents are loaded with a capital "L." And Jeremy Weiner's no ordinary white boy--he listens to East Coast rap, he's got a sweet ride, and he's got it bad for Jayd Jackson. But no one at South Bay High will just let a sistah be happy. Misty's back to her usual foolishness, KJ's all over her jock, and the notoriously anti-black teacher Mrs. Bennett is tripping. Jeremy's got her totally sprung, but she's going to have to rely on her brains--and some of Mama's magic, of course--if she's going to survive another week at Drama High.

L. Divine is at the top of her game in this superb follow-up to the power-packed Drama The Fight . Look for the next juicy installment, Jayd's Legacy , coming soon.

I chose to read this book cus, I had already read the first drama high book and I wanted to see what happends next.
This book is about a girl named Jayd Jackson, who wants nothing more then a drama-free year at South Bay High, a.k.a. Drama High. But it doesn't seem she's going to get it. It's only the second week of school and already, Misty, her enemy, has almost gotten her beat up or maybe even killed after instigating a fight between Jayd and KJ's girlfriend, Trecee. But, that’s nothing new Missy is known for starting drama and causing problems..Even so, Jayd just wants to chill, still hoping Junior year can carry on, drama-free. And with the rumors of Misty and KJ supposidly "hanging out," Jayd is ready to move on. But Kj won't stop blowing up Jayd's cellie, and the text-messages keep coming; and the message is clear: KJ wants Jayd back bad.
And, once she starts datting white boy named Jeremy everyone is all of a sudden concerned about her business because he doesn’t exactly have the best reputation. And, on top of that she has to deal with a teacher who is racist and gives her a hard time and once she takes it too the school bored it all gets turned back around on her.
I thought this book was okay, some of the parts were kind of boring.

KJ, Jayd's ex boyfriend keeps creating drama in her life and he want her back but Jayd has a new man. He is a white boy, Jeremy Weiner. KJ doesn't like the fact that she is dating a white boy. KJ keeps thinking that they will get back together.

The character, KJ, is too much because he keeps trying to get Jayd back but she doesn't want him. If I were Jayd, I would ignore KJ too because he cheated on her. I learned while reading that some guy are jerks and they would do anything to get in a girl's pants.

Jayd agreed to meet Jeremy at Mrs. Bennett's class but Jayd hates her because she is racist to her. Ms. Bennett tells Jayd to come in and she was talking to her in the most racist tone. Ms. Toni told Jayd that she could hold a hearing with the principal.

This book reminds me of the time my friend told me that a teacher doesn't like her because she is a different race. If I were Jayd, I would sue Ms. Bennett because it wouldn't be fair if she didn't get punished for what she did. I thought the author wrote this book to show how there are still racist people around the world.

Jeremy, Jayd's boyfriend gets caught selling drugs and he has to go to a hearing. Everyone thinks he would go to jail. Jayd baked some cupcakes and thinks that it would help him. It kind of helped him because he was free.

This book reminds me of an article I read in the newspaper because it was about kids doing drugs. If I were Jayd, I would break up with Jeremy because I wouldn't want to be with a guy that sells drugs. The character, Jeremy, shouldn't be doing drugs because there is no point. He doesn't need the money.

Jeremy and Jayd are at the mall and Jeremy buys her a whole new outfit and a golden bangle from Tiffanys. Then KJ comes out of nowhere and tells Jeremy how they almost kissed. KJ and Jeremy get mad and start fighting over Jayd but Jayd only wants Jeremy.

This book reminds me of another book because there were two boys fighting over a girl. If I were KJ, I would leave Jayd alone because he cheated on her and she doesn't want him anymore. The character, KJ, is a jerk because he broke up with Jayd just to get into Trecee's pants.

My favorite part of the book is when Jayd starts to date Jeremy. Because I feel that they make a very nice couple. Also my favorite part of the book is when misty starts to hate on Jayd's relationship with Jeremy. I recommend this book to people who like to read about drama and can relate to drama.

Creative response..

