Last but not least, there's Liam and Selena. A haters to lovers trope. These two marry in name only so that Selena can travel with Liam to Montana without destroying her reputation. Of course there is crazy sexual chemistry between them but they also always go at it like cats and dogs.

This one also introduces some OW drama that goes from annoying to pesky to straight up dark and twisty.

Because these two can’t make up their minds whether they love each other or hate each other, there is a lot of cringe worthy moments where they purposefully hurt each other and although it’s always during super intense emotional outbursts, I didn't like Liam's go to habit of critizing and emotionally crushing the heroine with his words. Some were seriously hard to stomach! Selena always forgives him (he does actually apologize) but after two or three times, it just starts getting old.

Not to say there weren’t sweet moments between them because when Liam wants to, he knows how to charm not only Selena but the reader too. I just wish those crazy outbursts were few and far between.

This one was my least favorite of the bunch. Liam was too wishy washy for a large chunk of the story and it was so long!

Would I recommend? If you read the previous books, I would recommend this one. For new comers, this one can be read as a stand alone but I’d recommend the other two books first.

🐲🐲ONE THRILLING JOURNEY🐲🐲
Slaying dragons! Lynn cranked this little jewel way up with this intoxicating storyline and simmering plot, betting on the shenanigans, calming the chaos and roping the mayhem, sowing the seeds and watching them grow, lacing this gem together seamlessly. Twixt, twined and tightly wound, unmasking the frivolous quirks and defying bents, putting our characters through their paces, testing them in ways they could have never envisioned. Surprising circumstances and vexing mishaps, swirl with the taxing trials and heartfelt tribulations, spinning alongside the deadly twists and shocking turns, putting our characters through their paces, testing them in ways they could have never imagined. Traversing through a minefield of perilous drama, callous abuse, skittish behavior, intense intrigue, electrifying danger and spiraling suspense, negotiating the cunning manipulations of evil machinations and malicious intent, catapulting this baby to life beautifully. The attraction and chemistry spirals as each layer is peeled back exposing an intense emotions, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits adding depth and diversity, transforming into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that's so rich and lively it feels like you can just reach out and touch it. Remarkable job Lynn, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.

Liam is a eating in a saloon and he is far more observant then most other customers. He notices the young woman waiting him and others is clearly trying to avoid male attention outside from taking orders for food and drinks. Liam recognizes that beneath her baggy, misshapen clothing and then hair being allowed to obscure part of her face, she is unusually beautiful. Yet she is not trying to earn other money by going upstairs with customers the way a second waitress keeps doing.

Selena has fled from a tragic past and is struggling to survive on her own while she figures out how to travel all the way to Oregon to find her sister. Life has given her excellent reasons to distrust men, but instinctively she believes that she can trust Liam. He is planning to depart for Oregon the next day. She manages to persuade him to let her accompany him on his journey. And what a journey it turns out to be!

The journey they embark upon is filled with an incredible array of action, adventure, danger, excitement, laughter, romance, friendship, tears, and passion. This story is so well-written that the experience of traveling the Oregon Trail is vividly conveyed. I stayed up all night reading this book because I was so engrossed by it. Trailing Home is the third book in a series. I never read the other 2, so I can personally assure you that this one can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. It was so good that before I wrote this review, I just ordered the whole series!

The McKenzies' saved the best for last. This is a rich adventure with suspense and love.

Selena McKenzie fought off her stepfather as he attempted to rape her, but it was too late to save her mother from a beaten by the man. She runs to St. Louis planning to earn money to travel to her sister in Oregon. She is working as a barmaid, but dressing not to attract male attention. She must leave soon, became the saloon owner is eager to discover her charms.

Liam McKenzie had returned to Kentucky to bring his mother back to Oregon, but instead he ends up burying her and selling the family farm. Sitting in a St. Louis saloon, he is drawn to the barmaid who is wearing a dress too big with her hair in her face. He pulls her in his lap to tease her, but instead is strongly attracted to the young lady.

Selena is not in a hurry to leave his lap, because she feels safe. She knows she has found the man to help her get to Oregon. Liam agrees to travel with her....as his wife. They marry on the boat with plans to make it a marriage of convenience and annull the marriage in Oregon. However, the attraction is too strong for both of them. They fight, agree to be friends, but love wins out.

