This is the second of the Eve books I recently got my hands on - however unlike the Universe book which take the perspective of its creators taking you through a guided tour - this book is presented more as a fictional manual, one presented as you achieve the goals of being a pilot in these fabulous and fantastic machines.
So here you have a work of fiction - something that is strengthen by how the book opens up to you.
You see rather than being a series of cross sections (something another series has pretty much made their one) you have a series of cut aways guiding you through the fundamentals of each ship. What is more after you have the cut aways you then have details and history of the ships and the reasons why the manual has chosen then to focus on.
What is more you have other stories and details woven through the book - presenting a rather creative and different guide to the ships of Eve than I was expecting and an approach that is different to many other guides and artwork volumes.
This book does have its flaws though, passing massive and highly details images through the spine crease does mean you have to run the risk of breaking the book to see it all, and to be honest the fonts and text do get a little distracting - but these are minor details on an incredible book which I dread to think took to put together.
As I have said before - I love science fiction although sadly I get to spend such little time exploring it - books like this give me a glimpse of what I am missing and hope one day to recapture again.

Absolut perfecta pentru fanii jocului EVE. Totul este in-character, se prezinta ca o brosura stufoasa, un manual inmanat pilotilor novici care au absolvit studiile introductive si sunt pe cale sa primeasca prima lor fregata spatiala. Contine informatii detaliate despre cele 4 imperii si fregatale T1, cu mentiuni despre variantele T2. Fiecare fregata are o prezentare in scris pe doua pagini si o schita detaliata pe sectiuni interne si componente electronice/mecanice pe inca doua pagini. Pe langa asta, cartea mai contine si doua nuvele si cateva autografe de la creatori. Sunt foarte multumit de calitatea paginilor, a desenelor si a copertii.

Art. It took me a while to go through this. There's stunning detail in the insides of each frigate depicted. Really stirs the imagination.