Jayd i think that you are a very smart and pretty girl. I think the way you solved your situations in the book was mature. But why did all of your friends try and break you and jeremy up? Was it because of his skin color? I think that was very selfish. Why couldn't they just be happy that you was growing from you and Aj`s break up. How did you and misty become to hate each other? Threw out the book i noticed that misty was on your case the whole time. Talking about you to people, what's up with that? I think the things she was doing made her look like a child. You wouldn't even let Jeremy into your life because you was scared of what misty might say about you around the school. Also Jayd what was you thinking when you hooked up with aj? He seems like the type of dude that would disrespect a girl. I wish i could have known more about the type of relationship you guys had. Last i would like to say that your character in the book is the best. She stands out threw out the whole book, not because she was the main character but because she had two sides to her. A good and bad side, but its almost like you didn't want to beh the bad jayd you wanted to be the good jayd a different person.

Book shout out.

I like the way all of the characters had there own little problem in the book. Like they all had a different personality.
I also like the way the author put the all of the diolouge in the story. There were some parts in the book that wouldn't even be great unless the diologue was there.
Last i liked all of the problems that was introduced into the story. One they began they wouldn't end. There were problems that were coming into the story that i wouldn't have thought was real. But it was almost like it was problems in the real world.

I loved the book Drama High Second chance because i can really relate to it. If you are a high school student it shouldn't be hard to relate to it. The author opened the book with the ending of the first one because Drama High is a series of books. the books goes through high school life with the main character Jayde. Jayde is a Junior that attends South Bay high. All Jayde wants is a drama free school year, but wth her enemy going there it won't happen. Jayde gets into a fight with this girl named Trecee all because of Misty who instigated the whole thing. The fight was over this boy named K.J.
Jayde just wants to chill a nd lay low and hope that the rest of her year will be without the drama, bt with her enemy Misty and her Ex boyfriend K. J. hanging out she just wants to move on. But, it seems as K. J. wants her back because he keeps blowing up er cell phone and sending text messages making it obvious that he isnt over her. Jayde doesnt really car though. She is intrested in someone new. This new boy goes by the name of Jeremy who is a rich white boy who lives in Palos Verdes nd is really spoiled. The boy is also really into Jayde to. But no-one in South Bay high wants to deal with the fact that this hite boy Jeremy is intrested in Jayde because they areso different. So everyone even teachers ar trying to pull them apart but jayde isn't having that.
so Jayde decides to get advie from her mom and her grandmother so she can survive another drama filled week at the school. When she gets advice from them they tell her to rely on her good brains because they know she can make the right decision for her self. So Jayde decides she is going to date Jeremy no matter what anyone thinks because he has really got her sprung and she has him the same way. Jayde likes him because he is no ordinary white boy, he listens to her kind of music and he likes her for who she is and he cares for her alot. but, for Jayde and Jeremy to take another step foward she has to get K. J. to move on. K. J. decides he isn't over Jayde and wants to win her back but, he see's that his task might be hard. So, K.J. and Jayde's enemy Misty decide to make rumors about Jeremy to get Jayde to leave him but Jayde is smarter than that so she continues to date Jeremy and their relationship gets stronger.

Drama high: Second Chance, the next installment to Drama High: The Fight is back again with Jayd Jackson. After a rough start off to her first week as a junior in South Bay High, Jayd has already been in the middle of some frama, unvoluntarily. Her ex-boyfriend, by his will, not hers, has been trying to get back with her after seeing how crazy Trecee - the girl who he dumped Jayd for - was. But Jayd doesn't want to hear any of it because he's all into the drama which she tries her hardest to avoid, and plus she's found a new man. Jeremy Weiner, one of the many white boys from her predominately white high school is like a match made in heaven to her. He listens to rap, has a better car than all the other students who go there (including the teachers)and he also is crushing on Jayd. So what could be the problem with that? Well it seems like everybody is against them being together for the insignificant fact being that he's black and she's white. And on top of that, Jayd's ex- bestfriend Misty is still spreading rumors about her trying to make surer that nobody likes her, including KJ who she is trying to keep all to her self. Get ready for another week at Drama High.

The second chance by L. Divine was a good and entertaining series. L. Divine did a good job.
It’s well written and it’s phenomenal page.

