Really liked it, full of really interesting and practical advice for the prospective van-liver. Plenty of extra resources cited to put me on the road to further knowledge as well.
Only marked down to 4 stars as, it is very American-centric - which is obviously the author's comfort zone but, I felt the book title could have been a bit more specific in terms of WHERE this book would be more useful for (for example, a lot of time is given to solar and solar options for various issues like heating, washing and cooking - but if you aren't in a solar power friendly part of the world (e.g. rain blighted England) you will probably just skip over those parts). AND, there were a lot of links that, on a kindle are easy to accidentally touch when turning a page, which makes for an occasionally frustrating reading experience.
Despite that - very good book, and MOST of the advice is non-region specific. Very reasonable price as well.
At last!! A sensible methodology for decision making!!
First off - the author included an absolute TON of reference material. Choices that covered virtually all aspects of this particular life-style, and then gave her choices and why. I've been reading about the "rv" lifestyle for several months and while I enjoyed the scenic wonders, I found very little info to guide my thoughts and actions as regards the life-style and choice of Vehicle to utilize for what I perceived to be MY choice and all the why's and wherefore thereof. This young lady has written and explained it all AND in a format that provides pure info for personal analysis. I am so grateful!!
I'm currently living in a campervan which we have converted ourselves. This book was a good reference at times for tips on things like types of insulation, furniture fixings etc and goes through pricing for budget to luxury. Well organised content. However it is a little too basic and doesn't go into depth on any subject. Also it seems like the book was written in a bit of a hurry. The book is a good starting point but it won't answer all your questions and you'll have to do further research elsewhere.
I chose this book hoping it would answer my questions. It went into detail on so many questions about everyday life in a van. Got real specific where it needed to and told me where to fin products and technical support.
