This is the first novel I have read by Avery James and it definitely will not be the last. Catherine is down on her luck since her father lost his fortune. Not only has she lost her wealth, but all of her friends have dropped her. So when she falls for Blake, she has no idea who he is. No idea that in some ways Blake is responsible for her father's loss. Or is her father responsible for Blake's trouble with the FBI? This was a fun romance with a bit of intrigue since you never really knew who you could trust.

I didn't have a clue what I was getting myself into when I started reading this book. I was prepared for just another alpha billionaire romance - something kind of light and fluffy, take me maybe an hour to read - I got so much more than I bargained for. In a lot of ways this book reads like a Grisham-style thriller with added sex scenes. Neither Cat nor Blake really knew who they could trust, not even each other. And watching them come to terms with their pasts and their future was compelling reading. I couldn't put it down, I had to finish the book in a single sitting.

I never expected a billionaire genre to include so much suspense that I'd be constantly wondering what's to happen next - that constant questioning kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire time it took me to read this novel. Avery James is a new author for me and I did enjoy The Billionaire Laid Bare: the story about Catherine, the woman who blames Blake for everything she lost and finally gets to meet him at a birthday party, the last place she expected him to be, and Blake, a man for all his success, is being closely tracked by the FBI. He wants to trust the girl he met at the party, but finds himself having to show her what trust means when he lets her in deeper than he ever expected.

With each fight and argument this couple had, their makeup sessions were just as intense. But as much as their physical attraction was strong, it felt as though their distrust for one another was stronger. Their battle to discover what they wanted and needed was, for me, one of the main aspects that made them an interesting couple and I kept wanting to know more about Catherine and Blake. The Billionaire Laid Bare by Avery James was an interesting read to say the least and I'd be curious to read more by this author in the future.

Bad Boy Billionaire

I love this book solid story line . Catherine father losses all his money and his well to do daughter friends drop her like a hot potatoe. Catherine is trying to crash her friends party to know avail, Enter Blake who helps her get in. Mystery, secret pass and intrigue. Fast pace book could,t wait to turn the page. Only thing that was a negative for me was the foul language. Other than great book

The Billionaire Laid Bars is a very captivating story. The hero has a real rags to ritches story, but the heroin's story is more ritches to rags. These two meet a at party that both of them are crashing.

Lots of drama and suspense in this story, mostly from secrets. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more of this authors work.

This was a good read with some suspense written in. The characters were fun and dimensional.

3.5 Stars Catherine is a rich girl that lost everything when her father's business went under. Blake is the billionaire that is responsible for her father's business going under. The two meet and fall in love/lust and have to find their way to get past secrets, enemies and current obstacles to reach their HEA.

The plot was hard to follow at times and Catherine and Blake's relationship seem to revolve around their quick tempers and makeup sessions.They required blind trust from each other with "trust me" being the only explanation given for their actions.

This book definitely wasn't the light and fluffy billionaire romance I've come to expect from a lot of stories in the genre. It had crime and mystery and intrigue mixed in, which I really enjoyed. At times the plot was a little hard to follow and a little unbelievable with all of Cat and Blake's "trust me, but I'm not going to tell you anything" aspects of their relationship. But overall, I enjoyed this book and its characters.

Catherine once had it all but due to her father, Richard they lost everything. Blake once had nothing but made a fortune working for Richard. When Catherine & Blake meet they can't resist each other. Their story has it all mystery, wrong doing, a past that could threaten to destroy everything but most importantly it has love.

Catherine and Blake’s story is great with heartache, mystery and sexy, steamy passion. Can Catherine and Blake overcome all the problems that have come their way. From Catherine’s father losing all their money which puts Catherine in the outs with the friends. Blake being the man that caused all of Catherine’s problems.

I found Catherine to be very immature

I found Catherine to be very immature. Their arguments were silly and I found Jacob Fletcher deplorable. Blake was a good person and I think the story was lacking credibility.
