“The intelligent reader’s Janet Evanovich.”—Alanna Knight “Fizz is an absolute delight.”— Mysterious Women An elderly German tourist is found dead in an expensive Edinburgh hotel. Accident? Most likely. But Fizz, a legal student moonlighting as a receptionist at the hotel, can’t leave it alone. Then, when the painting the tourist bought the morning he died goes missing, Fizz pulls Tam in to help her find it—a chase that leads them from Musselborough to the island of Arran on an adventure that will test their ingenuity—and their friendship—to the very limit . . . Joyce Holms is one of Scotland’s best-selling crime writers.
I found this to be a fun read. The main characters are a classic mix matched pair, the plot was fairly plausible for an amateur detective story, and I enjoyed the Edinburgh setting.