A wonderful Oregon Trail story with humor and a variety of villains from her stepfather to a spoiled girl who will do anything to claim Liam.

A real treat. This book is a travelogue which details travelling through the western United States in 1855 by ox-drawn wagon – from Independence, Missouri to the Willamette Valley in Oregon. It is also a wonderful love story between Selena Darcy, a young woman who has no family and is trying to support herself while avoiding her step father who tried to rape her – and Liam McKenzie, a young farmer from Oregon who had gone back to Kentucky to take care of his parents’ affairs, after they passed away. She asks to accompany him on the trip to Oregon, because she has a sister there, and he agrees. He is the younger brother of Aidan and Brian, his partners in the farm, and the subjects of earlier books in this excellent series. During the trip they fall in love, marry – and develop a warm and loving relationship. There are many other interesting characters in the book, and some major problems with the ex-husband and a jealous woman – but the strong love that they develop gets them through it – and it is supported by many wonderful scenes of love making between the two of them. Both main characters are really likable – and strong and honest, knowing themselves and handling their emotions well. This one details the simmering romance between the youngest of the 3 McKenzie brothers, Liam, & the spirted heroine, Selena.
Traumatized by her mother's murder & the murderer's attempted assault on Selena, the heroine fled & is working in a Midwest saloon as a barmaid. But she promised her dying mother she'd do what she was able in order to make it across the country to Oregon.
Enter Liam McKenzie, tall, handsome, muscled & a good man with a teasing sense of humor. And Selena catches his eye.
Oddly not at all afraid of the tall cowboy Selena manages to convince him to assist her in traveling to Oregon.
But almost immediately their plans go awry & a new plan must be implemented in order to protect Selena's reputation yet allow them to travel together.
This one is slow burn with several erotic 'near misses' until the flame ultimately ignites for the young couple.
But as Liam & Selena attempt to solidify their relationship & try to better understand each other, a past evil as well as mysterious 'accidents' endanger Selena's life along the journey . . . .
Sweet, simmering desires, sensual heat, mystery, danger & suspense all work together to delightfully spice up this historical western romance.

This story has such twists and turns that despite it being somewhat long, I at least could easily have read on and on it is just that good. It has a really good storyline and so fine characters. Both the leading characters and the villainous ones. It is clear that the author has done quite extensive research as the trail is described very well and I at least could just visualize the travel and hardship they went through to get to their final destination. Overall a really fine story and one very worthy of the fabulous four stars I am giving it here.

The final McKenzie brother gets his HEA in book 3. Liam has gone back to their parent's home in Kentucky and is headed back to Oregon through Independence Mo. There he meets Selena Darcy, a innocent trying to escape her lecherous stepfather and get to her sister in Oregon. She asks Liam for passage and he agrees to a fake marriage for her safety. This book is again well paced, interesting, with surprise or two. This series has been a real treat and I enjoyed each brother's story.

Selena and Liam.
This book is now Liam’s time to find his bride. He the unmarried brother goes back home after staying there for longer than planned because of family matters now he is set to go home. Selena needs to leave where she was and going west sounded good so she went gung ho and asked Liam if she could travel with him. Trouble did follow Selena and she had more than one person she had to deal with. I liked Selena and Liam there was a lot of action at the end of the book it was a really good story. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

I enjoyed some of this book, but I found that I wanted to slap Liam. He is so indecisive. I feel sorry for poor, strong and romantic Selena. At least they get married first. This book is well written and described with lots of hot spicy sexy scenes. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and I recommend it. An interesting story of life on the trail before trains. Another long read to finish the series.

Selena just wants to find away to get to her sister in Oregon and leave her abusive stepfather behind. She meets Liam, who can make her dream come true, but as they spend time together, sparks fly, will she find a husband or be wary because of the way her stepfather treated her? Fast-paced read with lots of drama, steam and emotion. Great chemistry and characters. I liked it.

Third and final book in The McKenzies series and it's a very enjoyable read. This book is not dependent upon having read the previous books and is very easy to understand as a standalone. I really felt that as a reader we were given the time to get to know Liam and Selena as they traveled the Oregon Trail.