This series was about Jayd refuses to give her second chance to KJ because their previous drama with Trecee and Misty. KJ didn’t want Jayd moves on with Jeremy. He needs to pay attention to Misty’s aggressive and jealous. I love how the connections and communication went well for Jayd and Jeremy.

I can’t wait to read Jayd’s Legecy.

Good read

This book is not only interesting but, visually gripping. When i first started with this book, I couldn't put it down. I would read from when i got home to when i had to sleep, and some days more that that. It's one of those books were the author has made the book more like a movie than a book and that's why i put 5 starts.

I'm really impressed by how L. Divine handles ALL the issues (interracial dating, Compton vs. South Bay, feminism vs. womanism, and trying to explain black hair to white people) with an intersectional deftness that would impress bell hooks.

Also, there's kissing.

Jayd is trying to do her hair, but she keeps getting interrupted. The first call is from Jeremy wanting to hang out. After convincing him she really is doing her hair, they make a date to go to a party. Then Jayd’s dad calls inviting to her Uncle (Willard) and his new wife’s bbq. She doesn’t really want to go but lets him convince her by saying she can invite her girlfriends and he’ll not only pick her up after work but take her back to her grandmothers.

KJ texts Jayd at work wanting to talk about what happened. He wants to get back together. She ignores it and instead calls Jeremy about their date that night. Before he mentioned wanting to go to Byron’s party. Now he says he’d rather go to a movie and take a walk on the pier. Jayd knows her friends will be there (and she promised her girls, but she doesn’t really want to run into KJ or Misty. They first go to the Coffee Bean and over coffee talk about Jeremy’s parents, and his religious beliefs (he’s an atheist). Then he takes her to meet some of his surfer friends that are just lounging on the beach. It’s the most peaceful Jay’d felt all week and she starts to fall for Jeremy.

Jayd, Nellie, Mickey, and Misty have in-school suspension. Jayd and have to share a room. Misty tries to get in Jayd’s business about her date with Jeremy, but Jayd quickly lets her know she’s dead to her. Jay’d’s “Mama,” tells her if dating Jeremy makes her happy then date him. KJ then shows up at her “Mama’s” house trying to get her to go out with him again. But she tells him she’s moved on. He tells her to think about everyone is rooting for them to get back together. But Jayd is good right now on the drama that comes with her ex.

Jeremy calls that night and invites Jayd to his house for dinner but she tells her him Grandmother is stricter than her mother and she’s cooking. So, they’ll have to make it another time. Jayd realizes it’s now getting serious. . KJ sends her a good night text. She talks to Nellie before going to bed who teases her about missing the party and having Jungle Fever. She thinks she should give KJ another chance, but then again Jeremy is fine and has money. Jayd and Jeremy continue to hang out and get closer despite their friends having to adjust. One day while hanging out at lunch, Jeremy excuses himself to talk to a guy. Jayd sees him handing the guy something that looks like a cigarette. Unfortunately, school security sees it too, but Jayd can’t warm him in time. Jeremy is taken off in handcuffs.

When they talk later, he tells her they found a joint on him and he’s been suspended for two days. But he’s not worried his lawyers have got this. They’ll get him off on account they didn’t have permission to search his locker. Jayd decides totakes her grandmother’s magic cookbook and whips up a batch of get-out-of-jail cupcakes topped with a little never leave me dust. Now, she just has to think of a way to get them to Jeremy,

On the way to school, Jayd finds out that Misty is the one that got Jeremy busted. , Before class Jayd talks to Jeremy on her phone and he asks her to meet him after school by Mrs. Benette’s room. Jayd can’t stand her but she’s got some homework for Jeremy and she’ll be a character witness in his trial. After school, Mrs. Benett pisses her off (and disrespects her) by saying Jeremy only wants her because he experiments with a new black girl every year. So, she leaves and runs into Misty and kJ. Misty admits she did tell on Jeremy but it was an accident. Security must have overheard her talking to her mom. She goes back inside and runs into her teacher (Mrs. Toni0 who doesn’t like Jeremy because she thins he’s a spoiled white boy. She ends up venting to her about Misty and Mrs. Benette (who has a racist attitude to Mrs. Toni also because she’s the only black teacher) she suggests that Jayd turn in a letter of all the things Mrs. Benett has said and she’ll back her up.

