A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. Jake one of the Justice brothers is put in a position to deal with the Tribal Police new chief Sam. She isn't happy with the law enforcement outside the reservation which she is in charge of now.

Good read

Good read and my only criticism is that our female lead started off strongly but then was given anger management issues and weepy episodes. Our alpha male rides into the rescue. Good read though.

I couldn’t get past chapter 4, what a total jerk. I love books about the Midwest, but seriously who talks down to women and disparaging indigenous peoples like this. Gross

Jake is the commander and Sam the Indian chief of police. When they start to work together it becomes explosive. Great storyline and can Jake chip away at the barriers that Sam has built around herself. Loved it!

This was a great story! I really loved the characters. Sam was awesome! I loved her kick butt attitude and how men just did not intimidate her. Jake was definitely in for a fight when the two of them met and started out. Sam has built a wall around herself and Jake has to figure out how to handle that. I enjoyed the story and getting to see the other Justice brothers and their fiances as well. Sam is the new police chief on the reservation and is determined to not play second fiddle to any other police force, even if it is to her own detriment. She is very stubborn and has preconceived notions that cause a lot of problems. Jake has to try and fix those in order to figure out and solve the meth issue that is affecting his county and the reservation. He wants to work with her and respects her but she doesn't see it that way. They are both independent control freaks, Jake just has to figure out how to get Sam to believe that he doesn't see her as less because he wants to be in control. There is a lot of sexual tension between the two of them and Jake has to be at his best in order to get to know Sam and their relationship to actually make it. Add to that, they then have a murder to solve as well. The story flows really well and kept my attention the entire time. The sex is explicit but not overly so. There's plenty of action and intrigue in this story to keep your attention.

Jake Justice is the Commander of the Duluth Police Department; he is well respected in his profession and loved by the ladies. When he meets the new Chief of Police of the Crow Lake Reservation, Sam Delgado, he will face his biggest challenge ever, both profesionally and personally. Sam Delgado is a beautiful woman, hal -Native American, half-white, and a chip on her shoulder the size of a boulder. She is determined to work independent of all other law enforcement agencies, go it alone and prove that the Native Indians can handle it on their own; now she just needs to get Jake out of her business and out of her mind.
It will take a controling SOB like Jake to tame the wild, temper-tantrum throwing Sam; and she will do her damndest to resist his control. But when the heat building between them finally combusts, an inferno ensues. Like the other books in the Justice series, Jake is intense, exciting, sexy, romantic, suspenseful, and kindle-melting HOT!
Can't wait to see what Taylor Lee has in store for the Judge.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Awesome, awesome contemporary romantic suspense. Ms. Lee has perfected her writing style so this reader rarely, if ever, sees a book of hers that is less than 5 stars. Jake is the commander of the local police department. His department, which includes a couple of his brothers, are in the process of trying to stop meth labs from setting up. Sam is the new Cheif of the Reservation Police Department. She is a staunch supporter of her fellow Indians that live on reservations. They form a task force to stop drug trade. Needless to say all the Justice Brothers are strong, alpha males that tend to be domineering. There are clashes of wills, personalities as well as suspense, intrigue and romance. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Lee.

This was really 4.5 stars for me because of Sam.

I enjoyed the storyline of this book. I have enjoyed all of the Justice Brothers books. Jake is truly an alpha male, as are his brothers. I understand his attraction to Sam, but Sam's personality took this book from a 5 star to a 4.5, or even a 4 for me

I loved the fact that she was kick a$$, and could hold her own in a fight. But, I just did not like her. I could not stand the fact that she was so angry and combative all of the time. Sam couldn't just have a conversation. It had to be a battle. That was exhausting and took away from the book for me. By the time she had calmed down some, the book was almost done.

I do have to say, I did enjoy the scene at Kate's house. Probably the only time Sam was not being over the top and her actions were completely justified.

I would definitely recommend this book.

Worth reading

Jake Justice and Samantha Delgado , police chief of an Indian reservation, fall in love amidst death and mayhem. Their passion can't be denied as drug and prostitution surround them. Fast passed page turner keeps you reading until the end.

I love Taylor's books and this one doesn't disappoint. If you are a Taylor fan or have never read her books, buy this one. Happy reading, enjoy.
