Toriko, my hero. It was a good series. But all that just for food? Go to Wendy's or something.

Review – Toriko: Volume 43.
14/20 – A taste of unfinished business
The conclusion remains visually beautiful, yet it is far too convenient. Numerous points attest to the manga's rushed ending, which is a true travesty for such a rich universe.
The sticking points:
* Zonge’s "Gourmet Luck": Utilizing Zonge’s luck to allow Center to revive everyone is a frustratingly easy plot device. It is almost an insult given the stakes of the battle.
* The mystery of Gourmet Cells: We received very little information regarding Toriko's other two demons. Aside from the Red Ogre, the other two remain vague—especially the White One, which I would have liked to see explored further.
* The abandonment of partners: We were shown the training of the four pets (Terry and the others), but in the end, they are useless in the denouement. They are entirely absent.
* The other Heavenly Kings: Coco, Sunny, and Zebra were completely sidelined at the end. One senses that the author had to focus solely on Toriko to finish quickly.
* Power inconsistencies: Granny Setsuno’s dome was supposed to withstand only a single attack capable of destroying the Earth, but it ultimately holds out much longer without explanation.
* The waste of secondary characters:
* The romance between Komatsu and Melk’s daughter was totally skipped.
* The introduction of the little ice chef lacks pathos and serves little purpose.
* Far too many interesting secondary characters were purely and simply erased from the finale.
### What saves the day:
I remain satisfied, nonetheless, by the treatment of Starjun, Teppei, and Jirō. They are the rare characters who received an ending commensurate with their importance.
Conclusion:
It is deplorable to see so many elements fall by the wayside. One feels that the story was rushed when there was still so much left to elucidate.

Not fond of the way it ended, as I feel that it just cheapens the things that had happened.

The series recap chapter during the wedding (which I still don't like how it got set up) was obviously designed to evoke nostalgia, and that was well enough, but the rushed and unsatisfying nature of the fights to get here just dampened what it could have been.

Side note: the BB Corn and Rainbow Fruit that Toriko added to his full course early felt so out of place. I mean, these are 2-digit capture-level ingredients, compared to the rest of 4-digit and 5-digit capture-level ingredients.

And lastly, there's an epilogue of "the adventure continues". Let's just say that if there was indeed a continuation, I wouldn't be reading it, as it's basically just scaling things up for more of the same. I've had my fill. Thanks for the meal, despite the sour note that it ended up with for me.

There's something pretty satisfying about things going full circle, where at the end of the journey, there's plenty of call backs to the start or other memorable milestones.
That's Toriko's feast at the end.
So.
Many.
Call Backs!
Not only is every dish on his full course meal shown but other garnishes or side dishes to accompany the course are all celebrations for all the adventures the reader has seen this big blue boy scout go through.
So at the very end, we get closure in seeing all these things the big glutton loves to eat in one spread, but the adventure doesn't end as he takes his lil chef buddy to the stars to see what intergalactic munchies they can find.

OVERALL this series is great; a true hidden gem of shonen manga. It's funny how this series of all things might be the closest to replicating both Dragonball AND Dragonball Z's tone when the creatives behind Dragonball nowadays are trying desperately to replicate. "Toriko" is all about the comedy with THE most wacky of foodstuffs to ever grace a page, with almost 95% of them being reader-submitted, but at the same time not shying away from the hype fights which fans of Toriyama's later work eat up (yes pun intended).
Gotta love it and I'm glad I got to read this whole series from start to finish after a 10 year break from the first time I picked up a volume at my local library.

It got too insane but I won't forget that the very first volumes has to be some of the best manga volumes I read, even if the end felt too neat and "concluded with a bow".

This was an action/adventure/fantasy/gourmet manga about "gourmet hunters", those who hunt for special ingredients too cook them, and each one of them has his own goal of perfecting/choosing a "full course". We meet a lot of hunters and chefs and other crazy characters. We also meet some bad people who want to monopolize the ingredients, and then we meet the "gourmet cells" or "demons" that control the appetite for specific people, and how it all ties together with the ingredients of the world.

It has some interesting lore, the friendships are great but the romance is just stupid and wasn't developed at all, and it would've been better if it was omiited, some of the back stories of some characters (especially Midora) were really more interesting than some of the main events in the manga. It got too convulted in the end, but I enjoyed being with these characters, mostly. It gave off the vibe of Dragon Ball mixed with One Piece.

This is a pretty good manga but started loosing interest, Not really much a story! Just mainly focused on beating animals/Creatures for food/Ingredients but lots of cool characters and great art😁💪❤️❤️