Jeremy is cleared. Since he can’t hang out with her after school, he invites her to have dinner with his family te next night. Jayd doesn’t really want to go there because it’s too soon. He’s upset by this and says it’s just dinner. So she agrees. Jayd meets Jeremy’s family. She notices that his brothers are with black girls After this Jade questions whether Jeremy wants her just because she’s black. He admits to being into black girls. When he wonders where this is coming from she tells him about Mrs, Benette and that she’s decided to write a letter of complaint. Jeremy thinks it’s a waste of time. She’s been around too long and has to many connections.

Misty is clearly into KJ and bothered by the fact that Jayd choose Jeremy over KJ. Mrs. Toni runs into Jayd and tells her she already set up a meeting to talk about Mrs. Bennette for her. She also hints on the Wiener boys' reputations, Jayd tells Jeremy about the meeting but again he doesn’t think it’ll do any good, Jayd asks why Mr.Ioni is so against his brothers and he says it’s because at some point they always get caught doing something. But he wants to be his own man and not be judged for what his brothers have done. The subject comes up of it being easy to love people when they love you back. Jeremy wants to know if Jayd loves him and wants her to be his girlfriend. Jayd isn’t ready to hop back into another relationship. Later, Jayd’s grandma surprisingly agrees with Mrs.Bennette. She says white men usually just date black girls out of curiousity. Grandma’s friend gives her a warning of caution. You never know what’s in a man’s head.

Mickey and Nettie on the day of the trial try to get in Jayds head about some girl named Tanya that he use to date. Misty saw them in the mall, but Jayd isn’t bothered, In the meeting, (the Vice Principal?) has already heard Mrs. Bennett’s side (that Jayd was aggressive toward her and doesn’t want her anywhere near her classroom). She makes it seem like she was the one that came into her room. Then he says there’s no proof there was racism. Again in class, Jeremy asks Jayd about being his girlfriend. Again she says she’s not ready. He says he’s not going anywhere but he won’t ask again. Tanya comes up to him flirting. Jayd doesn’t like it. He tells she can’t have it both ways. Jay’s girls are ticked she’s not hanging with them. KJ’s demanding that she get back with him, but Jayd lets him know she’s SO over her. Jayd’s grandma makes her a Grandma makes her a honey-scented powder to be used to be sweeter to KJ and Jeremy to ease up on their pressure.
At school, Misty has been talking about Jayd and Jeremy having sex. KJ tells Jayd Misty is out to get her because she thinks she’s playing him. He tells her he loves her, he won’t pressure her with sex, and she’ll be his only girl. He even tries to kiss her, but Jayd steps back. So, she has to remind him she’s taken. He tells her this isn’t over. Nellie tells her she should make KJ chase her and for humbling himself she should give him another chance. She tells her when KJ calls her this afternoon pick up the phone. She admits that yes she really does not want to see her talking to Jeremy. Misty gets in her face about selling out and hurting him.

Jeremy takes Jayd on a shopping spree for their 3-week anniversary, but are interrupted when KJ appears. KJ and Jeremy almost get in a fight over Jayd. Later, her grandmother tells her instead of pushing off KJ’s advances maybe she should humor him and see where it goes. KJ texts but Jayd has decided it’s time to make things official with Jeremy. On their date tho, KJ dedicates an Al Green song on the radio to Jayd and it turns her off that Jeremy doesn’t react. Her friends tell her to call KJ and see where they stand. KJ shows up at Jayd’s job and tries to get her back yet again, but she’s smart and tells him she’s just a challenge to him. He tells her when she’s ready to come back to him let him know. She ends up saying yes to being Jeremy’s girl. Later she wonders if she and Jeremy will go to homecoming. She’s kinda upset her friend Nellie was voted by Chance to be the Homecoming Princess.

My Thoughts: Since I didn’t really have a lot of comments for this review I’ll just answer some of the discussion questions. Basically, it was just a whole lot of relationship drama.
1). In Second Chance, Jayd crosses the line to date a white boy. What would you have done in Jay’d situation? Would you have tried to make it work with KJ because he’s black or would you have done what Jayd did? (Done what Jayd did).

