Raised up in the corrupt city of Detroit with two crackhead parents, Yemi & her big sister Sable were forced to grow up at a young age. Life had never been fair to either of them, but the only way from down was up. When the unimaginable occurs, Yemi loses all hope, sending her over the edge of sanity.
Unlike his brothers, Azar’s attention was on things other than drug dealing and killing. His primary focus was on becoming a professional boxer, and his remarkable record was sure to land him exactly where he wanted to be. That is, if the lifestyle that the people around him lived didn't get in the way of it.
During his pursuit of success, the young and lost Yemi Daniels comes into his life. Hopeless and with the will to die, Yemi gives Azar no other choice but to save her. Thing is, Yemi didn't want to be saved. She wanted nothing more than to be left alone to sulk in her own sorrows. When a high school friend resurfaces, everything changes, and she finds hope in a life she had lost all hope in.
For as long as Miss Candice could remember, writing has been her passion. In the beginning, she wrote poetry. Later on in life, when she was about thirteen years old, she was introduced to fanfiction.
The Coldest Winter Ever was the first urban fiction book she read. It wast then when she took Fanfiction to another level. She perfected her writing skills, and began to write Urban fanfiction. At first, writing was something she did in her spare time. Something that was therapeutic to her. Never in a million years, did she think she would become a published author, although it has always been a dream of hers.
Now, at the age of twenty-eight, she's penned over ten bestselling novels with many more to come.
In addition to writing, She's also CEO and founder of Miss Candice Presents.
From beginning to end I was totally hooked and swept into Yemi’s life, rooting like hell for her. Looking for her to have a Phoenix rising experience. Purchase part 2 to see how she fares and if she finally finds the kind of love that doesn’t suck her soul dry.
Book was good Yemi was pissing me off she Lowkey didn't appreciate anything her sister brought her her or tried to do I feel bad she lost sable I hope part two will answer some questions I have
This was a great book. I love Miss Candice's book. I hate how Sable and Yemi Aunt treated them. Can't wait to read pt 2 and find out what happens to Yemi nd Azar!!!
This book was sad as hell. Sable and Yemi struggle was a ridiculous and that aunt and uncle won't bout nothing. Sable was a warrior though so that tragedy was very emotional. Yemi's way of coping was a natural reaction, and as much as Azar tried, you can't save someone who doesn't want to be. It took me a few to get into this book though, because it did seems like the it kept repeating. It's understood that Azar has his feeling so I wish the story had really opened Yemi up to really knowing. Her outcome wasn't a bad one but I hoping to see Yemi start to see herself, hopefully part 2 will cover that and put more love in the story.
When I say a tear-jerker, this was just that. I couldn’t keep my eyes clear enough during the parts with Yemi and Sable. Even long after that I was messed up following along with Yemi and her struggle. I didn’t really understand why she reacted the way she did but something connected that pulls you right on in. The ending was a mess, if she was on that from the jump I would’ve passed this one right on up but seeing where she had been coming from I was ready for her to make it by any means at that point. I have to read the next one.
This book was good I was expecting it to move a little faster. It had a slew start and it stayed bad throughout. I mean nothing to smile about with poor Yemi and it ended going downhill as well. So with that being said I hope the love story begins in the next book because I don't thing I can stomach anymore heartbreak for one girl.
Great read. I hope Yemi puts her pride to the side and allows Azar to help her. I knew Raquel was no good. Azar is babe! Miss Candice never disappoints. Patiently waiting on part 2.
This book was actually really good. I didn't expect that. I gave it 4 out of 5 for spelling and a couple inconsistencies. Im looking forward to pt.2 though.
I love Azar! I hope Yemi can stay clear from the bs, I want them to be together and for her to become a publisher and writer. I know losing her sister was the worst.
