I am going through a 'storm' right now and reading a lot of books on divine healing. I was not actually expecting much from this book but it turned out to be one of the best I've read. A lot of theology is packed economically into this small book. I recommend it.

This book, in just a few short days, completely revitalized my prayer life, my understanding of God’s Word, and my faith in His promises! 100% backed up by scripture. I am so thankful for the healing this has helped me receive! ❤️

Dr. Sandra Kennedy’s force of conviction and voice illustrate through the scriptures, God’s healing force on you. Parallels between illness and scripture are potent and offer a powerful message.

Sandra Kennedy in The Simplicity of Healing shared the Gospel in her book, which is unusual for Word of Faith teachers. That is laudable but she disobeys the Word of God by declaring herself a preacher and misapplies the Word of God by reading physical healing on demand into Isaiah 53:5 (with His stripes we are healed). Rather than letting 1 Peter 2:24 and preceding verses interpret Scripture she doubles down on the misapplication stating that Peter says the same thing. However, 1 Peter 2 clearly says the verse in Isaiah refers to being cleansed of sin. It's one thing to misunderstand Scripture (that is forgivable and easily remedied with knowledge) but it is a deceitful act to ignore the message and context of a verse you clearly know. Sandra makes another error of exegesis when she uses Job 22:28 ("Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee."). She says the Bible says this and it is true, it is in the Bible. BUT it was said by Eliphaz, one of Job's ungodly friends - making it unsound advice - instead she uses it to support her "name it, claim it" theology. Surely a Bible teacher with 40+ years experience would know this! Is it any wonder she is deceived?!
Here's the problem with Sandra Kennedy and Word of Faith preachers in general: in her book The Simplicity of Healing, she states, "Your light has come - the light of the truth of Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Gospel that tells us He conquered death (so far so good!) and sickness and pain. And so can you. You were born to transcend every circumstance! You were born to rise up and rise above!" Sandra shares the Gospel in her book but then transforms it or distorts it to mean something else. Her gospel means healing and deliverance from sickness, pain, and bad circumstances. But it comes with a qualifier: as long as you say the right things in the right way. But what of those who get sick and don't get healed. They suffer for years even though their faith is strong (Joni Erickson Tada comes to mind or the Apostle Paul or Justin Peters). Sandra would say they lack faith or they cursed themselves by talking about their symptoms. How cruel is that! Blaming the victim! But worse than even that, the Gospel that declares sinners free from sin by the sacrificial death of Christ on the cross is changed into a way to have your best life now! Freedom from sin, escape from the wrath of God, an eternity in Heaven is not enough for these Word of Faith charlatans! The Gospel becomes a way to avoid sickness, pain, and bad circumstances. Christ becomes a way to achieve my goals in life rather than the only way to salvation. Who is attracted to such a message? Desperate people, yes, but also the crowd who followed Jesus our Lord for the free bread and fish and miracles. And, as you know, the Lord eventually said to them, despite their claim to miracles, "Depart from me, I never knew you!"
Avoid this book. Though she presents the Gospel, she distorts it quickly and can lead people astray to focus on themselves rather than Christ.

Powerful Understanding of God's Stance on healing the church
I believe this is a powerful book for believers. Whether you are looing for a physical healing or spiritual healing. As well as just a practical understanding on the stance of God, on faith. This book ignited a fire in me and reminded me that God truly is all knowing all powerful and what he wants for me, is good. He does not curse us me want to punish me. He chastizes those he love for their good. But he never raises a hand to say I determine you must suffer and I want you to suffer because it makes you better. No that is a lie of the enemy. Loved this book it was an easy and quick read.

So Encouraging!
This was a short read, but power packed with so much truth and encouragment. This book is an awesome reminder of who we are in Christ, what He has done for us and our rights and authority we have in the Kingdom of God. Dr. Kennedy also shares stories of miracles of healings she has witnessed that is truly awe-inspiring.

If you need healing, I recommend this book. It is well written, clear, direct and faith building. Most of all, if you believe, it can be life transforming. Great!

WOW. Every chapter I learnt so much. I knew it was God's will for us to be healed but "seeing" people not been healed I thought the same as so many other people do that some are just not supposed to be healed so that their life can be a testimony to others and to be kept humbled. But it is God's will for EVERYONE to be healed! No matter who you are or what you've done! By His (Jesus') Stripes we were healed!! Declare God's Word, believe it and receive your healing that's already available to you. Standing on God's Word through the pain and hardship, receiving your healing and deliverance and growing an unstoppable faith in God is the TRUE testimony God wants you to share with all.

This was a challenging book for me. It challenged me to look more carefully at the strength of my faith. It represents the conservative Christian view in channeling the power of God in healing through Scripture. I can see that my work is cut out for me personally to build on that faith through Scripture. The books is an easy read, I read it in one day. It is well organized and written clearly. It is focused on physical healing but speaks also to daily living in Christ.

After seeing Sandra speak on an episode of Sid Roth's Supernatural I decided to purchase this book. I was not disappointed. While this book is about healing, it is also a valuable resource on the area of faith. I have learnt a lot from this book. I hope to be able to buy many copies of this book, and share it. It is that good. I highly recommend it.