2. Have you or someone you know ever dated a white boy? Under what circumstances would you or would you not date a white boy?(I did once talk to and could have seriously considered being with someone white but because it was online thing it turned out to be a letdown. If he treated me well and showed me something different, supported me, encouraged me, believed in my dreams, and helped to make them a reality. I would date someone white. Under no circumstances, if he fooled around with drugs would I date someone white or black

3, Does race really make a difference in relationships? Could you be just as happy with a white significant other than a black one? (Not to me it doesn’t. If a white significant other can treat me better than the black ones I’ve dealt with over the years than I absolutely could be just as happy. Even more happy.”

4. Who treats Jayd better? Is how each boy treats Jayd because of his race? (Jeremy treated Jayd better. I really can’t say it’s because of race. Not all white males treat their women good and not all black men treat their women like crap so I think it’s more about upbringing. What kind of examples did KJ’s and Jeremy’s father set?

5.Is it brave to date someone of the opposite race? (I think that dating ANYONE involves a certain amount of bravery. If you’ve been hurt before it takes courage to make yourself vulnerable to let trust in. Putting yourself out there will always involve bravery.

6. Are Jayd’ss friends supportive of her decision to date Jeremy? (Nellie isn’t Mickey is). Would your friends support you if you decided to date someone of another race? (I think they’d support me if I choose to at this point date anyone at all). Would you be supportive of a friend who decided to date someone of another race? (Yes)

7.Whata do you think of the preference the boy's yin Jeremy’s family seems to have for Black girls? (I don’t really have any feelings about it) Is their wanting to date black girls unusual? (Not really). Should Jayd be careful given Jeremy’s history (YES! Too many times females ignore the signs)
8. Who do you think is better of Jayd Jeremy or KJ (At this point, I won’t say because even though it looks like Jeremy is, its just the second book.)

9. Misty seems to be very protective of KJ and KJ’s hurl feelings over the breakup with Jadyd. Do you think KJ will end up with Misty (No. He just doesn’t seem all that into her. He might sleep with her tho. That I can see). Do you think Misty may be better for KJ than Jay (Yes). Why? (She just seems to care more).

10. Jayd goes up against Mrs. Bennett. Jays says Mrs. Bennett is a racist. Do you agree or was it Mrs. Bennett in her own way was trying to help Jay? (She did kind of come off as racist. My first mind just says yes she is)

Second chance, followed by The Fight is another dose of South Bay High School, which is known as “Drama High School.”This novel tells about the discoveries of a junior , who starts dating South Bay’s finest white boy. Jayd Jackson is Compton’s sassiest girl. Her mom and dad are divorced, but her dad still comes around to visit her from time to time. Jayd lives with her mom in a small apartment in the ghetto. Misty, Jayd’s former best friend is the troublemaker of South Bay High School. In my opinion Misty is an instigator because she starts all the drama, and tries to make it hard for Jayd to have the peaceful junior year she hoped for. The main conflict of the story is that KJ is trying to win Jayd back over Jeremy .
The setting, fits well with this novel. The author uses imagery to describe the places where parts of the story takes place, and to describe things. An example of imagery in the story is,” It shimmers like ocean water in the afternoon sun. I’m basically frying my hair, but I still love the way it smells. Almost like sweet, burnt cantaloupe.”The author uses imagery in the story to appeal to the reader's senses. One of my favorite parts is when the author describes Jeremy’s home when Jayd meets his family. Jeremy‘s family is respectful, and his house is huge. His family is very welcoming to Jayd. One of my least favorite parts in the story is when Jeremy and KJ fight because this makes Jayd confused on who she wants to be with, and what she should do. I want Jayd to be with Jeremy because he is a better person than KJ. I would consider this book a literary merit because it’s subjective, and it focuses on many people‘s values. This book could be relevant to many teenage girls based on the situation or plot of the story. The tone of the story could be many things such as confused, hurt, and scared, but also happy, loving, and caring. I say this because of the good and the bad things that occur in the story .
Personally, I love this novel. I enjoy reading young adult books with drama in them. I can compare to Jayd Jackson in some ways she acts, and handle situations in the story. From my point of view, Jayd is a brave, bossy, and confident girl. She knows how to protect her self without Jeremy and KJ. I also have to remember that the book said Jayd was Compton’ s sassiest girl. Jayd also knows how to handle everything in her own little way.
I like how the author uses figurative language in the story. An example is when it says,“And so far so good, smiling like a Kool-Aid man.” L. Divine, the author uses this simile to describe the way Jayd was smiling when she was thinking about Jeremy in a lovable way. This simile created a mental picture in my mind .All of the figurative language in the story makes the characters and storylines come alive in a reader's mind. The theme or message of the story is, never let anybody’s opinion, or comments affect you and the way you live life. The theme relates to Jayd because of how everyone told her Jeremy wasn’t a good guy , and that she should break up with him. Everyone had their opinion about their relationship but Jayd didn’t let that get to her .
Overall, I give this book five stars. I think anyone who is interested in drama stories would enjoy reading this book. Readers who have read the first book of the series would most likely enjoy reading the rest of the series. Fans of young adult books, fiction,or tough love, would like the details and aspects of the conflict and setting in this story.

