The stories are good. Some are in Hindustani and some are in Sanskritized Hindi.


The hill woman is waiting for a Pakistani and that is simple life of hills.

The story of sex of monks is also thought provoking. What is more important? Bodily pleasures of after life pleasures? Yashpal feels sexual pleasure is equally important.

सभी कहानियां बेहतरीन है जो मानवीय संवेदना के अलग-अलग पक्षों को स्पर्श करती है
कहानी पठनीय है कुछ कहानियां जैसे जहां हसद नहीं,
पहाड़ की स्मृति ,चित्र का शीर्षक ,सच बोलने का भूल आदि तो बेहतरीन है

I approached this book with very low expectations, but to my surprise, I found myself enjoying most of the stories. I’ll definitely be exploring more works by this author in the future.