Book Review: Second Chance
Title: Second Chance
The publisher of this book is Dafina Books. The author is L.Divine.
This book is a general fiction book about a high school girl named Jayd Jackson. It tells about her life in high school and some of the things she's dealing with. Some things she is dealing with are an enemy, an ex and a new boyfriend. Jayd is a very good student at South Bay High, or some may call it Drama High. Her and her ex Kj are broken up, Jayd has moved on but Kj's still on her line trying to get back with her even after he broke up with her.

Just a couple weeks into the school year there is already drama. Her enemy Misty is already spreading rumors about Jayd and her new boyfriend Jeremy. Their relationship was going well until Jeremy got himself in some trouble. Jayd being the person she is was willing to do whatever she could to help him out of the situation. On top of that Jayd is dealing with a teacher who doesn't like and is racist and who gives her a hard time in class.

I chose to read this because I like books about kids my age because I can relate to the characters and the problems they have. This is a great book. I would definitely recommend this book to High School students because I feel like they would be able to relate to a lot that goes on in this book. This book book could help others in school get through their problems.

This book was really good. To me I felt like I really was there with her when she was going through her times when it was rough. I understand how she felt in that Situation because I felt her pain through the words the author was saying. In the book it was talking about how there is a girl that likes a boy that's a different race and she don't know what people would say when date. She does it anyways and she finds out things about this boy. The main character Jayd is very scared of trying new things but she kind of force herself when don't feel right about a situation. But there are problems that comes along with her descions but she still find a way to figure them out.

This book did not age well. Jayd is smart, intelligent, and Black. She dates Jeremy, a White boy from the wealthy side of the tracks, who turns out to be dealing pot. So of course only a dealer with jungle fever (the author’s words) would be interested in Black girls, and Jayd should consider herself lucky.

Skip this in favor of books that empower Black young women.

This book was lowkey boring and the plot moved slowly. Then in the last 20 pages I realized why I was reading this book: THE PETTY DRAMA. I feel like all the good stuff in the drama high books happen in the last 50 pages but maybe I'm wrong because I've only read 2 of the books. This book is so realistic though!! I love that

DNF not because the writing isn't good but because I am remembering why I didn't like High School. I may pick up this story again when Jayd goes to University.

Read this book when I was like 14?
I devoured it. I enjoyed the book because of Jayd's personality and her amazing chemistry with Jeremy.

Second Chance is the second book to the Drama High series. After the crazy first week of school Jayd had with almost getting into a fight with her ex boyfriends crazy girlfriend Trecee. Things are just starting to get on track shes dating Jeremy and has KJ her ex boyfriend on her back trying to get back togethor with her.
I think this is a text to text because in another Drama High book called Cold As Ice which recently came out Jayds other ex from when she was younger Raheem is jealous of her relationship with Jeremy. Rah still has feelings for Jayd but unlike KJ he has a daughter and the mothr of his kid is on house arrest at his place. Both are jealous of her relationship and think it's an inslt that Jayd who is African American is going out with a white boy, both guys are dog but Rah is a caring dog.
I gave the book five stars becuase it had the perfect dose of drama and comedy. Jayd is street smart and knows how to handle people. Jayd is some one who iss head strong and won't let any man treat her badly or any one in general. With her ancestors she is extremmly powerful and is one not to be played with, she can act likeshe's not from Compton but when it gets down to it she will waste no time beating you down if she needs to.

Second Chance is about Jayd. Jayd is a black girl who goes to a school with a lot of white snooty rich kids. In this school there is a lot of drama. I don't really know where the setting takes place well I mean I know where Jayd is at time to time. Her Internal conflict is weather she should stay with Jeremy her new boy, or go back to KJ her pervious one. Her external conflict is if she should tell KJ that she has moved on and he should deal with it or go back to him.
When I was reading this book i made a text to world connection. When a girl in a tough school with really tight cliques dates a boy in the rich white kid clique there is obviously trouble with everything. then her ex boyfriend usually gangs up on him with his boys and beat the crap out of him.
I would give this book 4 stars because the characters are really funny and good to read about. I wouldn't give this book 5 stars because sometimes i dozed off reading because the conflicts got old and boring. I would recommend this book to any girl who likes to read about drama and different cliques mixing together. But read the 1st book first! (The fight by L. Divine)

Second Chance is a book about a girl named Jayd Jackson. The book takes place at South Bay High. Jayd lives with her grandmother and her mother. She is a girl who is no like all the others. Her main internal struggle is that she is caught between two buys. Her main external struggle is that nobody approves of her being with Jeremy.

During my time reading this book I made a text-to-text connection. There was a part in the book where Jayd's friends didn't agree with Jeremy. That reminded me of the book Masquerade. In Masquerade Shuyler was dating Jack, but her best friend didn't agree with it. Both of them have friends who don't agree. They both learn that not everyone is going to agree with what they do in life and that it's okay.

I would give this book 2 stars. I didn't really like the book. I thought that it was confusing. I did like that it was different from other books I have read in the past. I would recommend this book to someone who wants to try somehing diferent. Also to someone who read the first book.

This book is also very instresting you have to read the 1st book to understand the 2nd and believe me once you start reading your not going to want to stop!
My favorite part in this book is when kj is tryin so hard to get back with Jayd after he broke her heart and she moved on.
What i didnt like about this book is Misty she gets on my nerves because she loves to insteigate...but i mean this is a drama book...but she be messing up the moments you be looking foward to in the book....
I think the 1st book was a little bit better then this book maybe because there was more drama that popped off (happened) but im mean its good to read this book because you get to find out what happened and how more of the drama occurs!
I would also tell anyone if you love drama to read this book because you wont be mad...its worth every second of reading.

Second Chance is Jayd. Jayd is a normal girl who goes south bay high. Jayd has a big internal problem if she go out with her ex boyfriend or her new lover jermey. Her friends also have a problem with her new boyfriend jermy.

I can make a text-totext because it reminds me of a book I had read I had read. Jayd liked someone one but people didn't approve of him. In the book I had read the character was gay but couldn't tell his family.

I gave this book 4 stars. I gave it 4 stars because It was really good like the first one. I would recommend it to people who like drama in their book.

this is a great book. miss Jady is well able to handle all the drama in south bay. mostly all drama come from 'misty' that little spoiled brot. she freaks me out. what i like most about Jayd jackson is that she does not listen to people's opinoin about her new love with jeremy weiner. what happens if a guy leaves u for another girl? from experience, it hurt. its painful. then there he comes to ask for forgiveness. if i was to advice him i would tell him "if there is one dangerous thing, it is when a girl is done with u n ur crap/ shit. no more sweet talk. luv miss jayd.

In "Second Chance" it is about how Jayd is in her junior year and hope

that that everything is drama free. Jayd is dating a whiteboy name KJ

but Misty is messing up their relationship with the Drama with KJ ex-

girlfriend Tracee. Jayd leaves KJ and go out with a nother white boy

name Jeremy who treats Jayd nice. KJ blows up Jayd phone with his

calls and text message , but Jayd just ignore him and don't pay him

attention. I would rate this book as a five because it talks about how

Jayd life is not drama free it is full of drama where she need to get out of.
